  1. As long as it's only in "free to play" I'm not to fussy, but we all know that's just their way of testing the water. All the the up front purchases, DLC's, season passes, service charges for online, micro-transactions, special editions, product placements and tax dodging just isn't enough apparently. They have to include adds in the game's to! Fuck gaming.
  2. As the OP I feel I need to step in. The same points are getting repeated and were starting to drift a little off topic. This is about Sony's current and potential future acquisitions. I'm not saying the latest points about monopolisation and competition are totally off the rails but the points have been made several times. I would appreciate it if future posts could contribute with a new point or at a new perspective of current points.
  3. I think this is his way of of apologising for his acting career😆! In all seriousness, kudos to the guy. It added at least a little brightness to people.
  4. I'd much rather loose the ability to speak, I don't think most people could realistically get through a normal day without reading. I don't think many people realise how much reading you do during the day. From browsing the internet, signposts, social media, grocery shopping, browsing through Netflix, using in game menus, operating your phone and a ton of other things. There are, however, plenty of alternatives to speaking especially if you can still read.
  5. After all the crap that went down throughout 2015 in particular they probably have a hard time getting people to work with them. I think Bloober Team might be the first noteworthy developer to do so in years. Then there was this statement made by Geoff Keighley the 2015 Game of the Year Awards after which a ton of provident developers publicly stated that they would never work with Fuckonami ever again.
  6. Correct link https://www.theartnewspaper.com/2021/04/08/sorry-to-burst-your-bubble-nft-prices-slump-70percent
  7. Sorry SEGA but that is literally impossible. NFT's cannot "do right" for gamers, or non-gamers or SEGA. I mean fuck, their not even "doing right" for the scammers anymore! Right now despite some companies sill desperately trying to push them, (thankfully) NFT's are officially a sinking ship. It would a very stupid idea to get into them even without all the ethical concerns. It's almost like ordinary people actually don't want to spend money on a jpeg of a bored ape or a specific shade of purple. They are only of interest to other MLM scammers, so much so that even the scammers are being robbed! Their "value" has nosedived despite being worth literally fuck all to begin with. If I came into contact with someone who lost a fortune on their NFT investments not only would they get zero sympathy, I would laugh in their face! It's not like us non-fraudsters didn't warn them. Nobody wants what Jim Sterling aptly describes as Nasty Fucking Things.
  8. I'm very curious to find out what kind of content is in these math textbooks that falls under the criteria of Critical Race Theory. No seriously, I am LEGITIMATELY asking! I mean... Wow... Just WOW! Mathematics is the least political subject under the entire umbrella of education. It doesn't matter if your as extreme left as Joseph Stalin or the most extreme right like Adolf Hitler, the Sine of the angle still the opposite divided by the hypotenuse. You could be White, Black, Hispanic, Asian, mixed, Borg or one of probably a dozen races I haven't listed here and it Pythagoras' theorem still holds up. I'm pretty sure 1+1 =2 whether you are male, female, cis, trans, nonconforming, ape or carrier pigeon. Math doesn't care if you're streight, gay, bi, pan, A-sexual or into feet.... Except perhaps for the quadratic formula. I mean, it does technically swing both ways! Joking aside even if you the type of Qanon conspiracy theorist who is under the delusion that CRT in compulsory education is a real thing, this is fucking ridiculous! IT'S FUCKING MATH!!!
  9. I'm not optimistic. Even if it is Silent Hill, and the people writing these articles are being VERY presumptuous if ask me, every FucKonami release release since their split with Kojima has been a disaster.
  10. I've read the article and essentially what's happening is Capcom have decided to impose monetary restrictions of Street Fighter Tournament Organisers. Under these terms the prize fund is limited to $2000 per event and $10,000 for a TO per year. Sponsorship revenue is also limited to $5000 per event and $20,000 per year. Also under the new terms Capcom retain the rights to any media from any event including photos, video and livetreams. Capcom are saying they made these changes to the licence agreement to "make organising easier and faster". On that note I can see what Capcom think their doing. The idea being that by having these terms fixed in the licence agreement TO's don't have to spend time negotiating the monetary terms with them. The obvious problem especially for players and TO's of bigger events id that these are very low amounts of money. So low that it's not even bothering, especially after the costs of trademark fees, renting venues and so on are taken off. These kind of terms are a fairly common thing in many licensing agreements in professional sports, but Capcom have taken this WAY to far. These limitations are absolutely absurd. How the hell are they supposed to attract any top players when the prize pool is only $2000? It's fucking ridiculous.
  11. I think your getting "Star Trek" mixed up with "Shrek".
  12. You could argue that they are providing a service that has a cost to then. They need servers, software and what not to host online game and for features like voice chat. With that being said I'm not really convinced they need to, I mean PC games and even the PlayStation 3 didn't need to charge for it. I think you get enough value out of PS+ and XBox Live Gold that the fee doesn't really bother me.
  13. This is so ridiculous that it's actually hard to believe. How could anyone be so obsessed with preventing two consenting adults of the same gender from getting married yet through will and/or negligence make it legal to marry a child? What the fuck is wrong with these people, It blows my mind.
  14. Assassin's Crease (The tailor has to die)
  15. You know what, I think we've listed literally all of them at this point. I think we should keep this topic going, but maybe switch to a different letter?
  16. There has been a couple of smaller acquisitions since then. Like Haven Studios, who have worked on some big AAA games as an outsourced contractor. Including Assassin's Creed, Tomb Raider and EA Star Wars Battlefront. I expect that there will be bigger acquisitions coming.
  17. It could also mean their going to launch a new line of Pyramid Head pencil sharpeners. Companies file trademarks all the time, often with no intentions of even releasing any products or services related to it. It's likely in this case that Konami just want to maintain their rights to IP. EDIT: Actually, do Pyramid Head pencil sharpeners exist? That would actually be pretty friggin dope!
  18. As far as I can tell the only thing that has happened recently was Konami renewing the trademark. That means nothing but of the fanbase are blowing smoke about it. https://www.ign.com/articles/silent-hill-renews-trademark-reboot-konami
  19. Oh that's a shame. I know he was a hypocritical, cowardly, homophobic, racist, pro-life obsessed evangelical stain but it was fun calling him out for all that crap.
  20. Even if Elon Musk did buy a majority stake in Twitter, that's just one social media platform not a monopoly. There's Facebook, Google, Instagram, TikToc, Linked In, Discord among many others that he wouldn't own.
  21. The 2nd amendment right to "Bear Arms" in the US needs to removed or at very least updated. Back when it was drafted young was America was governed by frontier law, so for most settlers the only defense against bandits, horse rustlers and whatever else was themselves. Not to mention the firearms at the time were one, maybe two shot pistol's, rifles and muskets that to from 30 seconds to a minute to reload. Things are VERY different now but that law has not evolved nearly enough. Your quick to blame the mentally ill and criminals for America's gun problems. While I agree that those things can play a factor but I'm certain that you must have noticed that America is the only 1st world country that a consistent problem with mass shootings and other gun crimes. All countries have problems with mental health, criminal activity, substance abuse and numerous other issues. So why is that despite these issues existing everywhere it's only America that seems to have this problem? I'm sorry to burst your conservative bubble but the reason is because the the guns laws as well as gun culture in America are to relaxed. I know some people are going to say they need guns for "protection" but let me tell you a story. In my home country (Scotland) back in 1996 there was a mass shooting at a primary school in the small town of Dunblane (not actually that far away from where I live). The perpetrator, Thomas Hamilton, armed with two 9mm Browning HP automatic pistols and two Smith & Wesson M19 .357 Magnum revolvers shot and killed 16 children between the ages of 5 and 6, the Primary 1 school teacher, injured 15 others before shooting himself. Here is the wiki page if you want to know more but the main point I want to make here is that in the year following the incident new legislation was passed in the House of Commons that pretty much banned the private ownership of all handguns in this country and guess what... There hasn't been an incident like this in the UK since. You might have noticed that Japan is sitting at the bottom of the chart with a grand total of 0 mass shootings. That's because it is pretty the hardest place in the world to legally own a firearm and, "big shock", gun crime is almost non-existent. Face the facts, guns are useless for protecting, only attacking. Carrying a weapon doesn't prevent trouble, it attracts it. All humans no matter how "responsible" are walking chemical factories ruled by unstable impulses and emotions. That is even before all the numerous external chemicals like alcohol, caffeine, nicotine and recreational/prescription drugs that many of us add to that mess. We are biologically not stable enough or socialy responsible enough to be in any circumstance where any random person has the power to end someone's life with the ease of pulling a trigger. The reason why these laws won't change is because gun companies like Remington have lobbyists that keep enough politicians swimming in money in exchange for protection against legislation that would save lives, but their bottom line is obviously more important right? The only people who should be carrying in public are law enforcement and even then only under very specific circumstances like guardian potential hot spots for terrorism or other high profile criminal activity. Private ownership should be limited only to people with jobs that genuinely need them like farmers, hunters and vets.
  22. A robot is purely mechanical, a cyborg is.... ..... Yeah that. A mixture of mechanical and organic.
  23. I have to disagree with you there. The fact that they haven't announced an exact release date means their doing the right thing as far as I'm concerned. The trap that so many other publishers/developers let themselves fall into these days is announcing the release date of their games to early. That's exactly what CD Project Red did with Cyberpunk 2077 and we all remember how that turned out. They should wait to announce a date until they are confident beyond reasonable doubt that they will deliver. So even if Santa Monica Studios wait until just a couple of months before release to make the announcement I am 100% on board with that.
  24. When it comes to the "post farming", "posting for points" and "shitposting" being discussed here of which I'm certain your aware of, THIS is what were talking about. If you have nothing to contribute to the topic at hand then why are you posting in it trying to turn the conversation to something else? If you want to discuss Castaway post in a topic about that. If there isn't one, start one. If you don't want to do either of those then just don't post! It's not like this particular thread is anything unique here, I could make all the exact same points about just about everything you're posted today! This kind of shit derails topics, buries other threads and contributes nothing but effectively spam on the activities page that others have to go through to see the what's been under discussion lately. Don't see it as a problem, take a look a the activity page and gawk at how much scrolling it takes to get through this crap: https://www.vgr.com/forum/discover/ @egghead I'm only telling you this for your own good. When put yourself out there like this it looks like you flat out do not give a squirt of piss about what your posting. All that matters to you is that their there, not what's in them. If I'm wrong and you actually have any pride at all would you please listen to people like me, @Shagger and I'm sure several others about this.
