  1. Same here. But seriously, how many people do you think were checking Tears Point for anything GF related? And with as remote as the deep sea research lab is, who's gonna know it's even there unless they happen upon it by accident? Also unless you already know about them and you're after Odin or Tonberry specifically, would there even be a reason to give a slight bit of a shit about the Centra Ruins? If you want Diablos just make sure to talk to Cid when you get your first SeeD mission before you leave the screen or you're screwed.
  2. I just hope they don't screw up like they did with AOE3. God that one sucked. There was absolutely nothing about it that was even remotely enjoyable. AOE 1 was graound breaking, AOE 2 was a masterpiece, and AOE 3 nearly killed the franchise. Learn from your fuck ups Microsoft!
  3. It's the same reason the CIA hired Windows as its chief of security. It always locks up.
  4. Yes. Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Country 2. I have the trilogy, but with as much as the first 2 piss me off, I have never even played the 3rd one.
  5. The only reason I got that AC PSP was because I had lost the one I had previously and it was the only one the game shop had. I hat AC, so I never played the game. I only used a PSP to watch movies on.
  6. @DC You should open up the blogs. I'm on another forum that is this exact same system, so I know it has it. I think they would be an asset for a lot of members. For example @UleTheVee makes a lot of posts "Ule's view" that are really interesting, but don't always get a lot of replies. Also I would like a place to rant/rave about games and give a review of them without pushing topics out of view to the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th pages.
  7. An HD remake is sometimes a good idea for some games, as it makes the game clearer and easier to play. You can see what's going on better. But there are some games that lose their complete attraction when redrawn. For example take Ocarina. I play it on an N64 console. I love it. But when they redrew it for the 3DS it was smooth as a baby's ass. The graphics were fully polished, there were no hard corners (think great faery), and it was almost realistic. I couldn't play it. It just turned me off. But there are games I wouldn't object to seeing an HD remake, just for the sole purpose of seeing what they come up with. Some side scrolling games like Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night would be interesting, as long as it remains in the realm of theory. But as has already been said, there are just some games that an HD remake would be an abomination.
  8. Don't do it. Just get an actual PS1. You'll burn out on the preinstalled games in no time, then it will just sit in your closet for the next 20 years. Everyone that I know who has bought a classic or flashback system has said the same thing. You're gonna want to play games that aren't installed, but since it doesn't have an actual laser or slot for a cartridge, you're screwed.
  9. I'm thinking Battletoads on NES. Either that or Gods on SNES.
  10. Legacy Of The Wizard on NES. That one is a serious kick to every god damn sense in the human fucking body. The world is so damn expansive, you WILL get lost quickly. I've only ever found 1 crown, and I've been playing it for over 25 years. I'm never gonna kill that fucking dragon. As for hard as hell, and beat I would have to say it's a tie between 3. Street Fighter 2010 (NES), DKC2 (SNES), and Conker's Bad Fur Day (N64). Each one of them was a bitch to get through, but at the same time a blast to get through. With the possible exception of DKC2. I've grown to hate the entire DKC series.
  11. I doubt it will be backwards compatible at all. The PS4 isn't and they had a hell of a time with the PS3. The early releases of the PS3 were full backwards compatible, but PS2 games caused it to overheat, and often burn out the CPU. So they were forced to rerelease it with only PS1 compatibility. They forsook the reverse play on the PS4, so I fully see them doing the same with the PS5.
  12. The styles of living. Education was taking over above religious condemnation. The arts were becoming more appreciated. Some of the best came from the Renaissance. Shakespeare wrote during the Renaissance, and the greatest mind in human history was alive and created his works in the Renaissance. Leonardo da Vinci. Also Michelangelo was creating around the same time. People were slowly getting past the feudal societies, and growing up. The gothic style architecture was becoming more used. I honestly can't think of anything specific that I don't love about the period. The KC RenFest is my favorite thing that I look forward to every year. I usually get a hotel room right near the fairgrounds and go all day Friday through Sunday.
  13. I enjoy crafting. It gets upgrades to items and powerups. It's a fun and amusing way to kill some time.
  14. I know. FF8 is my absolute favorite of the entire series. personally I hated FF7 and FF9. I thought 7 just sucked all around, and 9 was just too damn cartooney to me. if I wanted to play a cartoon game, then I would put a cartoon game in.
  15. I have one. They're nice and all, but they fight you when trying to play a 4K disc. The technology has a lot of bugs that need to be worked out. It's fine for Blu-ray and DVD, but you're most likely going to be returning it and exchanging it several times before you give up and settle , like I did. Occasionally you can get the 4K to work, but it's a lot of fighting. It's like a monkey fucking a football.
  16. The renaissance. I love the time period.
  17. I'm playing Zelda: A link To the Past as we speak.
  18. Hexen on N64 is a possible one. It seems that almost no one knows about it, and the ones that do thought it was stupid. But me being a fantasy nut, I loved it. But then Blaster Master also falls into that category as well. It's a virtually unknown game. And the ones I've shown it to said that it made no sense and looked like a total waste of time. One that I also enjoy the hell out of, that wasn't too popular just due to its difficulty is Zelda 2: The Adventure Of Link. A lot of people hated it just because it was so hard. It's become somewhat of a cult classic these days among classic gamers, and old geezers like me. It actually does seem like I'm the oldest one here. A lot of people said Banjo Kazooie was the dumbest kids game ever invented, but I love it as well.
  19. We saw La Llorona tonight. I'm going to be going back to see it several times. The movie was flat out fucking awesome. In my opinion everyone needs to see it. It's more than worth the price of the ticket. I would be willing to pawn shit for ticket money. It's that good.
  20. Considering that cheaper guides ran typically $20+ they made quite a bit of money. Collectors editions were obviously more expensive. Bradygames and Versus Books are/were the biggest 2 guide publishers that I'm familiar with.
  21. One of them for me would by Friday The 13th on NES. It bombed hard with both movie fans and gamers, but I love it. Also it's been my understanding that FF8 wasn't exactly popular. Off the top of my head that's all I can think of. I'll check my game list tomorrow when I get up and maybe I'll be able to come up with a couple others.
  22. I had a special Japanese edition fighters controller for the SNES. It was specially designed for games like Mortal Kombat and whatnot. I also still have the Assassins Creed edition PSP somewhere around here.
