Should all games be able to play both 3rd and 1st person?
Crazycrab replied to Rain Dew's topic in Gaming Forum
If a game is well designed and the mechanics are in one sound in one perspective then you shouldn't need the option of another. Not to mention it can be very complicated depending on what engine and development tools are being used. -
I'm not, I can go to the post office and take a picture of them on the shelves if you like. I think it's supposed to be "Rap-e-sco" but it is still totally inexcusable.
-
If I had to choose I would pick music. I listen to music every day but I can go weeks without gaming.

Would you rather have a locked 30fps or inconsistent 60fps?
Crazycrab replied to NightmareFarm's topic in Gaming Forum
Since the OP you've been pushing with an elitist attitude "30fps is unplayable" and your calling me uptight. You've been dismissive and willfully ignorant of other people participating in a thread that you started. Now your insulting me because I like to articulate myself in my posts and fully explain things. YOUR the one that needs to chill out and check the attitude at the door pal. -

Crazycrab replied to NightmareFarm's topic in Gaming Forum
No your not, your being dismissive and providing little to no rebuttal or context. When @Boblee stated: You responded with: Even when you did provide a bit more: It still comes across as dismissive because keep throwing the word "unplayable", which is very aggressive if (like most of us) you don't consider gaming at 30fps something worth making that much of a fuss about. It's implying that those of us that are playing at 30fps are "doing it wrong". You haven't mentioned any of points I've made either, even when you directly responded to me. These are a direct rebuttal to as to why having a frame rate that dips below 60fps doesn't work in the way you described in the circumstances you presented. You probably not intentionally trying to come across in this dismissive ignorant way, but it is how it looks. If I'm coming across as passive aggressive it's I'm responding to someone, wether they realise it not, is coming across as passive aggressive. -
Hogwarts Legacy State of Play - Official Gameplay Reveal 4K
Crazycrab replied to kingpotato's topic in Gaming News
You mean like wether pure-bloods and Muggle borns should share the same bathrooms? 😆 In all seriousness the game looks decent, the sort of thing I think the fans have wanted to see. An RPG playing as you own created student at Hogwarts, skill trees leveling up different spells and abilities, interactive with people at the castle, attending classes, doing side activities like quidditch and picking your house. I'm gonna be a Slitherin asshole, fuck all you mugbloods! I hope it turns out well. -
Would you rather have a locked 30fps or inconsistent 60fps?
Crazycrab replied to NightmareFarm's topic in Gaming Forum
You obviously haven't read what I said earlier. If the GPU is putting out a frame rate between 30 and 60 with V-Sync turned on (which on console it almost certainly will be since Freesync and G-Sync aren't compatible) then your display is running at an "unplayable" 30fps anyway, so your argument doesn't even apply in the context your presenting it. Even if that weren't the case I, like most people here, would still have a constant 30fps over a fluctuating 60fps which you weirdly seem to refuse to accept. It's not that big of a deal, get over it! -
Thank you very much. It's been forever since I was nominated. I was starting to think nobody cared, sniff: Anyway, I'd like to nominate @The Blackangel, her posts are always passionate, insightful and never not entertaining.

On what planet? There is no way you could get a them both for price, I doubt you would even a sub-par gaming PC on it's own.

Yeah I know but it was the best I could under the rush I was in at the time. I'll try to find something more up to date but I think I'm running into some of the same problems you are.

Not Everyone Worldwide Condemns Putin
Crazycrab replied to Jayson's topic in Debate, Politics, & Religion
More than of half of America voted for that moron... At least the second time. But that's a WHOLE other can of worms I can't be bothered to get into right now. Because it's one of the points OP wanted to discuss. That's how discussions work. If someone thinks it's relevant for the sake of comparison then yes. Oh yeah, doing my part to comfort Putin and his government on their actions: Or exactly the fucking opposite! For future reference I don't appreciate being called out as fool on the base of fucking lie! I don't care if you're left or right I call like I see it and YOU are the using diversionary tactics this time. -
Is it wise to spend money on free to play games?
Crazycrab replied to kingpotato's topic in Gaming Forum
"Free to Play" has lost all credibility for me. We all know by this point that these games aren't really free at all. The monetisation that they have always makes the game purposefully less fun and more of a chore than it otherwise would be. -
Not Everyone Worldwide Condemns Putin
Crazycrab replied to Jayson's topic in Debate, Politics, & Religion
I actually have to agree with @Jayson here. Not about Putin, he's not a strong leader but an insecure bully. But what the US and to our shame the UK followed through with in the Middle East wasn't really much more justified then what Putin is doing right now. First we invaded Afghanistan, we finally withdrew last year giving the extremist Taliban back control of the country anyway. All completely in vain. Then we invaded Iraq, a nation who's government had never orchestrated a single attack on UK or US soil. Yeah there was that bell end Hussain but he had exhausted his resources by fighting Iran, then Kuwait and then all the sanctions that followed so he wasn't really much of a threat. We certainly didn't do it for any moral reason either, Pol Pot killed as many of his own people in Cambodia in just a couple of years as Saddam Hussein did in his entire 24 reign as president and what did we do about him? JACK SHIT! There was no threat, no retaliation for any attack, no WMD's. We invaded Iraq and overthrow Saddam Hussein for oil reserves, end of story. As for Suadi Arabia, that nation that actually bred the perpetrators of the attack on September 11 2001. To this day we've done pretty much fucking nothing! The US government even went out of their way to protect members of Osama Bin Laden's extended family! So yeah, I don't how anyone can honestly justify our invasion of the Middle East back then and vilify Putin now or vice versa. Their both fucked up. -
There's no such a bad breed of dog, only owners who can't or just won't train them properly. Now it is true that Pit Bulls are involved in more violent incidents than any other breed (sorry @The Blackangel, that's an undeniable fact), including 66% of fatal attacks on humans in the US, but this is not the fault of the breed itself. So many people have this dated idea that the more "aggressive" breeds need to be trained with more aggressive means. Punishing them when get it wrong, using chocke chains and shock collars to keep them in line and keeping them away from other dogs and people. The truth is the complete opposite. They need to be trained with positive reinforcement that focuses on rewarding good behaviour, giving them treats and affection and socializing them with people and other dogs as pups. You treat a dog, ANY dog like it's a threat and that exactly what it's going to end up being.

Well if Slipknot works on Banjos I definitely believe it's possible!

I am aware of one particular experiment that was done with a competitive cyclist. The subject was biology assigned male at birth and her performance was tested (I think it was the 400m) before beginning her treatments. After completing hormone treatments her performance was tested again and they found that her performance had decreased by around 11%. This was the EXACT gap between current world records between men and women in that event over that distance. It seems that were similar experiments being done in various track and field sports and believe swimming as well producing similar results. I'm not taking this as a general thing, It's possible these kind of results won't be in every competitive sport. What I will say is if a sporting body decides impose any restrictions on Trans people competing then that decision has to be based on verifiable scientific evidence and not opinion. Not just for the sake of fair play but as to not encourage anybody to transition for the wrong reasons.

Percentage of Abortions by Ethnic Group
Crazycrab replied to Jayson's topic in Debate, Politics, & Religion
Bullshit! I've @Jayson and quoted you multiple times about the issue of Ectopic Pregnancy's, which is an issue pretty much irrespective of wether the fetus is a person or not, and you've not responded at all. There are plenty of different points to make, you just won't make them because: You don't have an answer or You know that answer you do have is going to contradict, or affirm a contradiction of you and/or your right views. So you try again with another topic and throw your shit from a different angle in the vain hope that points you can't respond to don't come up again. They inevitably do so you it again and again. I've got to, your more and more vile by the minute. In another topic you accused homosexuals of having some child molestation "agenda" and now blaming black people? Did it occur to you maybe the reason why more black women and people from poorer communities get more abortions is because they fell they can't afford the healthcare and/or qualify for health insurance adequate enough to financially cover the process of pregnancy and raising a child? You don't seem to be that stupid so use your brains. -
What historic settings do you want to see recreated in video games?

We've got a topic about this in the politics section, could you please discuss it there: https://www.vgr.com/forum/topic/13819-russia-invaded-ukraine/ -
That's exactly what a MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) or Pyramid scheme is, which is what these bullshit "game's" are. All the money goes up to the top while the people further down ladder get screwed.

Really? That seems to pretty much exactly how it's described to me: Revelation 21:8 Matthew 25:46 Matthew 5:26 Second Epistle to the Thessalonians 1:9 @Jayson, I'm not really calling you out this time. This is one of the major problems with the Bible itself. It's a compilation of stories that were passed on through decades if not centuries by word of mouth by a mostly illiterate society. It was written by mostly unknown authors then much later retranscribed and translated from multiple different languages to multiple other different languages multiple times. So even if we were to make the assumption that there was any initial truth to any chapter of any book in the Bible, how could anyone possibly sit there and say "this is reliable"? I mean fuck, going from the Latin Bibila Vulgata to the King James English version there are hundreds of mistakes from just that one direct transcription from page to page alone. Now I can't speak for everybody, but this is reason I'm so cynical about Religion and Christianity in particular in this case. It's a "this is what happened, because I said so!" mentality and I'm sorry, but that's just not good enough. With all this in mind not exactly surprising, just like you said, that Bible study pulls out tons of contradictions and misinterpretations.

"The gay agenda", what agenda? There is no fucking agenda outside their desire to simply be themselves without being persecuted. "Punks who molest kids", so your saying "The gay agenda" is child molestation? How ironic considering that the organisations that teach that kind of bullshit like the Catholic Church are VERY famous for that! You really are something aren't you. Even after all that I and others have said you respond with "Abortion is wrong, and gay's molest children" as your argument, what the fuck is wrong with you!

Would you rather have a locked 30fps or inconsistent 60fps?
Crazycrab replied to NightmareFarm's topic in Gaming Forum
Personally I don't see that much of a difference between 30fps and 60fps, certainly not enough to describe any 30fps game as "unplayable". 60fps is preferable of course but I'd take a consistent 30fps over an unstable 60fps, especially if I get better visuals for one very good reason, V-Sync. V-Sync prevents screen tearing but what a lot of people don't realise is how it does it and it's very important to make note of understand. Screen tearing occurs when the frame rate being produced by the GPU doesn't line up the the refresh rate of the screen. V-Sync is a simple fix that holds a complete frame in a buffer untill the screen can accept it but there are drawbacks. The first is that it adds an input delay because the game has to "wait" until the next frame has finished loading. The second problem is that the game is effectively locked half and single measures of the screens maximum refresh rate, there's no in between. Take the OP's example: I'm sorry to break this to you but unless your using Freesync or G-Sync which match the the frame rates in real time (neither of which are supposed on PS5 as far I know), that's just not the truth about what's happening. When the GPU is 60fps, your getting 60fps but any indicated frame rate below that and actually seeing on the screen is 30fps because V-Sync isn't allowing any incomplete frames sitting between 30 and 60 to pass through it's buffer. Turning V-Sync off gets you the legit frame rates of course but you get screen tearing. To sum up, if you have a 60hz screen you should only be playing at 60fps if you can get away with it when V-Sync is turned off, and this exactly what games on PS5 in performance mode should be optimised to do (as in his 60fps ALL the time with no tearing). If you're only getting 45fps in performance mode then that game is poorly optimised, the 60fps is effectively a lie and you just play the graphics mode at 30fps.
