kingpotato Posted February 16, 2022 Posted February 16, 2022 Who remember Videogame magazines ? I remember buying a few when I was a Kid, there were many different ones but the top two that I remember were Electonic Gaming and Nintendo Power. I also remember that they were kinda expensive and they used to come out monthly. Boblee 1
Boblee Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 Of course yes, I do remember them and even still make use of them. I'm still subscribed to Edge and PC Gamer magazine.
Heatman Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 It's been ages since I have layed my hands on physical copies of video games magazines. I do check some out online a few times.
Empire Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 I loved PCGamer. Junior and senior year of high school I'd read it in the library, especially for their gaming PC build suggestions. But I never had a subscription, even with any magazines. But PCGamer, hands down. The editors and contributers really put a lot of personality into their work, I found.
Yaramaki Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 The official playstation magazine was trash for the most part but you only bought that because it came with a "free" demo disc. Can't really add much since i don't live in the usa and the magazines i'd mention nobody would know off.
Head_Hunter Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 Just mention them, we're in digital world, where everything can simply be found in digital space.
Justin11 Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 Most of the time, I read about video games online via different blogging and vlogging platforms. I don't have such kind of space to read full video game magazines.
m76 Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 Last video game magazine I bought was a 2003 January issue. I have been consistently getting every issue of that same monthly magazine since late 1994. Fun fact: by 2003 one issue cost 8 times as much as in 1994. that's 800% inflation in 8 years. OK, I'm exaggerating a bit as the magazine did gain more pages and came bundled with a demo CD and a monthly "free" full version game by the 2000s.

It's why I have been making use of them till date and not thinking of letting them go.

I never considered them as well because there are far more better options to make use of and get something that's worth it.
Scorpion Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Absolutely! I loved flipping through magazine pages, especially Electronic Gaming and Nintendo Power. They were treasures for sneak peeks and tips!
