  1. Tencent will obviously keep Riot afloat and $100 million isn't that big a chunk of change when it has to be shared between roughly 2300 employees. There was a whole culture of sexism and abuse at work here, not just 2 women. With that being said when you consider that they initially only offered $10 million as h̶u̶s̶h̶ ̶m̶o̶n̶e̶y̶ a settlement as well as the bad PR I think it will make them think twice about pulling of this kind of bullshit again. As part of the settlement a third party company is also going to monitor their progress in improving their work culture so their are definitely some good steps forward here.
  2. Assassin's Creed, GTA, Final Fantasy, Zelda, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Metal Gear... The more I think about it I can't actually think of very many franchises with more than a few games where they all DO directly connect. Only Mass Effect, Halo and Gears of War come to mind and even their kinda debatable.
  3. I'm assuming that there is going to be a second season of Arcane League of legends and I'm so fucking hyped! The first season was incredible, easily the best adaptation of a video game I have ever watched. IWell that's the thing, the show isn't really based on the game. It's based on the book.
  4. The truth is there's very few publisher backed games that are exclusive to PC these days, and most of them are RTS franchises like Total War. Even Baldur’s Gate 3 that you mentioned is on Stadia as well.
  5. 500 USD might be enough to get a mid range GPU IF the CPU, RAM and I think most importantly power supply don't need to changed to avoid bottlenecks. @Shole, this is why we need more details in order help you. If your unsure how to find out the information try using DxDiag if you have access to the machine. To start DxDiag click on the Start button and type DxDiag into the search bar then select it. From there you either can share screenshots of the system and display tabs like these: Or click the "Save All Information" at the bottom which will create a text file that you can upload as an attachment on your next post. Either one should get the information we need to make some conclusions. The only other thing we might need in the rating of the power supply which should be written on it.
  6. There was more gaming controversy than there was actual gaming. There was hardly any titles worth shouting about especially for a year with new generation consoles. There should be better stuff in 2022 with Elden Ring, Starfield and Horizon Forbidden West to name a few.
  7. It's funny, I've been watching Cinemassacre for years and only just found out these the other day! They are pretty funny!
  8. Yes, if they are on you XBox One account you will have access to them on the Series X once you sign in. Just go to your library and they should be there. You may have to also upload your save files to the cloud or to external storage if you want to continue where you left off. In that case it would seem that either there is something else on the hard drive taking up space or its not correctly formatted. Connect the hard disk to you PC and see if there is anything else on it. If not then format it to exFAT and try again.
  9. Your right. CDkeys buy codes then resell themselves rather than it being anonymous users. This makes it far less likely for fraudulent keys to make it on to their store but it's NOT impossible. Similar websites like Humble Bundle aren't immune either.
  10. CDKeys (at least potentially) has the same problem. G2A has the worst reputation but no reseller is immune.
  11. We'll need to know a couple of things: What specs does he currently have if you know them? What's your budget?
  12. Well considering Ubisoft's mercifully dismal sales of their NFT's, proving that gamers have more sense than these companies think, I'm not convinced that the idea going to stick. That because not only is it most certainly a scam, it's one that creates shortages of GPU's, wastes energy, is harmful to the environment and at the end of the day it's a bunch of bits that are worth literally... NOTHING!
  13. If your used to modern games then this type of style and difficulty is something you will not be accustomed to. I gotta tell you though there are WAY harder side scrollers from this era. Castlevainia, Ghosts and Goblins, Mega Man 2 and Silver Surfer just to name a handful.
  14. It's clear from this statement that your entire knowledge of the UK comes from a 1950 news bulletin! Seriously! Have you actually spent more than 5 minutes in public in the UK? Even on school playgrounds the words cunt and fuck are as casual and cat and dog! Your 1000 times more likely to be arrested using red diesel in your car!
  15. The idea is definitely in bad taste and I don't blame the publisher for distancing themselves from this. I'm all for freedom of speech not I'm normally against censorship, but this is one situation hits just a bit to close for to many people. The devs can still explore the same ideas and gameplay scenario with a different setting that doesn't involve children.
  16. I've always suspected that's why. Top Hollywood stars could earn upwards of $20 million for six weeks if principal photography. A typical game publisher could spend that on a full team animators, a performance capture team + equipment, several mo-cap/voice actors and still have some change left. So unless it's a passion project for the actor or a very small role a top paid actor is unlikely to agree.
  17. I guess a game could be technically classified as any media experience that is interactive and not just observed, read or listened to.
  18. It's just there to let you know that the process you have gone through to turn the system on, wether it be the touch sensor on the console or the PS button on the controller has worked and that's a good thing. Especially when your console is further away or on a shelf where it's obscured from view. I do sort of agree with @Withywarlock that the XBox has warmer less piercing sound but I'd never really thought about it that much.
  19. There have been some licenced 3rd party pro controllers from the likes if Nacon, Razer and maybe others. To my knowledge Sony haven't made one of their own. Nacon Revolution Pro Razer Raiju Ultimate
  20. I can tell you mostly understand what On Rails is, but there is a couple of details you don't seem to have nailed down quite right and it's causing a little confusion. I'm not trying to be patronising here but I think it is important that we get this cleared up because I think it's fair to say I'm not the one who's getting a little sick of you and @Shagger's mud slinging at this point, and I'm not defending him either. In the context of gaming On Rails is where the movement is following a sequence outside of the players control but the player retains some other aspect, usually shooting. The most common examples are on rails shooters like House of The Dead and Time Crisis where the player has control of aiming and reload but the game itself controls the characters lateral movement from cover to cover. Another example would be something like this sequence in MGS3 where Eva is driving the motorcycle and player (Snake) is in the sidecar shooting. Again this is On Rails since the player has no control over the lateral movement of the motorcycle. Here's another very interesting one from the criminally underated Jedi Starfighter. In Mission 9 in co-op mode player one (above) flies the ship and fires the main weaponry while player 2 (below) is controlling the turret. So player 2 is "On Rails", but it's being steered by the other player. It's pretty cool. I'm assuming this is the type of sequence your talking about: This is... Not On Rails. During the gameplay the player has full freedom of movement, it's just if you don't do what the developers intended you to do like go in the wrong direction or stay still for to long you enter a fail state. I remember another section of the game where enemies will spawn infinity unless you do something specific. Your often directed by one method or another to perform specific actions or go in certain directions but at no point in Hellblade is control partially taken away from you, which is what On Rails is. I'm hoping this has cleared things up because I'm not throwing my hat in the ring again here. If it doesn't please don't bother to @Crazycrab me telling me wrong because I know I'm not and just keep throwing mud. I don't care.
  21. I'd say no. In fact on reflection 2021 was probably the worst year for the gaming industry and gamers alike in quite some time. With all the scalping, shortages, delays, broken releases, broken promises, accusations of abuse, lawsuits, NFT's and on the whole not even that many games... There was a lot more controversy than there was actual gaming in 2021. I'm optimistic that 2022 will be better, but that's mostly because I can't see how it could get any worse.
  22. Companies file trademarks and patents all the time, it doesn't mean anything is coming from them. In this case it's likely that Sony re-filed the trademark so they don't loose it. Don't take this a a sure fire sign that a new entry into the series is coming.
  23. HEY! I wrote it myself you A-Holes! If the grammer and style was inspired by anything I'd say it's a small character from Star Trek Voyager. Dr Chaotica, who appears in a few episodes as the arch nemesis in Tom Paris' holodeck program "Captain Proton". He is sort of a parody character from 50's sci-fi villains.
  24. What phone was that? The actual method wasn't always the same but I have NEVER encountered an android phone or tablet you couldn't change the wallpaper on. In my experience IOS has always been way more restrictive. No choice of apps, no free market, no right to repair no nothing!
