Xbox to Buy Activision-Blizzard for $68.7 Billion.
killamch89 replied to Shagger's topic in Gaming News
I asked the same question when I heard this the other day - I can understand the European Union or somewhere like China blocking the deal because those are huge markets for gaming companies. Personally, I just don't want it to go through because the more I look at it, they'll be gaining a huge advantage over Sony because Activion Blizzard has major titles like Wow and COD. At the same time, I don't want all the studios being bought up by just Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo. I'd prefer the large majority would stay independent. -
Safe to say future consoles won't have physical media/disc drives?

Physical media has been on the decline for over a decade as digital is more cost-effective and with the rising inflation, physical media will disappear completely outside of collectors such as yourself. -
Do people still subscribe to services like Gamefly?

It's just how life goes, Blockbuster used to be extremely popular in the early 2000s but by 2008, they're out of business because they failed to adapt their business strategy. Evolution is inevitable and those who don't adapt always get left behind. -
Discord allows all kinds of scammers so them also indirectly facilitating extremists shouldn't come as a surprise. Add to the fact that a growing portion of the current generation being unsatisfied with the way society is and you have a ticking bomb on your hands.

What platform did you spend most of your time playing on in 2022?
killamch89 replied to Shortie's topic in Gaming Forum
Last year was mainly Smash Ultimate for me when it came to my Switch. The Metroid Prime remake is also pretty good - the controls feel far more refined than the original. -
But most games nowadays don't require that much skill to get the achievements. I can understand games back in the days because some of the requirements for some achievements was ridiculous to say the least.

I'd argue that GTA 5 single-player needs some DLC as well because Rockstar hasn't made a single one for it. Instead, they chose to focus all their energy on the GTA online aspect with DLCs coming out almost every two months or so.

Medieval fantasy with dragons and magic and kinds of crazy world-ending events. It's probably why I like Elder Scrolls lore so much as well as DnD to a lesser extent. Mind you, the Elder Scrolls lore itself is inconsistent at times because some things have yet to be fully explained such as a major antagonist going from one race to another over 200 years. Mind you, there are artifacts which can make almost anything possible and they seem to exchange hands every century or so.

What would aliens think about humans playing video games?
killamch89 replied to Reality vs Adventure's topic in Gaming Forum
I don't know, it's likely that if they had technology to travel across space they'd probably have an idea of what videogames are. If anything, they'd be like those tryhards in a gaming Youtuber's comments trashtalking them. They'd probably turn us into some kind of wildlife series - it'd probably be Spacetube or something. -
I totally agree - it just never made any sense.

I do remember this tv show as well - didn't watch it a lot but it had some pretty hilarious moments like the time when Lucifer was in a therapy session talking about his mom.

Anyone remember Nickelodeon Super Toy Run from 80's 90's?
killamch89 replied to Reality vs Adventure's topic in Movies & TV
I vaguely remember it as a kid in the 90's and I do remembering them always picking Nintendo games for whatever reason. If I remember correctly, they also chose quite a bit of GI Joe toys as well. -
No - it's not an anime series/movie unfortunately. However, it looks pretty good.

Just played some Fallout 4 after not touching it for a few weeks as well as some NFS Unbound this morning. NFS Unbound is slowly growing on me.

I've seen COD do something like this before and I find this distasteful - Capcom has been doing great with their releases recently but now they've gone and messed that up by adding some stupid microtransactions. They only did this a few weeks after release to avoid the backlash they'd receive had they launched with the game. I can't say I'm surprised because there was a report that a few years back, Capcom were going to add microtransactions to RE 7 but for whatever reason decided against it at the last minute. I was planning on getting the game but now I'm not so sure. What do you think of this dilemma?

Apparently the PC Port of The Last of Us Part I isn't very good...
killamch89 replied to Shagger's topic in Gaming News
As I've said with remakes previously, when done well, it can galvanize and re-invigorate a whole franchise but a terrible one can also do the opposite. -
SkyOblivion was always a Skyrim Mod project that's been in the works for AGES! If I'm not mistaken, SkyOblivion was announced around 2016 thereabout - possibly earlier and we've been getting gradual updates ever since including a rework of the whole thing. This and Apotheosis are the major Skyrim mods I'm looking forward to along with Beyond Skyrim further expansion.
