From what I've read, it's the present CEO that's started to make these very poor decisions like moving Sony to the USA instead of staying Japan among other things. They also shut down certain Japanese studios which were influential in their rise which was also a poor decision that'll come back to haunt them.

If they were really doing their job, games like Fifa and NBA 2k would be for mature audiences with their gambling mechanics.

Going by an article a while back, that's what they intended but it was poorly executed.

I hope they get sentences of at least 10 years - they should have the book thrown at them for this kind of gross deception.

Their leadership is the reason for that monumental failure. The devs kept telling them that the game needed another two more years of development but the CEO wanted to cash in on the hype so he rushed it and the rest is history.

Exactly - complete lack of awareness. They were thinking about the profits that they'd get by virtue signalling - the problem is when the proper research isn't done and it comes out like this. Epic ends up looking pretty stupid for this.

I saw that with CDPR - hell EA once made very good games as well but they went down that path about a decade ago.

The math is all wrong - I think you mean 99% money and 0.9% shareholders and 0.1% user satisfaction.

The decision wasn't up to Bioware at this point because EA has been trying to push Frostbite into all its other games from other studios as well. It's because Frostbite has failed them miserably why EA is more open to going back to Unreal Engine platform.

I can understand because this whole situation is making everything so inconvenient.
