Electronic Arts & FIFA end 30-year Partnership
Shagger replied to Withywarlock's topic in Gaming News
I don't see this making any difference. EA football or whatever they plan to name the series from now on will be same, toxic pile of slime as least year's game, like it is every year. The only change to expect is to perhaps see another developer/publisher making the official FIFA game in the future, and I wouldn't expect much from that either. If anything FIFA care even less about the quality and ethics of the EA Sports FIFA games than EA did. They were happy for the games to that toxic pile of slime so long as that topic pile of slime make them money. @Withywarlock may have described this a "The End of Era", but to me it sounds more reminiscent of that time somebody in 1918 said "That was the war to end all war.". Just a prologue to more misery and disappointed. -
This is yet another example of a post from you where you didn't care. There's no such thing as a "Nintendo 360". Seriously, did you you read that to yourself before you posted it? For what feels like the hundredth time, this isn't a race. Take some time and give a post some thought. Post like you give a damn.

I think this more of a general discussion sort of topic. I'll finish this post then move it. Discord started out as an alternative to in-game chat services on PC like Teamspeak, only difference is that Discord is way, way better. Easer to use, more customizable and can be used on other devices such as phones and tablets, meaning console gamers could get involved with cross-platform titles, for example. Discord developed over the years to also serve as a kind of social media platform, but is still suits it's original purpose very well.

I'm actually inclined to agree with you. @Boblee, @Justin11 and @Heatman keep trying to steer this thread towards racing games when Driver is not a racing game. I really am starting to doubt that these guys have even played them. I'll give it a little time and if this trend continues I'll lock this thread.
-
I never said I didn't believe you, I was pointing that you had proven nothing, there's a big difference. And you've still proven nothing, and quite frankly, I don't care enough to see you do so. I not interested in your "success" with cryptocurrency because I doubt your will to mention to this forum all the graphics cards you bought to mine it, masking it impossible for actual gamers to buy them. I suspect you also wouldn't be willing to mention how much energy you selfishly squandered to this during a time of environmental crisis. Not to mention how risky and unsustainable these so called "investments" really are. You've shown already that you're unwilling to acknowledge the issues with cyrpocurrency, the blockchain and NFT's, so I see no good reason to listen to you talk about the benefits.
-
First off, that image alone proves nothing, partly because I have no base reference for those figures, but mostly because it's just an image you could have pasted from anywhere. Second, if this is as lucrative as you claim, why are you so keen to tell me and forum about it? I don't claim to be the wolf of Wall Street, but when it comes to investments, when you "strike gold" you don't share that with everyone so they can take a piece of the pie. So sharing this can only be for one of two reasons if it's true. Success in this is depended on you conning people into it to feed from underneath you, like a pyramid scheme. You're being an arrogant ass hole lording you success over us. Either way, it's not good and I highly recommend you not do this future.
-
Well, it hasn't convinced me. The only time I've seen people making money on cryptocurrency is the news recently is when they hack and steal it.

If "Bethesda" isn't written on the box, odds are you'll be OK. I found Horizon Zero Dawn to very polished at launched, but that didn't stop Guerrilla from making a lot of improvements anyway, and made those patches before starting work on the DLC. That is doing it right. I also don't recall seeing anything major in the Gravity Rush games, a really underrated PS Vita and PS4 games I'd recommend. They have had a few stinkers, but honestly Ubisoft's open world games are usually OK as well, but be a little careful especially if is a recent release.

And have Google's "partners" flood your e-mail with garbage? No, thank you. I don't trust those survey's. Frankly, if the game in question is a frustrating, boring, unfair mess if you don't pay, then the game in question is a frustrating, boring, unfair mess that is not worth playing in the first place.

I have made how I personally feel about NFT's quite clear on this forum, so with all due respect to @DC who I know works hard to find good sponsors for the forum, I will not be participating in this. Even so, I know @DC would not have this sponsor on VGR if it wasn't legitimate, so I will offer due respect in kind and check out the game at the very least, and if it's fun to play then it's fun to play. I would encourage others to do the same. However, I would always advise caution with these things.

What job simulator games do you think should exist?

What Zelda Games Would You Like To See Ported To Switch?
Shagger replied to The Blackangel's topic in Nintendo
Can I remind you both this thread is supposed to about Zelda. If you want to discuss other games you want to see come to the Switch, do so in another thread, please. -
When you reply to a thread, it helps to actually read the thread, especially the opening post. @Cortyie already said they already played that game. Why is simply reading posts such an impossible task for some people?
-
And there in lies a huge problem. That's you not caring about what others have to say and that is not a mistake, that is a policy. It's way you decide to go about things on this forum, and it's not good. I've noticed a lot this recently with some some people who do what I've descried as posting anything just to post something. Not only do they not seem interseted in creating well researched posts with foresight and purpose, but they are also not really willing to read well researched posts crafted with foresight and purpose either. If it will take more than a few seconds to read, they just don't bother. This is just like what I say with @Boblee and @Heatman on the Burnout thread. Why is not worth the time to actually read what others have said? If we're not worth that time to you, then why should we care about anything you have to say? If anything, being on a forum and part of the VGR community is more about reading, understanding and learning about others on the forum and thier viewpoints and perspectives rather than posting your own. If you can't be bothered to do that, then you are wasting everybody's time. There is little point on even being here. That's harsh, I know, but it's the truth. To everyone reading this, give your fellow members the bare minimum of respect and actually read thier posts and read the thread before even thinking of posting anything. This is basic forum educate here.

Epic Games: Free Games with Epic Update Thread
Shagger replied to Shagger's topic in Video Game Deals
A quick note on the upcoming games. I was sure I had played Jotun: Valhalla Edition on Epic Games before. So I had a look at my liberty and, would you believe it, the game is already in my library. The latest snip I took from EGS; And a snip of my library on EGS. And no, I didn't buy the game, I'd remember that. The only reason it would be here is if it had been offered up before as a free game; What the hell Epic? Did you run out of games or something? Don't et me wrong, it's not that big of a deal, I'm not one to bite the hand that feeds, but I'm just a little concerned that Epic are not being 100% honest here.- 33 replies

You managed to list a couple of games I would have suggested already, so I'll have to dig a little deeper. Some of these game I'm about to list are, I admit, a little older, but if you haven't played them they knew to you both. Divinity: Original Sin: A top down RPG with a cooperative play mode. A fairly challenging and lengthy game, but you do have to be into the genre. Child of Light: This is a beautiful game that can be played alone or cooperatively. At any point during the game, a second player can join and take control of Aurora’s companion Igniculus, who is a ball of light later discovered to be an Elemental and is able to fly freely around the screen. Because of that I'll admit it's probably not the most compelling cooperative experience on this list, but it's great game none the less. Cuphead: I'll admit I haven't actually played this one, but main reason I haven't is because I did not want to play it alone. It's a fiercely difficult 2D platformer/sidescroller in the style of a 1930's cartoon. Haven: This is a game I started playing quite recently. It's a game where you play as a couple (can be a straight or same sex couple) exploring a strange planet in escape of you old lives in society. You look for materials and recourses on this mysterious planted in bid to eventually escape and find a new life. The gameplay is basic, but functional and is defiantly geared more towards coop. It's a sweet little game and makes sense to play as a couple. Well, that's what I've got. Hopefully others have more ideas, but I hope that was helpful.

Star Wars returns to Fortnite for Star Wars Day 2022!
Shagger replied to coolboy1272's topic in Gaming News
I have removed the link from the post as it was a shortened URL that is not permitted on VGR and will flag this user as this is clearly spam, but I have decided to the thread open on the chance people might want to discuss this. -
Kids are turning to video games to help with their anxiety
Shagger replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Like I said, I totally get how video games can be used to support people suffering from mental ill health, I never they couldn't the couldn't. I think the fantasy, role play and not to mention the empowering aspect of video games could be very good for depression and other conditions, like you aforementioned OCD. All I'm saying that people should take the results of these studies with a grain of salt. Turn to games as a kind of "therapy" if a professional recommends it. I guarantee your friend's therapist will not to recommending video games to every one of her patents. It all comes down to the individual. -
You know how much I sympathise with you over that, but I think we both know that's not gonna happen.
-
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe there's another layer to the joke that I'm not in on, but "May the 4th Be With You" is defiantly a Star Wars thing.
-
That post from @Heatman was nothing but him repeating what others had already said. It added absolutely nothing. Others like myself, @Yaramaki, @kingpotato and especially @Crazycrab actually went into detail about the games, but that's the comment you decide is worth praising? That's the one you compliment? Sorry, but that's kind of messed up. I'd like to remind you both that it was because of you two that I started this thread in the first place. As I explained in the OP, I was responding the this in the Dirt Rally thread; And when many members provide a lot of unique and detailed insight, this is your response. Like I said, it's kind of messed up guys.

Do you play video games together with your children/relatives?
Shagger replied to Justin11's topic in Gaming Forum
That's enough. This is yet another thread has just dissolved into chat between the useful suspects going round in loops. Locked. -
Have you been playing any attention? If you weren't so focused on just making as many posts as possible (You're still doing these bursts of dozens of one sentence posts in period of less than hour) and actually take some time to read what everyone has said, you would know that NFT's are a con. Know that they are a scam. You seem to approve of these things, but I don't ever recall seeing you explain why. Maybe because that would take a post longer than two sentences and we're not worth that effort. But regardless of the reason, I'm actually asking you now. If you genuinely think NFT's are good thing, please explain why.

Why are open world games buggier than linear games?
Shagger replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I think @Darth and @Crazycrab have more or less covered it. There's larger environments to render and more processes happening in the background such as NPC and enemy activity and more objects to interact with. These games also tend to use hardware differently and tend to be heavy on CPU dependant processes like AI, pathfinding, NPC activity and rendering objects off-screen. These are things one would usually associate more with open worlds and they will test hardware in ways liner games don't. Because of all these processes and the way they utilise hardware it makes them more complex to program, so inevitably they get more bugs and glitches. Bugs are also harder to find with larger area's and more objects to interact with. It's unfortunate, but inevitable that game developers can't spend the time and money to find every bug, especially with how big these games get these days. -
Kids are turning to video games to help with their anxiety
Shagger replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Of course, each individual will have thier own methods and things that work better than others. I can totally see why video games could be a great help for some, I just don't like the idea that somebody could say "people who are depressed should do this", that's all. Everybody is different and only professionals should be the ones who advise people on this sort of thing. Lie I said in my post, I though the study was stupid because video games are a hobby and obviously the right hobby for the fight person is of great importance when it comes to metal health, but that doesn't grant video games and additional power to help more that others.
