  1. This sounds so cool. I know you'll do well at this and I'm sure your students will appreciate you. Once again, congratulations!
  2. PC all the way. I'd even go so far to say that I don't want mobile games on PC. Mobile gaming is just a joke to me. That coming from the guy who just bought a brand new Xiaomi Mi 10T pro on contract, so I might have to reconsider just to make that worth it. I know of games like Genshin Impact that are cross play, so maybe, but I'm unlikely to catch the bug of mobile gaming anytime soon.
  3. IGN posts a now deleted article in the aim of promotion of charities hiding in humanitarian efforts in the regions affected buy the recent escalation in the conflict between Palestine and Israel. I'm sure many of you have heard about this on social media or news media, but I'll link a wiki page detailing some of the history here. Werther that was the intention or not, the article did come of pro-Palestine in it's wording, but most likely this is because far more Palestine civilians have been killed or made homeless by the recent violence, but this was probably a mistake and i'll get to that later. After the article and tweet from IGN was posted and garnered a massive amount attention and support, IGN Israel made a statement condemning IGN for the action. The twitter post and article were both deleted about a day later. and IGN made another statement apologising for the article and making it clear that they were in support of humanitarian efforts and charities regardless of the politics of the given situation and would not "take a side" in such situations. IGN did also announce a $25,000 donation to Save the Children, so kudos at least for that. The staff working on the floor of IGN, not the management, were appalled by this action and dozens of them singed an open letter to IGN's higher ups and parent companies to express their displeasure and demanded clarification as to why this happened. And no, despite how displeased IGN Israel were, they not responsible for the deletion, for reasons better explained in the video below. It seams that commercial and political pressure was more likely to have lead to the articles' removal. Video games journalist, writer and former IGN employee Alanah Pearce weighs in on the situation with far more detail, context, understanding and clarity than I could in this video. I strongly advise you to watch this video before posting what you think. Now, to get personal. I hate Israel, and I don't think they are the force for good and peace that they think they are. They have treated Palestinians' like stepped on shit for decades and yet that the arrogance to be proud of themselves. I see through the façade they show to the rest of the world and that everyone else seems to buy, especially America. I will say that in Israel's defence their mistrust of their enamouring nations has been justified by the violence brought to them by those nations, especially since the end of WW2, but the segregation and treatment of Palestinians has never felt right with me. Israel need to just let Palestinians govern themselves and fuck off. I was actually glad to see the people, at least on the ground floor, of IGN sending support where it belonged. It still probably wasn't the smartest thing to do to have the article appear to take one side the way it did, but at least it was the right side imo. What you you think about this? Again, I feel it is important to watch the video first.
  4. I don't mind gore or violence in a game, but I do very much prefer it when it has context in the game. Otherwise, it just comes off as juvenile and that dose rub me the wrong way. I'd say the same thing about sex in games, and to be honest, I feel the juvenile problem does show itself more often there.

Welcome to VGR. If there's anything I can help with, just ask. Can you leave a link to your YouTube channel?
  6. I'm refuse to comment on this because this doesn't deserve that level of care from me... except I just did... damb it.

I understand that English my not be your first language, but without a clearer description of the problem we won't be able to help. It does sound like a similar problem described in the video below, so I'll post that in the hope that will help.
  8. Love the rant. There is so many things in the Zelda series that are nonsensical and with little to no connection to the other games it's actually kind of amazing. It is fairly easy to ignore some of this and take each game as it's own interpretation of the Zelda story. Still a great series, but one would have an easier time trying to understand the Crimean War then trying to understand the timeline and links between the Zelda games.
  9. I actually did try this triple fired egg sandwich with chilli sauce and chutney described in this Red Dwarf sketch ones and it was genuinely the strangest culinary experience of my life. My feet got hot, literally.
  10. That's not an acronym. P.T. was actually a game. Developed by Kojima Productions (Under the direction of Hideo Kojima himself) and published by Komani, PT was a first person horror game released on the PS4 as a kind of promo or demo for an unnamed, upcoming horror game, eventfully confirmed as a new Silent Hill game called Silent Hills. However, that game was cancelled, relationships between Kojima and Komani deteriorated (as I'm sure you're aware) and the ever spiteful publisher removed PT from the PlayStation store, eventually removing a re-download option for those who had actually bought it, because FucKonami. A damn shame that was too as PT was very well received.
  11. I'd also have to put Tidus and Yuna up there (FFX). You were just desperate to see them make it. Ellie and Dana (TLOU2). Those two were their for each other, especially Dana to Ellie, through some serious and it was so nice to see them happy whenever they were. I'm putting this over Ellie and Riley because that was more a surprise and the romance barely got a chance to get started, although I don't doipt it would have blossemed if they had been given a chance. Chloe and Max (LiS). Maybe this cheating a little bit given that the romance is an option and if you choose it the relationship is still a friendship as much as anything, but there's no denying the connection between these two. It's subtle, but natural and works well into the story. Yennefer and Geralt (The Witcher series). Again, maybe a little bit of cheating given that the games are based on books, but this is an interesting one because these two make it so difficult for each other, yet you still believe in them. Mario and Princess Peach (Mario series). These two managed to turn "Plumber saves Girl from Dragon" into a cliché all of it's own, and that cliché is still going strong after over 35 years. Enough said.
  12. In terms of story, there's no reason to player older games to know what its going on with newer ones. Each Final Fantasy is set it it's own unique universe with it's own indigenous characters and stories. So when it comes to narrative, the series is very kind to new players. FF games were all turn based JRPG's up until FFXII that had more of a live combat/open world approach, so if you're not into turn based combat, anything before XII is probably not the right place to start. The more recent release of Final Fantasy XII called The Zodiac Age might actually be a good place to start as it does play like a modern western PRG in a lot of ways, but is still very much bilt on strategy like all FF games are. The Final Fantasy VII Remake is 100% modern and is a great game overall, but I would say I don't think the narrative is as good as it is in XII, but that's just me. Most others FF fans would probably disagree. If the turn based combat does appeal, then without doubt the right place to start is with the Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remaster, especially if you can get it on PC. That includes two huge games and another super story. FF X-2 was the first sequel in the franchises history, which is interesting given that series had been going so long even at the time. Whatever you do though, avoid anything Final Fantasy XII because that's garbage.
  13. That's giving the game files and DRM a chance to verify the copy, so long as the second computer is online that would work, but I think what the OP is trying to do is copy the files from one device onto another and just play the game. More specifically, a PC to a disk to be read by a console. That wouldn't work.
  14. If such things were doable, everyone would do it. the Digital Rights Management (DRM) that is implemented on games from Steam and most other PC game sores make it very difficult to copy games onto disk in a way that they could be re-installed and played on another computer, never mind a console. Then there's what @Patrik said about compatibility problems between consoles and PC's. Consoles are designed, both in software and hardware, to only recognise the physical game disks or cartridges they were meant to play. To change that would require basically replacing the dick drive and the operating system of the console as well as bypassing the safeguards that have been put in place to prevent such tampering. Sadly, @The Blackangel, I have to tell you that what you're looking to do is pretty much impossible.
  15. I've never known of a forum that would allow account deletion. Even if an account is no longer being used, there's a number of reasons why it still has to exist. It's not a practical thing to implement. Suspending, restricting and banning accounts is already available and deleting an account completely would delete all of that individuals posts including topics they started, so other peoples posts could be lost as well. It can cause issues with security as it could free up previously banned e-mail addresses and posts already made from a "deleted" account would also be impossible to reference and track. Not to mention if the individual behind the account decided they wanted to come back they would have to pass the security check again and start from zero posts. The only pieces of personal information that is stored on VGR is an e-mail address and the forum password and they are secure. That's why when bots and spammers attack the site they have to leave links for you click on because it's difficult to get what they need from the site on it's own. Still, as well as the staying safe online advice posted on VGR, here is a couple of tips to ensure that there is no risk to abandoning an account on VGR if you, or anyone, does not want to participate anymore. Use a unique password for VGR. If in the unlikely event your VGR login info was stolen having a password that you only use here will keep other accounts and services you use with that e-mail safe. If you ever decide to leave VGR, change your password to something unique before leaving the site behind. If you go to a log in page for anything, not just VGR, always check the URL of the site before logging in, especially if opening the link from an email. This is good advice for everything you may do online. If something doesn't look right (odd characters, a word misspelled), do NOT log in. Delete cookies for the site from your browser. This will mean someone using the same computer would have to input the password manually to log in again. So whilst account deletion is not something that is likely to ever be implemented here, please be assured that there is no reason to be concerned. We want our door to always remain open for people to come back and even if they don't, their contribution is still a valuable and important part of the communities' history and should be preserved. I hope that helped you out @AndreiMirfi, but if you or anyone else has any further questions on the issue, please let either myself or @DC know and we'll do our best to help you.
  16. How long before some Ubisoft executive says; "We had to add these vastly more egregious microtransactions to the new, premium Assassin's Creed because we don't think it's fair that only those players who play our free-to-play version should have access to these choice items."
  17. I can't game accurately with a M/K unless it's a proper gaming mouse with plenty of customisable button settings. I use a Logitech G502 Hero gaming mouse. This is a wired gaming mouse that has two mechanical resistance settings for it mouse wheel, adjustable DPI, customisable RGB settings (although this mouse isn't that flash, but I call that a plus point), 11 programmable buttons and a compartment underneath to add weights to customise the physical balance. One has to find and download the software to customise the button settings which is a little annoying, you would expect the instructions to at least give you a link or be able to download the software automatically, but once you have it, it's easy to use even for a monkey like me (Link here to save you or anyone else the trouble). I certainly won't claim to be an expert in gaming mice, but I like using this one. It's comfortable to hold, feels sturdy and the buttons are mostly easy to reach with little adjustment of the wrist at the most. I will say it's a little disappointing that you can only have five button profiles and I'd say that's not enough, especially if one plays a verity of games. I also can't seem to sync the RGB lighting with the in-built keyboard on this laptop, it appears that only works with a separate one. Overall, I'd recommend it, but don't take my word for it, other members might have other mice to recommend.
  18. With the problem resolved, I suppose there's little need for this thread anymore. Glad you managed to sort it out. Locked.
  19. Any multilayer game is better with friends and it need not be hard to organise. Forums, social media and expecially Discord make both organising playing these types of game together and communicating with each other during the game fairly straight forward.
  20. There's been several topics about basically the same thing, so I decided to just merge them together. I apologise for any confusion this has caused.
  21. Maybe that's what you should have said...
  22. "Did anyone know that for the first year and a half McDonalds were unable to have meat patty's in their hamburgers? I heard from a talking gherkin in my sleep, so it must be true. Of course they were wildly successful anyway, so why wouldn't history repeat itself?" Google CEO, Sundar Pichai
