  1. Man I remember face plates! They were so freaking cool back then, but I never got the chance to ever own any of them. It's a shame you don't really see customizations like this anymore on modern consoles. (Sure there's faceplates for the PS5, but most of them are only one solid color or translucent which is cool but those are third party ones...) I know exclusive consoles still exist, but it was much cooler to be able to easily just swap out the 360 faceplate.
  2. For me it would be both Legend of Legaia as well as Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Legend of Legaia was my first JRPG (other than Pokemon) and I have many fond memories of beating the game for the first time at the age of 12. To be able to experience all of that again for the first time would be amazing. I also remember when I first finished Sonic 3 and Knuckles with Knuckles since I didn't know how to make it past the barrel in Carnival Night Zone as Sonic or Tails. I remember that fight with Mecha Sonic and how he goes super with the master emerald. That was epic and I would love to relive that again for the first time too.
  3. As someone who grew up playing the first one as a kid I am super stoked for these remasters! I've been wanting remasters of these games for years and looks like I'm finally getting my wish. I do wish we were getting The Last Revelation and Chronicles too in this line up but I'll take the first three games. I'll be getting this for my PS5, it feels more natural for me to play it on a Playstation console since that's how I played the originals. Plus these remasters will also have the PC exclusive level packs for the first time on consoles! Unfinished Business, Gold, and The Lost Artifact were extra levels only found in the original PC releases of the games.
  4. I used to have a customized Xbox One controller I made on the official Microsoft website, but I guess I got rid of it when I sold my original Day One Xbox One. It was a green controller with a blue d-pad, since these are two of my favorite colors. As for putting stickers on consoles and controllers I don't like doing that, it's hard to get off later on down the line if you're wanting to sell the console or if you're just tired of seeing the sticker.
  5. I love the snow myself! It's a shame we haven't got much here where I live yet, it snowed a little bit last night but it isn't much. I hope we get a good snowfall soon, just as long as it stays away the weekend of the 27th since I'm going to see the Sonic Symphony in Kansas City that day! Any other time it would be great, especially during the week so I can get a snow day at work if it's too bad lol.
  6. I'm not a fan of the first two GTA titles myself, however it would be nice to see a remaster of these old games to show the younger generation that this is how the GTA series started all those years ago. Plus they could bring in newer fans, you never know. There's plenty of people who enjoyed those titles, I bet there's even a few rare fans who prefer them to the 3D sandbox style we got after GTA III came out. We keep getting remasters of old titles, this would be the perfect time for this to happen.
  7. It's pretty hard to think about what Microsoft is going to name the next Xbox console, but will they even actually come out with a new one next generation? They already have the weakest sales, their PC Game Pass is probably going to be the thing that kills their console market so they'll probably eventually stick to being a software developer like what happened with Atari and Sega. Many people already just use PC Game Pass to get access to the Xbox titles they want to play so they don't feel the need to buy a Xbox Series X. However if they actually do come out with a new console, it's no telling what they'll call it. We got the Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One (for all in one even though it was confusing, still not as bad as Nintendo going with the Wii U after the Wii), and now Series X/S. Their naming scheme isn't as straightforward as Sony lol.
  8. Now this sounds like an awesome idea! If I had a popular community I would love to do this myself, but the thing is none of my communities are popular enough and don't have enough participation to get something like this going. I've thought about trying to integrate tournaments in the past, but it wouldn't be as fun with just three people after all. I do have social anxiety though myself and I am a sore loser when it comes to games so honestly even if I did host a tournament I wouldn't participate lol. I would probably choke up in voice chat most likely.
  9. I'm split on this decision, on one hand these tools can be good to use when voice actors are sick and can't come to the studio to record specific lines for things. On the other hand, certain studios could simply just strictly stick to using AI for future projects and the voice actors wouldn't get paid for their roles if the AI ends up using their voice clips which would be absolutely terrible and not right IMO. AI can't easily replicate the same emotions in voices that humans can, so I can only see AI strictly projects being terrible in quality.
  10. I am not, I prefer to own physical copies of games for not only my collection but also for when you can't easily download games from stores anymore after they get delisted. That's the future we're looking at if things go all digital. Unfortunately Walmart will stop selling physical games soon, and Best Buy did away with physical movies. While delisting doesn't happen as often for movies, it still happens from time to time. Also there's nothing like popping in a new game into whatever console you own, it's such a cool feeling that you don't get with digital games.
  11. Bro Sonic was on the Sega Genesis, Mario was strictly Nintendo. Unless you ended up with a bootleg which in case there is a Super Mario bootleg on the Genesis. Anyways I would definitely go with Sonic, Mario, or even Pokemon for a new gamer. Something simple yet fun and enjoyable. From there if they continue to enjoy playing games you could introduce them to bigger titles. I tried getting my mother in law into modern games since she used to play the NES when it first came out when she was a teenager, but she was eager to play Red Dead Redemption 2 and couldn't really grasp using the PS4 controller since she was used to just the four buttons on the NES controller. Now she's got a PS4 she never uses anymore in one of our spare bedrooms for whenever her nephew comes over during the summertime.
  12. I never got the chance to pickup a rare game for a cheap price, though honestly I wouldn't feel guilty buying it at a cheap price. Perhaps that's petty, but it's actually nice when you run into people who don't know what they have so you can get it for a good price. It's even better if it's a game you're willing to flip, honestly it's my dream to find a rare game for cheap.
  13. As someone who loves Turok and Doom I definitely will be getting this title. It reminds me of Turok for the PS3/Xbox 360 more than the older games. Still looks like it will be fun, but I can definitely see that the graphics look like last gen graphics. (Though honestly it doesn't bother me much.) Good thing I own a PS5 since it looks like it's going to be a exclusive, which is rare to see these days.
  14. I think it would be cool to be featured in a game after I passed. There was a well known Tech member on Sonic Retro who passed away in 2013, so there's a little homage to him in Sonic Mania which came out in 2017. When he was still alive he made a Sonic 1 hack that allowed you to play as a Motobug, there's a motobug named Jimmy in Sonic Mania that Heavy Robo rides. It's named after Polygon Jim, the guy who passed away. Makes sense since mania was created by members in the community. I thought that was really awesome.
  15. My spouse has been rewatching Twin Peaks lately. I started watching it with them here and there and it seems like a interesting show but also kind of off the wall too. I've heard it's just David Lynch's style though. Anyways this show originally aired back in April of 1990, and ran for a couple of seasons before it getting canceled. There was a movie that was released after the show got canceled, but it did get a third season 27 years after the first season aired. Lots of people consider the first season to be the best season where Season 2 sort of went downhill, probably causing the cancellation. The whole premise of the show is to figure out who killed Laura Palmer, which you do eventually figure out in season 3. (So fans of the show who watched it when it originally aired had to wait quite a long time for the answer.) Does anyone else here like this show?
  16. Hands down the best Sonic the Hedgehog game is Sonic 3 and Knuckles, there's no contest. No other Sonic title is as good as that one, it introduced Knuckles the Echidna, had amazing music, good level layouts that were different between Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles plus the sprites look the best. Also Mecha Sonic is cooler than Metal Sonic, and the version of Mecha from 3K is the best version. I think it didn't sell as many copies as the first two since these two games were never in console bundles like the first two games in the series were, so more people owned the first two. As for my second favorite game it's either gotta be Sonic Adventure or Sonic CD. I do enjoy most of the 3D titles of course, but they're not as good as the 2D ones IMO. Even though Sonic has had some bad games, I still think it's the best gaming franchise of all time.
  17. I absolutely hate Gangnam Style so if for some reason I heard it on the radio or if I was listening to a playlist with the song on it, I would immediately skip it. I still don't get how this annoying song got so many views on Youtube. I also don't like dubstep or rap, so anything from these genres I would skip over immediately. I have to admit I like the direction pop music is going this decade, it's homage to old classic house and dance music which is awesome. Well minus the rap that's still popular.
  18. I'm shocked there isn't a thread for this anime yet, since it came out in 2022 and a few people mentioned they liked it whenever I searched for any topics. Anyways my spouse and I finished up this anime last night and we both enjoyed it. We both never played Cyberpunk 2077 though, now I'm sort of interested in playing it though. David was my favorite character in the anime, at first I was shocked that there were only 10 episodes but once I started watching the second to last episode I realized it's a mini series lol. I'm actually satisfied with the ending, it's depressing but it was good. It's super gory so if you're not into that then this isn't the anime for you.
  19. Last year there was a new Pet Sematary movie released exclusively on Paramount Plus called Pet Sematary Bloodlines. Set in 1969, it shows a young Jud Crandall discovering the secret of his home town, the Indian Burial Ground that brings the dead back to life. It's a prequel to the 2019 Pet Sematary remake. I didn't like it as much as I liked the remake, but it was a pretty decent movie. I like it much better than Pet Sematary 2, even though I do like that movie despite it not being that well received by critics. It seems that critics didn't really care for Bloodlines either though, but I usually don't pay attention to what critics say about games and movies. Anyways has anyone else seen this film?
  20. You know I bet a lot of them might be archived, you'd be surprised how much usually gets archived by people. Though of course some games get lost to time, I know there's a lost Kingdom Hearts mobile game that came out before smart phones were released. It'll probably be lost forever unless someone held on to a phone that had the game downloaded, but that's gotta be rare. There's probably countless other games though too. In this day and age we're at a point when we know when games are going to be delisted or perhaps the servers will be taken offline so people are usually quick to archive the game.
  21. There were quite a few different Rugrats games that were released in the late 90's and the early 00's. There's even one currently being made too, which is set to come out sometime this year. Did you ever play these old school Rugrats games? I loved Rugrats Search for Reptar as well as Rugrats Studio Tour on the PS1 when I was a kid. I still enjoy them somewhat, but definitely not as much as I did when I was young. I also loved the Activity Challenge for the PC, my cousins had this one. I haven't played any of the other titles though, but Totally Angelica looks like the worse game and I will never play it. I am looking forward to the new game, it's called Rugrats Adventures In Gameland and will be a old school style 2D platformer which is different from the old Rugrats games that came out. (Those were usually in 3D, minus the various Game Boy releases.)
  22. I do own a few Sonic t-shirts as well as a Pokemon one. I want to get more though, I currently have a Sonic shirt that has Sonic on the front posing with a ring behind him. I also have a Tails shirt. My Pokemon shirt just says "Pokemon Go Trainer", it's quite old and has holes in it unfortunately so I need to get some new Pokemon shirts. I also have a old Sonic Boom 2013 t-shirt I got from the event for free. I don't wear it anymore since it doesn't fit me, plus it's a rare t-shirt now.
  23. I'm currently sick right now, I only have a cold but it sucks. Anyways I've been playing Pokemon Crystal with only a Caterpie lately, so I've just been grinding and listening to music while grinding to make it go by faster. It also helps keep my mind off being sick as well.
  24. To be fair She-ra did get a reboot recently. Honestly I loved the reboot too, but I'm sure people who grew up with the original probably didn't care for it. (Like in my case I love Teen Titans but I do not like Teen Titans Go. Kids these days only know of the Teen Titans from Go.) They may know 21 Jumpstreet since there was a movie released not too long ago as well, but they probably don't know who Alf is. (I only know of Alf since my aunt had a poster of the character in her room when I was super young, this was in the early 90's. I was born in 1990 btw.) Either way it would be interesting to see more 80's and 90's franchises get reboots via video games. We could get a new Animaniacs game since the show got a reboot, we got some cool games back in the 90's when the show was originally airing. I know there's a new Rugrats game coming out sometime this year too, the reboot inspired a new game which I am looking forward to playing the game when it comes out since I loved the PS1 Rugrats games.
  25. So I have been doing quite a few challenges in my favorite games as of late. I am currently doing a Caterpie only challenge in Crystal version, and I already beat Turok 3 using just melee weapons as well as a bow. I'm in the middle of editing that video, but since I currently am dealing with a cold I can't record my voice over until I start to feel 100% better. (I'm starting to feel a bit better today thankfully.)
