Alexander. Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 Has anybody experienced a power out while gaming? Did you lose much progress, or did the video game auto save every 30-60 minutes? If you have experienced this, share a specific example in the comments below.
Patrik Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 It luckily happened only when i was playing online, and the server had a logs that show to the admins the leaving reason, luckily, it showed "Timeout/Crash", so no punishement was applied :)

I'm guessing you were playing online so nothing much happened besides a drop in the internet connection? It makes my heart race when things like this happen.

It makes my heart race when things like this happen. no data was lost as the database is server related, but it sucks to leave in the middle of the match :(

If it was an MMORPG that is online that saves every second, you'd be alright but if it's a single-player game where you have to save manually, then you're out of luck if you didn't save right before the power cut. I try not to think about it too much.
Empire Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 Not as often when I was back in Australia, So in the last five to six years, nope. In fact only had two powercuts in that time 😉 That's since UK and most other places have power in the ground and not on polls.
Kane99 Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 A couple times the power has gone out while I was gaming. Thankfully I haven't had to deal with any corrupted saves or anything else. Probably just had to restart a few missions, but that was about it.
skyfire Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 I remember I was in the city where my parents live and we had around 10 hours or so power cut every alternative day. And now things have changed a lot over the times. So I think having a backup at home also helps too.
Family sedan Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 I once had the power go out while I was playing a Hoyle PC game. I didn't lose any stats on past wins or losses, but I lost all my Hoyle bucks. I still don't get why I lost some data and not the rest.
skyfire Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 I remember the time when we had the frequent power cut and it was not a good experience to be honest. I hope that post pandemic we don't get that time back. It was horrible if you ask me.
