  1. People may laugh at this, but this forum is the closest I come to online gaming. I've given it a fair shot several times in different games and different platforms, and I just hate it.
  2. There was a kid, I think in South Korea, that dropped dead at a gaming café after playing 51 hours straight of an online game without breaks, except maybe to go to the bathroom. I don't remember which game he was playing. I know here in the states gaming cafes always have a closing time. Usually somewhere from 10pm to midnight. And normally they don't open until somewhere from noon until midafternoon. I used to hang out at one, just for something to do back when Diablo II was the hot new thing.
  3. Physical exercise is somewhat impossible for some people. Myself being one. I’m in a wheelchair for the rest of my life. I have advanced muscular dystrophy. It deteriorates the body’s muscular system and is a terminal disease. I’ll die in a wheelchair. I don’t have many options to stay occupied or entertained anymore. I can’t work due to the MD. I’m stuck at home.
  4. Being a classic gamer, used is my only avenue. And once a company releases a new system, games stop being made for the previous one. So they stop making money from the old stuff. Sony isn’t making money from PS2 games anymore, and Nintendo isn’t making money from N64 games anymore. So I highly doubt they give a shit. And considering that we’re in the classic/flashback era of systems, the real thing only exists for those of us who were there at launch.
  5. Probably around $150-$200. I honestly don’t remember. Some of my games are semirare and some are ultrarare. But that’s mostly because the ones in question never saw any real success when released. So no one kept them or even bought them to begin with. One game title I have is supposedly cursed, but I have yet to encounter the curse. I would say it’s one of my rarer games, but I think I got it for only around $20. I know I have a game or two that virtually everyone I’ve ever gotten into a conversation with has never heard of. What can I say? I’m a weird girl, and I’m into weird shit.
  6. What game in your opinion is the worst game that has ever been released for a Nintendo console? Every console from NES to Switch. For me, there are two possible choices but one stands out above the other. Solar Jetman on NES. As I have said before, the fucking ship is completely impossible to control. All it does is spin. Nothing else. You would have to have a feather light touch and tap the D-pad at the speed of light to try to control the damn thing. It's the worst game I have ever seen on Nintendo. The runner up would Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero. It's a steaming pile of wombat shit. But still not as bad as Solar Jetman.
  7. I finally did. I got FF8 on Steam and play it on my PC a hell of a lot. I freaking love it.
  8. Having multiplayer mode is fine. Being ONLY multiplayer is not.
  9. The last I heard about a launch date for the PS5 was somewhere around the end of 2020 or early (springish time) 2021.
  10. I disagree. While, you're right that the graphics are more advanced, I don't think the games are better. In the early days, the games were more creative, and more unique. The creators of Zelda were scared that it would flop, or at the very least have no market in the west. Look at it now. It was a revelation. Then there were obscure games with wild storylines that have a cult following, but outside of that no one has heard of it. Whereas today, everything is a sequel. CoD, GTA, Elder Scrolls, GoW, Final Fantasy, the list goes on. There is very little originality in games, if any at all. Granted I'm a fan of a couple of the series that I mentioned, and Skyrim is one of the biggest games in the world right now, but true originality is just not in the market anymore. They see the sequels bringing in money, take the game and put "Game Name" 2 on the cover and everyone goes apeshit and buys it. Who here has played Astynax? Quest 64? Rygar? Tinhead? Taboo The 6th Sense? Or how about Mario Bros? That's Mario Bros, not Super Mario Bros. How about a more common game. Illusion Of Gaia. Have you played it? Or are you too busy playing Skyrim/CoD/GTA etc.?
  11. I pick up game bundles on CL a lot, and resell stuff at a profit, so once in a while I find a game that I end up liking and keep it for myself. But more often I end up with a game that I already have multiple copies of. Right now I'm sitting on, I think, 6 copies of Super Mario Bros 3. It may only be 5, but I'm pretty sure it's 6 copies.
  12. I'm similar to you in game spending. I don't buy games unless I come across one that I just have to have. And as a classic gamer, it's not the easiest to find the games you want. There's games I remember that I wanted as a child, that at the time were $50. Now they're $500. I'm screwed. I can't afford that much for the game. And I don't do emulators. It's the real thing or nothing. I'm content with the library I have, but on occasion I come across a game that, after a bit of checking it out, I want it. And unless it's an exorbitant amount of money, I'll pick it up. But otherwise, I just don't buy a lot of games anymore. I have all my favorites, so I'm good.
  13. I know nothing of the internal workings of any companies, so I'm out on this discussion. But I have heard from many sources that Microsoft doesn't exactly treat its employees well, which doesn't surprise me.
  14. I can't say there are any I'm particularly loyal to. I can't say there are any that I'm opposed to. I have said on more than one occasion that I don't like Xbox, but I still use a PC. A lot of people call LJN the abomination of the video game universe. But there ae still a couple LJN games that I like. Such as Friday The 13th (NES) and T&C Surf Designs (NES). The closest I've ever come to loyalty would be that I've always been a Nintendo fan. More so than Sega, PlayStation, or even Atari. But still, I don't limit my gaming to Nintendo.
  15. When I screw something up, I tend to say "I am Error". Granted I'm a girl, but the comment doesn't have a gender.
  16. This one here is flat out a classic though. Q:What Is Gravity? A:Gravity as a theory is false. Objects simply fall. In the flat earth community there are several theories as to why this happens. Some attempt to explain this with use of mechanics like electromagnetism, density, or pressure. Others make use of traditional mathematics, such as the infinite plane model, and others a new look at the problem - such as the non-euclidean model. What is certain is sphere earth gravity is not tenable in any way shape or form.
  17. Q:What about Day/Night and Sunrise/Sunset? A:The sun simply illuminates only a portion of the earth at a time. This also explains time zones as we can then see the path of the Sun, a circle above the flat earth. I took that directly from The Flat Earth Society webpage FAQ section.
  18. What would be the best, in my opinion, would be for the reviewer to be going in blind. Meaning that they play a game that they have no title for or company that puts the game out. No names of anything. That way they won't be able to play favorites of any kind. You won't have someone who has a back alley deal with Rare giving their games a glowing review and shitting on all other games when they don't know who put out what. That would be the only way to get an honest review out of a professional reviewer in my mind. You may have to tinker with the graphics design a bit for some games, because that can often give away the game, but still. A blind review. Hate it or love it, at least it would be more likely to be somewhat honest.

  20. Those damn things are awesome. You can buy frozen dinners that have the same thing if you want to get an idea what they taste like. At least here in the states you can. But the McRib is better.
