  1. I was hoping like hell that St. Louis would lose last year. I was flat out pissed when they took the cup. My Red Wings last took it in 2008, so we’re overdue for another.
  2. I've dreamed of owning a game or two. Like if I could afford it and found the owner willing to sell, I would get my hands on the gold tournament cartridge from the NES tournament they held way back when. But I don't have money to burn in that range, so unless I suddenly become a billionaire, it's never going to happen.
  3. Well now that I think of it, I have some that are possibly rare. I honestly don't know since they're ROM-hacks.And to be honest with you, as far as this one is concerned, I will not be opening it up. It's collectible (obviously) and I can't get another one as far as I know. And since I have the games anyway that I can play, there's no reason to open it. For those wondering, the B.S. on the middle one does NOT stand for bullshit, although that would be appropriate. It stands for Broadcast Satellaview. It was a broadcast tournament in Japan several years ago. Players had to log on for an hour at a specific time of the day, like 7:00 for example. It was based on a points system at the time if I remember correctly.
  4. Rare, no. The only unopened game I can think of that I have is Life Is Strange: Before The Storm at the moment. That's only because I'm still playing the first LIS, so I haven't seen a reason to open it as of yet. I know I have others, but I can't think of what they are.
  5. When you're crippled and on disability, your day is wide open. You have to find a way to keep your mind occupied or you will flat out lose it. And for someone like me, that's not a good thing if that happens. So I keep building my collection, to make absolutely sure I have something as a new experience. Granted with what I already have, that probably doesn't make sense to anyone. I even bought a few games, just because I remember desperately wanting them when I was a kid, but couldn't get them. For example, Fester's Quest on NES. I wanted it so bad when I was a kid, but at that time, NES games were $50-$60 on average. Way out of my price range in the 1980's. So I bought it a while back for less than $10 I think, just to make that wish come true. 30 years later, I don't know if I even have any real intentions of playing it. Especially after seeing AVGN's review of it. But I still wanted to get it either way. There are some that I will never stop playing, and others in the list that I haven't even played. Yet. I'll get to them at some point. I just don't know when.
  6. I don’t remember exactly, but it’s somewhere in the 3-4 year old range. It’s not too terribly old, but it’s not exactly new either.
  7. Stay away from dell. They are the worst abomination in the history of electronics. They will fuck up completely within a matter of weeks, guaranteed. I've worked on many and never seen one that didn't. As for HP, they're aimed at those of us who need a computer, but can't afford something really good. Mine is an HP all-in-one computer. At first it was great, but it's gotten slow as hell over the last couple years, and my virus scanner can't find anything wrong. I've defragged it several times to try to speed it up, but that didn't do a whole lot. So I'm thinking I'm either going to have to take it in to something like Geek Squad, or just bite the bullet and get a new one.
  8. You could be using the wrong plug size. If you check it out, a lot of controllers require the smaller (I don't remember the size number) plug. Or it could be as simple as not having it plugged in all the way. A lot of headsets fight you on plugging in completely, leaving just a little bit out of the plug. Also have you considered ear buds that have microphones as well? I use Raycons, and have no issues whatsoever.
  9. I doubt they will make a hand held system. They're the biggest in the world as far as computers go, and when they entered into the gaming world with the original Xbox, they became a beast in the market. They don't need to make one, because they are under no threat. They have their rivals, but Microsoft will never close down. So if they don't see a need for it, they most likely won't bother. I still think Nintendo is going to leave the home market and focus strictly on hand held's that can go both ways, but mainly hand held.
  10. You could always check out CraigsList. I've gotten a lot there.
  11. I have a couple that I haven't played in a while. But with the size of my library, it's impossible to play them all on a regular basis. But this list isn't even all my systems. I don't play my PS2, Xbox 360, Game Cube, or Wii anymore. So there's a lot more games that I haven't touched in forever. 12. As long as you're not a Blues fan, you'll have no problem with me. Even though I live in Missouri, I HATE THE FUCKING BLUES.
  13. For the most part, I agree with you. It’s all overpriced junk. But my disagreement all boils down individual preference. I’ve had both androids and iPhone’s. The only productive use I’ve found for android would be target practice. I think it was last spring that my iPhone 5 finally quit. So I went in for a new phone and got a brand new iPhone 6s for about $200. The iPhone X was the new one at the time, but was more than $1200, and that’s for the cheaper ones. The 6s does everything the X does, minus a pointless few things. Such as multiple camera lenses. But since it does everything I want it to, I saw no valid point in paying the extortionist price for the “latest and greatest” overpriced piece of shit. I swear, these days Apple could sandwich a turd between a plastic back and screen, and people would still go nuts for it. But the same goes for android as well.
  14. FINALLY! Another hockey fan here! I’m a lifelong hardcore Detroit Red Wings loyalist. Win or lose, I’ll never abandon them. Last season was one of our worst in the last 20. But I’m with them, win or lose. I’m going to assume you’re a fan of one of the teams north of the border? Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, or Vancouver?
  15. By the time that one was released (assuming you’re referring to Mario Land) the SMB franchise was already extremely popular.
  16. NES. No system can beat it. Games had a quality that has long since been lost. They were unique. Granted, there were a lot that we still see such as sports games, and a few franchises that are still running today. But on what other system do you see games like Marble Madness? Or how about Taboo: The Sixth Sense? Everything nowadays is a carbon copy or a sequel. Uniqueness was abandoned somewhere on the road.
  17. Various Zelda games, and FF8 mostly. I picked up a couple new ones here recently on the Nintendo eShop that I'm looking to try out when I get a minute. But all in all, Zelda and FF8 are what I mainly stick to these days. I have Skyrim on my Switch, but I'm still having trouble actually getting into it, among other games like Witcher 3. Personally I would expect those to be right up my alley as they are the genre that I enjoy the most. But I'm just having difficulty getting "involved" I guess (?) in either game. I finished a game a few days ago that I'll never be able to play again, due to how emotionally invested I got in it. RDR2
  18. I have a feeling that, after seeing the success of the Switch, Nintendo may be leaving the home console market and focus more on portable systems yet offer the ability to play on a television. Like the docking ability with the Switch. I have a Switch Lite, and absolutely love it. I'm on it all the time. It even has ports of some of my favorite games that were never offered on a Nintendo system like FF8. So if they focused on portable systems, they would be an unstoppable force since Sony and Microsoft would be focusing more on their home consoles. PSP and PS Vita never did all that well, while Game Boy and its variations (GB Color, GBA, GB Pocket, etc.) were in high demand. And to my knowledge Xbox has never even had a portable system.
  19. If I had to pick, it would be the next Nintendo. If that's not an option then I may consider a PS5. But there's no way in hell I would bring that concrete block masquerading as a console into my house.
  20. What game would you recommend the most for any Nintendo console, from NES to Switch, whether it's a Nintendo exclusive, or available on multiple platforms?
  21. There is another member I would like to nominate as well, but as we are limited to one nomination, and that member has already been nominated, my choice is @AndreiMirfi for member of the month. He has offered a lot of good posts, and been enjoyable to interact with.
  22. Current iPhone's are extremely water resistant, almost to the point of being waterproof. I use an iPhone 6S, and i have dropped it in the dogs water bowl a couple times, and it suffered no damage. If I had left it in there, it would have been shot. But they're getting better at it. There are waterproof cases on the market for iPhone's, but they're expensive as all hell, and typically only available at an Apple store, as opposed to, say, the AT&T store where you get your service. Despite the fact that you get your phone there.
  23. If Johnny Depp hadn’t been in it, then I most likely never would have seen any of them. I’m not a fan of Disney. But I am however, obsessed with both Johnny Depp and Tim Burton. Unfortunately Tim had nothing to do with the movies. An interesting little tidbit of info: They got the idea of how to design the way Davy Jones looked from seeing coffee running down the side of a coffee cup.
