If I had a choice to go out and buy a game or whatever the case, no matter what I buy I always support the family-owned business and keep them going 🙂 Big main company has far more life and able to live, well maybe not after the covid. However digital downloads are killing them both. cheap, fast and get the game downloaded.

I hate it when this happens, but I have to agree with you. There are people who will never give up the systems they played as a child, and emulators aren't accepted. I'm one of them. It's the real thing or nothing with me. I would rather spend 2 hours fucking with my NES trying to get a game to run and have only 5 minutes of play before it glitches and refuses to run at all that day, than use an emulator and have zero issues.
But there is hope. There are tons of retro clothing stores. Clothing styles of yesteryear are becoming popular again. I remember how we all dressed in the 80's. for little kids, if your shirt didn't have anything on the back, wearing it was social suicide. Unless you were EXTREMELY popular. Of which I was not. So when I see someone with an 80's style hairdo, clothes, and carrying a keytar, I always tell them "Rock On Dude!" and they usually know that I'm a child of the 80's as well. The best thing about that decade was that even us losers were cool.
    *sigh*
    I miss it.

Being a classic gamer, I can guarantee that as long as I can play, the old stuff will never be forgotten. I got my PhD in Console Emergency Surgery when I was 5. I know how to administer CPR to a Nintendo better than anyone. So I’m going to keep them all alive.

I wonder if they'd include carrying the "entertainers" to the most remote places of the kingdom to "mate" like in GTA 5 with the hookers.

Usually the mom & pop shops have more games to choose from and often times cooler stuff. I wish there was more gaming stores around me. I think we still have a gamestop around here, but I think the other gaming stores have closed, or they're further away from where I live. 😞

I like the deals with lifetime license or one time payment sort of the deal. It's hard to find software with some of such payment plans lately, as everyone takes yearly fees.

I thought it was the other way around. Well it was def something not worth watching, I think gaming awards became to "political" and "Commercial".
    Same here.

    Agreed so much with this!

Do you guys remember when gaming mags allowed you to put orders in for exclusive products? I remember some magazines would have exclusive rights to sell some games and give away certain gaming memorabilia. I miss those days where you could get exclusive stuff no one else could elsewhere. I remember you could put an order in for random things, but I sadly never took advantage.
Do you guys remember getting any cool games, swag, and other stuff from gaming magazines back in the day? And I'm not referring to demo discs though.

I find it hard to believe that they can afford to spend ~£450 on a brand new video games console to resell and not make said ~£450 go far if they need it. I get it, 'supply and demand' and 'asset flipping' are all valid strategies of making more money in the system we live in, and I slow clappingly applaud them on the dubious honour of their bots winning the race to resell a popular item.
I say hard to believe and not 'impossible' because there probably are one or two people who desperately need not just £450, but more than that going forward, and wouldn't do this if they could swallow their pride and do better. I'm sure one or two had resorted to selling furniture to no avail, relying on food banks, changing their phone's data plans or Hell, selling their current ones for an older model that can still support the internet for their job and to scalp. But not the hundreds or however many are doing this.

killamch89 reacted to Shagger in Will there ever be a Football game to compete with EA again?
There are two kinds of people in this world. People who buy EA Sports video games and people with an IQ high enough to actually spell IQ. Those games are made for idiots without any recognition that they're being exploited and are completely beyond help. A change in developer is not going to cure that. Those people like being exploited and the game company involved, whether it be EA or somebody else, would be more than happy to provide for them. So the short version of this answer is no, a change in developer would make no difference.

killamch89 reacted to Withywarlock in If on PC, do you prefer your video games online or you buy the cases?
I'm mostly digital now. There's only two times I can think of where I might go physical: 1, when I want some tat like a statuette that comes with it, or 2, should my partner and I be able to go on a shopping trip and it's a talking point for when we eat out. With coronavirus and all, high street shopping is neither safe nor smart, especially in the place we'd like to go which is indoors and while spacious, has limited ventilation. So I'm afraid it's going to be almost exclusively digital, especially as the games industry gives me less reason to trust it with exclusive tat attached to appalling games.

I personally don't like motion blur because it makes no sense to have the objects around you being blured lol .
But if you think it's useless, then you should try "invert mouse" option in mouse settings xD

ANYTHING THAT YOU DON"T NEED TO WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER. So basically what I am screaming is, that I eat pizza with a knife and fork, and if you are against it, we can discuss it civilly over a twitter war. Fight me you hand eaters(Not eating actual hands, if you do for the love of god stay away from my hands).

killamch89 reacted to m76 in Most motivating rewards in games
The best reward is a well written story. I don't need carrots to finish games. All I wish for is that the game properly acknowledges your deeds with a proper epilogue. Very few games get this right. Most end abruptly without any closure.
As for optional quest rewards, the best motivator is a  cool looking outfit. And that is why the popular opinion "cosmetic only microtransactions are fine" is bullshit. Getting better and more cool looking armor pieces is  a core mechanic of every adventure game. Taking that aspect away makes the game worse. And I'll never pay for any in-game item with real money ever. And even if I did, buying something vs getting it as a reward for a quest is not the same.

I tend to avoid Star Citizen as a subject matter because I know from experience that trying to engage with the fanbase is a waste of time. They are the most illogically loyal people you will ever find. They take fanboyism to a whole new level. They will feed this scam, and it is a scam, tens of millions of dollars year after after year.

I'm actually dead serious, as a forum mod, when I say l will ban people for peddling this scam on VGR, and I'm not kidding.

killamch89 got a reaction from Family sedan in Do PS5 scalpers have any legitimate defense for their actions?
There's no real defense of their practices because every one else is also being affected by Covid. I think most retailers need to start implementing captcha (the difficult ones) among other strategies to limit the scalper's business and make it time-consuming and ineffective. Then again, most retailers only care about the money they receive so...

killamch89 got a reaction from Family sedan in Would you buy a scalped console?
No way! I'd just wait for a couple of months until the supply catches up to the demand and purchase it for the original market price. Consoles aren't an essential item so I can do without it for a few months.

killamch89 got a reaction from m76 in Games recommended to you a lot you still have not played?
I'd say that Outlast is more bloody and gory and some of the imagery (ambience and monsters) is absolutely terrifying like something out of a horror film - I highly recommend getting both games.. As for Alien isolation, the best tactic is to use things like flashbang and noisemakers and throw it where the npcs are and use them as a distraction. The thing that makes Alien Isolation is that the Alien learns how you play and adapts accordingly so if you like to hide in lockers, it'll start to search every locker in the area and if stay in one spot too long it'll eventually find you.
