  1. I'm not a huge fan of Twitch. I have a friend who runs a D&D actual play stream and Twitch killed their channel without ever giving them anything more than a vague non-reason why, and no way to get in touch with anyone or make any corrective action. So, he's using YouTube now.
  2. Right now I'm using a Shadow cloud computing instance for gaming that's beyond what my laptop is capable of. But I might end up getting an external GPU enclosure and graphics card at some point. Still working out which one is more worth it, because the external graphics card would give me the extra power for gaming, but only when I'm home. The cloud instance allows me to bring that extra power elsewhere, but only if I have a good connection and it's an added expense every month. I don't want to switch to a different laptop that's better for gaming, because this laptop has the perfect weight and portability for me, and I've discovered the ability to toss my laptop into a bag and travel for hours without killing my shoulder is more important to me. Maybe I'll settle on the perfect set up some day.
  3. I have one, but don't have it hooked up at the moment because there's just not enough HDMI ports available with buying more AV equipment. It was a shame that it didn't do better. Having played some games that had a presence on both the Dreamcast and PSX, the Dreamcast version was usually better. I loved Shenmue, Spider-Man, Looney Tunes Space Race, Skies of Arcadia, DOA2 and Jet Grind Radio,
  4. I don't have cable and I haven't seen animation on the channels we get using an antenna. But, we do have a Roku and enough apps to make our own Sat. Morning Cartoons thing. I'll put on old and newer cartoons on Saturday to watch with our kid. He's still small, but he's finally old enough where he's better at following plot.
  5. I think Obi Wan Kenobi is the first Star Wars thing I've really enjoyed since Rogue One. What was your favorite part of it?
  6. That's a good point. I'm not much into multiplayer, but I do like building needlessly large structures in the game. The only other thing I'll take into consideration is what system I can get it cheapest on.
  7. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Witcher 4. The eye movement on those models was great.
  8. I could never get into this film. All the action scenes were like video game cut scenes, and I was just not digging that.

I forgot that I turned 44. I think that's because I feel like I'm 87. Time to yell at youths to get off my lawn. (I want that shirt.)
  10. It depends on the day. Sometimes music with a good energy helps get me moving and focused up. Sometimes it's way too distracting and I need to shut it off. But overall, listening to music is a pretty big part of my existence including while I'm working.
  11. Start with whatever you have on hand or can afford, because starting at all is better than waiting until the equipment you have is perfect. Make sure you can keep at it regularly before you invest any real $ into it, because eventually it becomes work to keep at it, and not everyone sticks with it once it gets to that point. Also, it's going to take awhile for you to build up enough of an audience to get sponsorships. So, don't break the bank on something you're not going to see a return on for awhile. But if and when you're ready to, sound is the most important part, even if you're doing video. So, go for that good mic first. I've heard good things about the blue yeti mic. I use the samson meteor. https://www.amazon.com/Samson-Meteor-Studio-Condenser-Microphone/dp/B004MF39YS
  12. I wouldn't pay current gen full price for a remaster or remake of a previous gen game. I'll just wait until there's a sale or I can get it used. And if those ever become not an option, then I just won't get the remake.
  13. Good call! At that point, I just called it and got some sleep. There'll be more days ahead to game.
  14. I feel you. I nodded off while playing on the Switch last night. Big sad reacts on that. 😂
  15. A lot of the movies mentioned are great. Makes me want to watch them again. I love some of the Warner Bros. musicals from the black & white era. Love watching some Golddiggers of 1933 and Footlight Parade.
  16. Not a lot right now with a toddler that likes to hit all the buttons on the controller, but I get an hour in here and there. I used to game a lot more. Now it's mostly at night, if I happen to not be able to sleep.
  17. I'm playing back through Dragon Question Builders again. I'm going to build a high-rise castle with a basement on Cantlin ground. When I'm done or get bored of that, we'll see. My steam games backlog is very intimidating.
  18. I didn't get to play nearly enough new 3DS games. I ended uploading up my 3DS with on sale and virtual console games. Though, admittedly, I cannot stop playing Fire Emblem Awakening.
  19. Phantom Hourglass is a great pick. I need to replay that some day. I liked Spirit Tracks too. I loved New SMB, Tetris DS, and that generation of Castlevania games. The GBA ones were better, but the DS games held up.
  20. I'm on my 2nd battery with this laptop, and I don't like that it has an onboard video chip. It's a great laptop for everything else, but it's crap for gaming. It's in the Dell XPS family. I think I've got some time left in this battery before I have to replace it again.
  21. Agreed that 300 million seems like a fire sale price for those franchises. If Square Enix wasn't properly utilizing the IP they had, it's better off elsewhere. Every time someone mentions video games and NFTs/Blockchain in the same sentence, my eyes roll just a little bit harder.
  22. The trilogy is totally worth it. My favorite is the 2nd film. I'm a little less enthused about the musical news. I hope those who enjoy musicals of this nature have a blast. A musical interpretation of Back to the Future is simply not my jam. https://www.broadway.com/buzz/202384/olivier-winning-back-to-the-future-musical-to-arrive-on-broadway-in-2023/
  23. It's always tough to remember anime I didn't like, even though there have been plenty. I don't think I've ever seen one so bad that I couldn't forget about it. I have a handful of favorites, but right now I'll go with Paranoia Agent. I deeply love that show and how messed up it is.
