  1. Before I saw that movie, I used to enjoy spelunking in well known caves. But after seeing that movie, I haven't been to one since. Which includes the ones with guided tours, like Meramec Caverns and Mark Twain cave. I've been to both of them several times in the past, but I'll never go back to either one of them.
  2. The old idiom "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" is something we hear all the time. But just because it isn't broke, doesn't mean it can't be improved. My computer isn't broke, but it can be improved with some memory upgrades and possibly a processor upgrade. That is a small example, but it would be progress nonetheless. Sometimes it's not necessarily "fixing" something that is a progressive action. For those here that are parents, simply telling your child that you love them could fall under this category. You may not be fixing anything, but it can make you and your child closer when they hear that their mom/dad loves them. Progress doesn't have to be anything big and monumental that the whole world sees. Sometimes progress is small and private.
  3. Just use good judgement. If you have the slightest inkling that it may not be on the level, then avoid it. Site reviews are often worthless, as the site owner can write those reviews themselves. So take anything you find with a grain of salt. If you're unsure, you can always ask @Shagger what he thinks. I'm uneducated about the entire thing, so I would be useless to ask. And @DC has a lot on his plate, so it may take a long time to hear back from him if you go that route.
  4. Lenny's conversation with Arthur when they went to check out Shady Belle would definitely be scrapped. Check the video at about 2:52 in.
  5. There's a few other girls around here. @StaceyPowers is a woman and so is @Alyxx. We're here, but there's definitely a LOT more men here.
  6. For me, whether help is needed or not is irrelevant. I'm fine staying to myself and keeping all interaction online.
  7. Can you imagine GTA or RDR2 with a PG rating? 98% of the game as we know it would be gone. Pokemon would be a more violent and graphic game than either of them.
  8. I know how it is being an introvert. I wouldn't leave my house if it was burning. Too many people around. The fire department and rubberneckers. Thanks, but no thanks. I'll burn.
  9. I'll have to talk to him to see his reasoning, as I'm unfamiliar with the topic you're referencing.
  10. I assume you're referring to emulation for things like playing SNES games on a PC. If that's the case, there are already a myriad of topics on the subject. I would suggest searching those first, and see if one matches what you're wanting to discuss. If none do, then feel free to make a topic in the appropriate forum. Make it simple to follow for those interested, and include everything that is needed for the conversation you're wanting to have. As long as it isn't leading to anything illegal, you should be fine.
  11. The polar caps have ice on Mars, and there is evidence that rivers once flowed there, but went dry millions of years ago. Most likely either due to an impact that flash boiled all the liquid water causing it to evaporate into space instantly, or due to Olympus Mons. I think it would be a combination of the two. Mars doesn't have a heavy enough atmosphere or gravitational pull to keep a hold on water if it's flash boiled like that. But with the power Olympus Mons has, it could also launch any liquids straight off the planet. Astrophysics isn't an exact science, and it also isn't always "the simplest answer" kind of scenario. I'll include a pic of a star below, and you won't believe your eyes, I guarantee it.
  12. Claustrophobia, heights, water, and above all others trypophobia.
  13. I wouldn't say I'm not proud of any of my traits, but to the average person, there are several that are less than desirable. I'm extremely violent. I have a record. I have a sickeningly morbid sense of humor. I'm misanthropic. There are others, but those are the most prevalent that I can think of at the moment.
  14. English is the international language of trade, which is why it's taught all over the world as a second language to virtually everyone. Those of us born to an English speaking country, are typically lazy about languages and only learn a second if we have the desire. While technically the states don't have an official language, English (or more appropriately American) is the common tongue.
  15. Thank you @kingpotato. This will make a great addition to the article I've been working on these last several months. It's hard to collect stories when most everyone you know has never heard of her, and those who have are almost universally unwilling to talk about her.
  16. A lot of people say this as a joke, but I'm being dead serious when I say that the majority of my sanity was gone long ago. Ask me no questions, I'll tell you no lies. But never try to deny the simple fact that all is not well upstairs for me. I may be entertaining to some, I am obnoxious to most. The rest just take no interaction. My feeling on that has always been the same. Something I have said for more than 20 years, when I either didn't know what to say, or just didn't care is "Good for you, or fuck you, whichever you prefer."
  17. 2020 would have been my 20 year HS reunion. Except I dropped out a year and a half prior to graduation. Yet I was still invited to the 10 year reunion. Maybe it was because I was still invited to graduation. The superintendent specifically told me they wanted to give me a diploma so I didn't come back, with all the rumors that were going around about me. That was fine with me as I vowed to never go back to that town again. And I have kept that vow for the last 22 years.
  18. I think the look on her face says more. You can see in her eyes what she's planning for that night. He's gonna be hurting in the morning. Assuming she even allows him to sleep at any point. Or he's going to be dead, as no blood flow to the brain can be lethal.
  19. Thank you both! It shouldn't matter in the least how much pigment is in a persons skin, with exception of certain roles as @Shagger has already mentioned. You can't cast Samuel L. Jackson or Denzel Washington as rich plantation owners with 200 slaves circa 1835. That's not going to work. So in some instances, you need to pay due respect to the ethnicity and heritage of the actor to portray the role correctly and accurately. But for everything else, it simply DOES. NOT. MATTER. If their ethnicity matters in an non ethnic role, then why not throw their sexuality and gender identity into the mix as well? Why? BECAUSE IT DOESN'T FUCKING MATTER.
  20. Micah was nothing but a "yes man'" and a total kiss ass. He weaseled his way in because he saw Dutch as a means of making him rich, and didn't want to have to share. He filled Dutch's head with so many lies about the entire gang. But I also believe that Dutch was using the gang to make himself rich, and that when he decided he had a comfortable amount of money he was going to slip away with it all and abandon everyone. He was after all the only one who knew where it was. Hosea should have been the leader of the gang, with Arthur in second place. But it didn't work that way.
  21. It actually is on Switch. I have a FF7/FF8 dual cart. You can get it on eBay for about $40. But you may have to take some time and really look for one that has them both remastered. Not all do.
  22. Spec-wise, it probably is a bit inferior, but that is strictly due to how compact it is. As for games having to be downgraded, that's just plain wrong. Skyrim for example ran much better and had much more crisp graphics on my Switch than it did on PC or PS4. The Witcher was the same between Switch and Xbox One. My Switch outperformed both of them on those games. And those are two of the biggest games of the era, especially Skyrim.
  23. It's an over-the-counter med that you can get to get rid of gas. https://www.beanogas.com/
  24. One of the minor things that happened to me is my sister looked me in the eye when I was digging in a dumpster trying to find something to eat, as she left with her hot pizza and the bitch said nothing to me, nor did she offer any help. We made eye contact and she left. And like I said, that was one of the minor things that has happened to me in the past.
  25. That video is just weird. That's all I'm saying on it. But I know a couple others that are not only weird, but creepy also.
