  1. @Rain Dew and I have a gaming channel. So far it's mostly her playthroughs on Tomb Raider and short clips I caught on RDR2. We don't have a lot of content as of right now, but we're building things up slowly.

As far as success or making money from the channel goes, neither of us care about that. We just thought it would be a fun thing to do. Whether we have one subscriber or one million subscribers is all the same to us. We're having fun doing it. That's all we care about when it comes to our channel. That's all I care about when it comes to my other two channels that are all my own.

  2. In RDR2, Arthur says something to Mrs. Downes that mirrors something that I have thought for as long as I can remember.

"You speak as if killing was something I care about."

I have felt that same thing my entire life. Killing isn't anything big to me. Kill someone and it's one less problem in your life, then continue on with what you were doing. Don't waste your time worrying about it. If it's in the midst of a drug deal, whoop-dee-fucking-doo. If someone has hone out of their way to be a thorn in your side, a bullet solves that problem. If you've never killed, ok. If you have killed, ok.

  3. You could try getting into some of the God Of War games. Like God Of War 1,2,3, Chains Of Olympus, Ghost Of Sparta, and Ascension. They're great games, and you can beat them in the time frame you're looking for. I would have suggested Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice if @Shagger hadn't beat me to it.

Bro Sonic was on the Sega Genesis, Mario was strictly Nintendo.

@Kennysplash You really need to get your systems and facts right. You're on a gaming forum. And the fact that you made this blunder is like a cardinal sin. If we had sins. Everyone fucks up (TBH I do more than anyone else here) but just make sure you get the basics right. I'm not trying to bitch at you or come down on you, I'm just trying to give you a bit friendly of advice as a fellow member, not as a mod.

    Other than that, great topic.🙂

  5. Rockstar, is out of their fucking minds. They have no case, as the two logos are in no way similar. Just because the company uses the same letter, which is the first letter of the name their company as their logo, does not mean that someone else with the same first letter can sue them.

Rockstar is going to get laughed out of the courtroom like the greedy bastards they are.

It's pretty hard to think about what Microsoft is going to name the next Xbox console, but will they even actually come out with a new one next generation? They already have the weakest sales, their PC Game Pass is probably going to be the thing that kills their console market so they'll probably eventually stick to being a software developer like what happened with Atari and Sega. Many people already just use PC Game Pass to get access to the Xbox titles they want to play so they don't feel the need to buy a Xbox Series X. However if they actually do come out with a new console, it's no telling what they'll call it. We got the Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One (for all in one even though it was confusing, still not as bad as Nintendo going with the Wii U after the Wii), and now Series X/S. Their naming scheme isn't as straightforward as Sony lol.

Xbox has it's dedicated fan base just like PlayStation and Nintendo. And just like PlayStation and Nintendo, that fan base is huge. So they're not going to be leaving the console market anytime soon. They're one of the Big 3. Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox completely dominate the market, and none of them are going anywhere anytime soon. There are former and smaller devs out there, but unless lightning strikes, they will never be in the market competing with the Big 3. Sega consoles failed. Atari couldn't keep up. I don't even know what they're doing now. I think they're making games, but I honestly have no clue.

Also, Nintendo and PlayStation need Xbox on the market. They need another competitor, or there could end up being a monopoly, on the virtually nonexistent chance that 2 of the Big 3 fail. Monopolies are illegal here in the states. I don't know if it's like that worldwide, but I wouldn't be surprised. Bill Gates was forced by the government to bail out Mac, or he would have had a monopoly.

I think I was under leveled and didn't want to grind.

Just go to either The Island Closest To Hell or The Island Closest To Heaven. The monsters there will level you up quick. I personally recommend going to Hell over Heaven. The monsters there are a better selection. Also the draw points there give you some of the best spells in the game and can make you virtually invincible if you draw a full 100 and junction them right. But you have to have the Ragnarok which means you will have had to save Rinoa first. Also if you go to the Elnoyle you can draw Pain from it which is one of the best spells in the game to junction to your ST-def.

How many GF's have you missed, and which ones were/are they?

    Just to list them:
    ‡‡Jumbo Cactuar
    ‡Tonberry King

‡ - GF's you can get any time. If there are two of them then you have to have the Ragnarok.
    * - Gf's you have one chance to get until you reach Ultimecia's castle.
Ifrit isn't marked because he is the only GF in the game that you're required to get.

  8. I agree with @Ravenfreak on this. Save up and get a Series X/S. Fame on PC until you have the $ for the new console. You can actually sell non working systems for a decent amount of money. Try Craigslist. People buy them pretty quick if they're recent systems. You could probably get somewhere in the range of $40-$50 for it. Not bad if you ask me. But if you're worried about your stuff being stolen and used, then I would just stick it int the closet and either let it collect dust or sell/give it to someone you trust. Like a friend or family member. They might be able to do something with it. As long as you tell them what the problem with it is before they take it.

  9. There's literally no telling. Microsoft does the goofiest shit when naming their Xbox's to the point that it's impossible to know until the damn thing hits the frickin market. It could be the Xbox Spider. Or Xbox 45. Maybe Xbox Pistol. Or even Xbox Cherry Pie. Who the hell knows what they'll come up with.

  10. Ho. Ly. Shit.

The kid broke Tetris. I didn't even know that was possible. I thought it just went on forever getting faster and faster. Yet he was so damn good at the game that he was able to last longer than it and beat the game. There are very few games that could possibly be considered endless. Tetris being one. The kid deserves some kind of medal from a gaming commission or eSports or something for an achievement like this.

And the cunt that was talking shit should be tarred and feathered, then tied to the back of a truck and drug down a path that is lined with video game carts. Hopefully she gets a few stuck up her ass before the ride is over. That or whacked in the head with an N64 until it's beaten in to her head that gaming has a lot more to offer than she wants to admit. A lot of people have careers in gaming. Actors, developers, and players just to name a few. It's all there. And it's not going anywhere but forward. If we were to see another gaming crash like we did back in '83, a hell of a lot of areas in the economy would collapse, and there would be a worldwide depression like in 1929. The stock market would tank like never before seen. Lets see how much she would enjoy that.

  11. The earliest game I can remember Rockstar making was DKC on the SNES. But since then, the GTA and RDR franchises have been so wildly successful that they focus on them because those are their cash cows. I mean just look around this forum and see how much talk there has been about a possible GTA6. There has been less talk of a possible RDR3, but it has been brought up. When someone sees success with something they tend to ride that horse for as long as they can.

Considering how I see Rockstar as being one of the best studios and they make the best games, I would LOVE to see them come out with some new and original games. But, RDR and GTA are where the money's at, so that's where they're sticking.

I started by playing super Mario on Sega

When was Super Mario on Sega? The rivalry between Nintendo and Sega was so fierce that there's no way Nintendo would have leased their mascot game to their rival.

Now to answer the thread question, I would have to know what gen and platform they're starting off on. I wouldn't recommend anything that goes too in depth. Meaning I would leave most AAA games out at the time. I would integrate them in slowly with what their interests are and go from there.

  13. The only game I can think of that I do like this is FF8, I play it to the third disc era, and then just go around collecting items, trying to get a full 100 of them all. The fourth disc era is so boring because you're doing nothing but making your way through Ultimecia's castle. That's it. It bores the ever living shit out if me. Also the bosses and Ultimecia herself are so damn easy to beat, it's ridiculous. So I give myself at least one last challenge.

  14. I don't really shop on FB. I get mine from either eBay or Craigslist. But my current library is pretty much complete for what I play. There are other games that I have played in the past that I enjoyed, but I don't own them, and at this current moment have no plans to buy them. However, when I see a gaming bundle on CL, I move quick to buy it, regardless of what all is in it. And I always find a gold nugget in there.

So my advice is to just be patient and keep your eyes open.

  15. If there's no storyline, there's no game. It has no point unless it's some kind of puzzle game like Tetris or Myst. If you're playing a game with any kind of characters that you control, there MUST be a story. Can you imagine if Skyrim, RDR2, or even Zelda had no story in it? You were just screwing around doing nothing because there was no aim of any kind? That's a pure waste of time in every way. from every angle if you ask me. Now if you have played a game to the final end, and it doesn't actually give you any kind of quests anymore (RDR2 epilogue for example) then you can play that if it interests you. I have a file that's in the epilogue. I'm just filling my compendium, and doing completely random things. I'm thinking I might record an epilogue video for the YouTube channel @Rain Dew and I have. I just haven't decided yet. There's a lot of things that you can't do until you're in the epilogue, such as finish Herbalist 9. So it's an idea. I might start doing some educational videos about things like astronomy on one of my other channels.

As usual I'm rambling and getting off topic. Again.
I really need to learn how to shut the hell up.

Yes a story is crucial to games except puzzle games like Tetris, Myst, or any other in that genre.

  16. I highly doubt it. Most games (at least that I come across) are scripted to run on a computer and not on a Mac. Games like Diablo and AoE can't run on a Mac. I know AoE was made by Microsoft, so that one may be a moot point. But that aside, there aren't many games compatible with the system because virtually no one uses a Mac. People prefer computers. Computers are compatible with pretty much everything. So I would bet my car that Mac is going to stay in the mobile phone market for the most part.

  17. On new years eve I go to bed early. The fireworks always make me have flashbacks and I end up crawling across the floor on my belly with a gun in my hand. I don't need that shit, and @Rain Dew DEFINITELY doesn't need it. So on New Years's I head to bed around 6:00 or 7:00 to try to make sure I'm out before people start setting off explosions. It's why the 4th of July is the worst time of year for me. I don't need shit making me going back to that time.

  18. What is everyone's stance on how to handle this? There are tons of examples. Like people in Florida getting a Burmese python as a pet and then releasing it in the Everglades when it gets too big for them. Or in the 1940's when the Countess of Arran released wallabies on Inchconnachan Island in Loch Lomond in Scotland. Those are only two examples. There's tons more.

In my opinion, people need to take their heads out of their asses and think of what they're doing to the environment. Especially BEFORE they get the animal. The animals native to their location should be the priority. The only reason people should see a wallaby in Scotland is because they're at the damn zoo. And in many cases, these animals are completely out of manageable control and taking over. The pythons in Florida are so high in numbers that, at the moment, there's no plausible way to eliminate them. They're feeding on the alligator population and potentially going to kill them all because there are so many that are feeding all the time. We have lost that war. @Shagger and @Crazycrab are the ones I want to hear from about the wallabies. Especially because I'm pretty sure that wallabies aren't built to handle the kind of winters you get, being so far north.

But what does everyone else think about this kind of situation? Is there anything we can do to get it all under control and/or fix the situation?

Wait, isn’t the point of collecting certain things the whole point that the value goes up?? Collecting something expecting the market to be affordable for all is completely redundant.

Yes, but in this case, people are panicking over something that simply isn't happening. No one is going to buy a loose copy of SMB3 for $100. That's idiotic. Nowadays you would be EXTREMELY lucky if you got $10 for it. And it was the most popular NES title ever. Collectors like being discussed here are the ones who want graded, perfect copies. The kind that you keep sealed, never open, and damn sure never play. Thus, they go to special auctions to buy them. Gamers like us however; we buy the game to play it, not to use it for our retirement. The panic has no basis in reality.
