I've just had to give a member a wrap on the kucles for going on what I call "a rampage" of single sentence replies on threads mostly about the same subject matter. I think maybe it's time to better explain why burst of low quality posts done at a pace sometimes faster that one post every two minutes is harmful to the forum Somebody posting that much on so many topics so similarly themed in such a short space of time, it a split of your interest and it's impossible to believe that your caring that much about each one. That's the perspective, and like it or not, that matters despite the intention because that will affect how people engage and reply. Think about it, you see somebody had posted 30+ single sentence replies on a single sub-forum, like general gaming, a subject that holds a great deal of interest to you and want to discuss it on the forum, where do you start? It's frustrating and painstaking to go through all those topic one by one just to gauge the feelings, opinions and questions asked of a single person, especially when that individual just post a single, rushed sentence as the reply. It does not look like that individual actually cares much about what they post. It looks like somebody posting for numbers. Not to mention that these posts often look rushed with poor grammar and typos. The vast majority of people would be daunted and put off by this. That's why these bursts of post low quality posts harm the forum. It makes it daunting for other people to reply to anything, especially amongst those of us who like to put together longer, more detailed replies and topic with links, YouTube videos, references, paragraphs and so on. Why put that effort in when somebody is inevitably gonna go on a rampage of single sentence replies to as many other threads as they can as if it's a race and bump that post down where nobody will see it? That's the kind the kind of complaints we're getting about this behaviour. This habit of posting is careless and it is selfish, and no amount of good intentions behind it is gonna change that. I don't know how to make this any clearer. This is NOT a text a chain, it is NOT reddit, it is NOT discord and it is NOT social media. It is a forum. We are not expecting post to be legal documents nor a professors lecture, but there is an expected standard that is higher that the previously mentioned outlets. Please, all we ask is that you post to this forum like it's a forum. Let me make it clear that what you are about to read it my own, personal guide and it comes only from me, not the authority of VGR. They are not hard-line rules Use common sense when choosing to reply to a thread. When did the thread last get a reply? Is the thread dead? is the conversation still relevant? What of value can I really add to it? Would it be more appropriate to reply to this individual in a private message or a post to his/her profile? Use common sense when crafting your reply to a thread. I understand that English is not the first language for many of you, but do try to make your post legible. If English is not your first language, that's all the more reason to take your time. In your reply, make your point and/or address some else's point to give us a perspective of yourself. State why you feel that way. Do you agree or not agree with what others are saying? State why you feel that way. Give details. Use common sense when creating a new topic. Again, I understand that English is not the first language for many of you, but do try to make your opening post legible. If English is not your first language, that's all the more reason to take your time. Ask yourself, "Is this thread necessary?". I know that posting threads about already existing subjects is something of a grey area, but if the alternative is to reply to long, inactive thread with few in terms of replies and out of date information, assume it's ok to start a new one. Again, common sense. Craft your title with care. Make sure it's clear on showing what the topic is about. Remember, on VGR, the thread title forms the URL, so think about a title that will make the post visible on search engines. For example, if you are posting about a fix for a game breaking bug, you want the thread to be picked up by people searching for a solution to that same bug so they come to our forum for the answer. In the post, make it clear what subject is. Add external references or even graphics if you are up to it to validate the topic and make it stand out. State how you feel overall and why you feel that way. Tell us how you feel the situation you describe in the thread can be improve. Encourage others to state how the feel about it and why. If it's a news or political topic, link any articles or YouTube videos you found on the subject. And above all, make it worth it. If the opening thread will end up as one or two sentences with no external references, odds are it won't be. You may have noticed a common theme there, common sense, and I believe in VGR's members, you can rely on your common sense. However, if these "rampages" continue, the staff will have little choice to consider other options. Time limits and other restrictions on posts, setting a more specific standard of quality that will be enforced or indeed trying some of the things suggested in this thread. Either way, I don't want that. I want people to start simply posting to this forum like its a forum, that's not asking for much.

I enjoyed playing FFXIV a few years ago. It's a good MMO. One of the things was really great about it is that there was no role or job a single character couldn't do, so there was no need to split your efforts between multiple characters. The combat is good with a great emphasis on Co-op PvE (Player versus Environment) and the story is passable. I'd get back into it as well, but can't really afford to tight now.

I loved playing Zelda: OOT on the 3DS, it's actually the best version of the game. Better graphics that the original and that feature that flipped all the levels around brought new life into the game.

This game is awesome! Some chick and an old guy get caught up in a Mushroomhead pit! For some reason they don't seem to like it and instead walk across America looking for bugs or something. (The Last of Us)

We don't have the wrong idea. It's a con. There's always an absurd minimum amount of tokens that need earned requiring and absurd amount of play time and/or minimum investments of real money required to cash out these so-called "free" earnings. It is not worth it.

And you interest can only lay withing the bounds of these games being crypto/NFT/play to earn titles. So if that was you interest, why bump up these obscure threads about games that man not even be active anymore and focus on something relevant on the forum that's more recent, like this thread for example? Just bumping these threads up is not going increase anybody's interest in these types of games. There's nothing wrong about posting to older threads about something you're interseted, but we ask people to use a little common sense and, for example, not push up obviously dead (or this case, barley even born) threads for no good reason. If you want to talk about NFT games, then I would advise you either start a thread on them or post to the thread I linked earlier as they're pretty much about the same thing. In the meantime, I am going to lock this thread and the other NFT game threads you bummed as as there is not good reason to bring them back.

Honestly, if I had my way, I'm not sure I'd allow this sort of thing to be posted here at all. These "games" have con written all over them. And @egghead, why are you even bumping this? The thread is 6 moths old and never had a response, why bring it back? And this isn't the old, NFT/Crypto game thread you have bummed, and I'd like to know why.

I didn't doubt for one second that the D-Pad and that the mouse in general was fully functional, my point was that there is really on two reasons to buy this instead of a normal mouse; For collectors who will likely keep it in the box and never use it. For people who want to emulate NES games on PC, and for them there are better options, like this sort of thing down below. So in the end, I'd say you're right, it's just for aesthetics and serves little purpose other that that.

Of course a games console is an unnecessary device. It's an arbitrary piece of technology that only has one purpose, to entertain. So obviously, nobody needs one. But my question to you @skyfire is, what exactly is your point? It's like if your dad came up to you said, "Hey! I had your mum!". Can't argue with that, but it doesn't exactly prove anything either, at least noting we didn't already know. And remember, it's no like gaming PC's and gaming laptops are not just as arbitrary because the tech they need to run games (at least modern games) is not necessary for that device to work as a utility. For example, a computer will work fine without a GPU even being installed. Nor does it need the kind of powerful and vastly more expensive CPU's, RAM, cooling systems etc that gaming computers use. I'm willing to say that a computer is something that's necessary for a lot of people in modern day life, but nobody needs thier computer to built to the specks of a gaming PC. That is unnecessary in exactly the same way you describe a games console. People only "overbuild" thier computers like that for one reason, to enable thier device to serve the single purpose of arbitrary, self-entertainment and nothing more, just like a games console. There is no other reason to that. And before anybody says it, yes, some professionals do need powerful computers for thier jobs, like in graphical design or programming, so there are expectations. I'm talking about the needs computers serve as a utility to the vast majority.

@egghead and @Justin11 I don't know why people the need to indulge old promotional threads like this. It's 2 years old and wouldn't have been allowed under current rules, why comment on it? I'm locking this and removing the links ans please don't engage with threads like this.

4I recently bough a pair of ear pods with ANC for £30 (about $32-$34 US), so what's in these to justify the other $160-$170? As far as I can tell, nothing. Like I said, they both have AND, the both had roughly the same battery life and they both had the same kind of rubber tips for the ear pieces. The only thing I'm not sure of is my ones are waterproof or not and my earpods don't have an indigenous app (although I doubt how useful such a thing would be). They're $200 simply because it's Razer, and for no other reason.

OK, I do look at that and feel a very satisfying surge of nostalgia, but it's hardly practical. There are better ways to interact with emulated NES games on a PC if that was the purpose.

If you feel there's something we need to do, report it. Don't openly discuss it on the threads without bringing it to our direct attention. This isn't the way we want these things brought to our attention for two reasons. First, what is often referred to as "backseat moderating" is not permitted by the rules. This in itself is for several reasons, chief among which is reason two here, it delays our response to the issue addressed. It's sheer luck that I even noticed that there was a concern about this issue at all. Either way, I could have, for example, looked into this right away, but not only just sheer luck having to kick in for me to notice the concerns, I then had to type all of this nonsense out to remind you two of the process. I'll look into either merging or deleting redundant "Candy Crush" threads, but from now on I will expect you and everyone else to make a report on it rather than discuss it on the public threads, is that understood?

That's the problem. When you buy an NFT, you are not buying a piece of art, media or copyright, it's a receipt for that piece of art, media or copyright without actually owning it. You have no rights to it. It's just another form of cryptocurrency, the only difference is it can't be redded for any form of currency or goods like crypto can, that's why they're called NFT's, or Non Fungible Tokens. People who host the NFT's get a cut of the increased value margin whenever people invest in the NFT and have thier token authenticated by the blockchain, that's why these scumbags want as many people to get in on this as possible. You will make no money on something that's difficult to even exchange for anything tangible anyway, while these asshole laugh at you on the way to the bank. It's your life and you can do what you want, but can I please implore you not to do it.

To clarify, I do live in the UK. And in the UK if one wanted to build a gaming PC to match the capabilities of, let's say, a PS5, expected to pay well over £2000, whereas the retail price of the console is around £500. If you needed a computer as utility, you can find a laptop for that purpose for £400 or less quite easily, so add that to the (retail) price of a PS5 and it's still less than half the money. And honestly, I think that's a smarter way to spend one's money. Most of the electronics and stuff we buy is made in China as well, so that's explain this. What can explain it is that I believe it is something to do with the way some countries tax imported electronics. I know this is why people in Brazil pay double the price for a games console compared to the US. Regardless of the reason, you could say that the UK and the US are among the lucky ones. Whether you are lucky or unlucky with the price of consoles where you live, it has nothing to do with the console manufacturer itself. They price thier hardware at a point where they barley profit from a console sale, or even make a loss, at least at first. They do this to get consoles into peoples homes as it's only then that they can start to make real money through subscriptions and sales of games and accessories. That's why they can afford to sell consoles cheap. PC's, including gaming PC's and components, are different. They get sold as a more conventional good. Nvidea, Intel, AMD, Corsair, MSI, AS Rock or whoever it is making these computers and components only make money on the hardware sale. It's not like Nvidia get a cut of a game sale from steam just because they made you graphics card, or Corsair get a slice because they made your cooling fans or power supply. They have to charge more than what to cost to manufacture, a burden Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo can afford to ignore because with thier consoles being inside peoples homes can provide a revenue stream. PC's can't do that because there will be serval companies involved the manufacture, even on pre-built computers. That is why PC's is so expensive. Yes, depending on where you live, consoles might be taxed to hell and not be any cheaper as a result, but these taxes can increase the cost PC gaming as well. For example, I'm fairly certain that PC components are more expensive here in the UK than they are in the US because if taxes and import costs.

The reason why the mod team have been brought to the end of our patience with you is not about you opinions, it's about the deflective and aggravating manner in which you choose to debate. You do everything to duck and dodge other people's arguments and viewpoints. Derailing threads in the hope to distract people from what has been said, creating new topics about the same thing to avoid addressing other people's questions and now this. Accusing the mod team of "threatening to ban you" for arguing your point and using that as you excuse to not address the points @The Blackangel made. If you had actually addressed what she said instead of making this bullshit excuse, that would have been fine. Instead you did the exact same thing that we have warned you about time and time again. And while you were at it, personally question the ethics of the mod team. I really don't know if we can keep this up any longer. I'll have to have a conversation with @The Blackangel and @DC and discuss your future, because you clearly are not listening.

I don't understand why any gamer with even a slither of common sense would buy this nonsense. Quite frankly @skyfire, @Head_Hunter and others who actually believe this should be ashamed. No only has science spent, or perhaps wasted, many decades and even more $millions on trying to link violent behaviour and video games together only to fail time and time again, you can't even see what the real purpose these bullshit claims are suppose to serve. It's scapegoating. Counting of people's stupidity to deny real problems they don't want to address. For example, this is a particularly popular scapegoat in America because politicians over thier don't want to believe that the high rate of homicide and violence have anything to do with the fact that anyone can get thier hands on a gun. They know it would political suicide to open up that can of worms, so instead they blame not just video games, but entertainment media and "the corrupted youth" that partake in it instead. They present these non-facts to the gullible, ignorant parts of society that want to led away from the problems because they don't want to believe the inconvenient truth either. Seriously what is wrong with those of you that actually believe this? As @Crazycrab pointed out, none of you present any proof, but just choose to believe this bullshit anyway? This semi-conductor shortage is long reaching nightmare. I was at a job interview this past week with an engineering firm that manufactures refuse and recycling collection vehicles. OK, dumpster trucks and bin lorries, but this place was struggling to acquire components to meet orders for the same reason games consoles and PC component manufactures are struggling.

When a game is exclusive to PC, It falls under one of three categories; An RTS game like Total War or Cid Meier's Civilisation that wouldn't really work on console because of the type of control interface they use. Utterly rubbish, asset flips, shovel ware or even malware that nobody, including PC, gamers want nor take seriously. That's vast majority. It goes the way of Strardew Valley or Divinity and gets released on console later anyway because it wasn't the utter trash 90% of the "exclusive" games that PC has. Like the PC platform itself served like quality control. I know how this makes me look, but there is no game you can only play on PC that's worth buying into the platform for A problem compounded by the fact PC is so much more expensive and troublesome to invest in to begin with,. Sorry, but that is the truth. With the aforementioned expectations within the RTS and some MMO's, PC does not have it's own equivalent of The Last of Us or Zelda, nothing to boast about.
