Most Complicated Moral System In A Video Game Series
The Blackangel replied to killamch89's topic in Gaming Forum
I think RDR2 is a prime example. Typically people would loathe Arthur and the entire Van der Linde gang for what they do. They rob, kill, and steal as a "profession;" for lack of a better term. Yet they also defend the ones they love, and are willing to give their own lives to do it. That's a rather quick and shallow example, but there are more. Arthur can stop and help random people all over the map, he can give to charity, he can defend animals, and can do a lot of good. But he's still a killer and a thief. As are the rest of his gang, with the exception of Jack. But Jack is only about 4 years old, so that's a given. -
David Blaine claims to be able to levitate, but this guy fuckin’ proves it!

The Official Winter Soltice VGR Celebration Thread
The Blackangel replied to Shagger's topic in General Chat
My xmas dinner was a can of corn. -
I remember the keyboard. It was a limited release, and wasn't received well. It was kind of like the GameBoy camera and GameBoy printer. There were tons of other pointless and useless accessories, most that flopped selling less than 1000 units. Some that were proposed and never released. Such as the GameBoy sewing machine. Nintendo got ridiculous with that shit.

Dbrand making custom PS5 faceplates, dares Sony to sue them
The Blackangel replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
I don't know who Dbrand is, but daring someone like Sony to sue them is pretty much suicide. One of the biggest companies in the world, will have some of the most powerful attorneys in the world. There are only a handful of companies that could stand up to them. And those could most likely be counted on one hand. Microsoft Facebook General Motors Hell, that's all I can think of at the moment. You have to have some serious power to put up that kind of fight. So unless Dbrand is backed by someone like those I mentioned, they're fucked. -
Heroes vs. anti-heroes: which do you prefer?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Arthur in RDR2 is a good example of an anti-hero. He's an outlaw, and not bothered by killing people. He robs and steals anything and everything. But he does have a code of honor that he lives by. So rather than a "save the princess" rhetoric, it's more of a survival and protecting his gang mindset. He does what he has to to keep everyone going and surviving. Regardless of what that is. -
DKC and any variation of Tetris. I can't stand either, but Tetris is the worst abomination in the history of entertainment. It is nuclear shit out of the bowels of Hell that would make the Devil say "Fuck that!" within seconds of even seeing it.

I had a couple others, mostly RDR2, but can't find them at the moment. If I do find them I'll post them. And for those who can't tell, that's my horse's head sticking through a closed door.

Games that have helped you understand human nature
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Not all have a natural instinct to “do right”, as that is entirely interpretive. In war when one soldier kills one of the opposing side they have “done good” by their view, but done wrong by the other side. bin Laden thought he was doing good on 9/11. The rest of the world would mostly disagree. Take me for example. I can watch a person dying and do nothing, without feeling guilt or remorse, as human life means nothing to me. To me, if anything that’s doing good because one more is now dead. That wouldn’t be good to you though would it? As for heroes and villains, I think an anti-hero is more realistic. Take RDR2. You play as an outlaw who is a part of a gang of killers and thieves. Not exactly a hero, but you still side with him when he kills members of an enemy gang. Not just because you don’t want to die in game, but because you believe in his cause. Even though that cause is centered around criminal activity. -
Damn, isn't it WAY too early to even think about a third one? TLOU2 isn't even 6 months old yet. Have a some fucking patience people.

It's not just Twitter. There are trolls all over Reddit that apparently know more about any given OP than the Op does. I have had people educate me that some of the posts I have made are pure bullshit. It's nice to know that there is someone out there that has followed me every second of every day and knows absolutely everything about me to the point that they know exactly how many hairs are on my fucking head. Apparently people on Reddit are now required to run posts by these fuckwads to make sure about whether it's true or not.

The Official Winter Soltice VGR Celebration Thread
The Blackangel replied to Shagger's topic in General Chat
And from those of us that are/will be alone, have fun and get drunk with us. Especially if, like me, the holidays mean absolutely nothing to you. -
I remember it well, but never had one of my own. Some cousins of mine were Sega fans instead of Nintendo, and had every Sega add on and Sega system that came out. Sega Saturn, Sega CD, 32X, Game Gear, Nomad, Dreamcast, all of it. I wasn't all that into it, mainly because I'm a Nintendo girl. But if memory serves me correct, they had a lot of issues with it. I don't remember all of them, but I remember them saying that the system ran really violently and scratched the discs a lot. They said their friends who had the system had the same issues. I think that was why it didn't sell all that well.

KFC's KFConsole Is Real: Secret Ingredient Is Intel Silicon
The Blackangel replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
>bangs head many times< For the love of the Gods, will someone please tell me this is just a bullshit joke, and that all we saw was an advertisement for a cooking utensil REFERRED TO as a "console" for some misbegotten reason? Maybe it's one of those air fryers or something? "We're having chicken tonight, Where's that chicken console at?" -
I took about 6-7 months to work on it when I was in my 20's and came up with a decent drawing of Squall's Gunblade. Typically I can't even draw a stick figure, so it took a hell of a lot of work. Literally several hours daily for those months and it still wasn't very good. The stick figure was better.

Games you love despite truly awful bugs
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
One that I'm sure most don't remember is a bug in Zelda Ocarina Of Time. It happens when you try to jump from one platform to another. Link will make it but will get stuck at the corner, and the game will start jerking him up and down on the corner really fast and get stuck doing that. I'm not even touching the controller and it stays there doing that to the point that your only option is to reset the game and lose all your progress since the last time you saved. It's infuriating. And it happens way more often than people would think. It's the main reason why I have gotten into the habit of saving every 3 minutes. And do I even need to mention any specific Atari games? Buggy as hell, both due to age and the tech of the time, but completely worth it. -
Gaming merch that should exist but doesn't

Life size statues of favorite characters would be really neat. Expensive as hell obviously, but still really cool to have. -
Games that have helped you understand human nature
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I don't think games really grasp it, as they're a narrative of another time and/or place. If you want to know how worthless humans and human nature are, all you have to do is look out your front door. -
Repetitious tasks tied to the main quests of video games
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Killing enemy gang members in RDR2 is tied to the story, but not required. Sure, you can loot the bodies and the camp they had set up, as there are usually only 4-6 of the idiots there. But it's no requirement. And you don't usually get anything that's of any real value. Maybe 50¢ per body. If you're lucky you'll get a decent watch or buckle that you can sell. You'll find some food, some liquor, and usually some ammunition. But it's almost not really worth the hassle unless they're in your way, you're trying to complete a challenge, or you just have a sudden bloodlust. -
Have you served? Have you fought? I doubt it. I have. So don't give me that "from the comfort of your home" bullshit.
-
I can tell you right now, that the older you get, the faster time goes.

Some people will be rather cold, but it's not meant as rudeness. It's just the way we (myself included) are. There are some of us that are difficult to interact with, but the staff do a good job of keeping things as civil as possible. So no need to worry about any kind of hostility. Sure there are a couple dicks, but with a forum this size it's more or less to be expected. You will find a wealth of knowledge of pretty much all gaming here. From classic gamers, to those ready for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. There's pretty much nothing that can't be answered here.

With the price being $389.99, someone is obviously drunk.

I would go for the PS5, because then at least you have to option to buy digital or physical.

Transferring Dragon Age Inquisition save from PS3 to PS5?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Video Games
I highly doubt it since the PS3 is so old. The hardware of the PS5 is so much more advanced than the PS3 I would be willing to bet that the file type isn't even compatible, unless the PS5 plays PS3 discs. But to my knowledge it's only reverse compatible with PS4 games.
