  1. Just because collectively Microsoft have already made twice the money the spend on this since that deal, doesn't mean that aforementioned deal has been worth it to them yet, it's as not simple as that. Buying Zenimax won't be a profitable deal for Microsoft nor it's investors untill that deal makes them money directly on it own, that's how it works. It's goes to show how much Microsoft actuality makes for us all to stare in awe, but is anybody actually that surprised?
  2. Moving this to the PlayStation Sub-Forum as this isn't really focused on a specific deal and is more a matter for regular forum discussion. They've been there a while. I bought Primal a good while back. They run at a higher resolution so they'll display properly on modern TV sets, but they look pretty much the same as the did on PS2.
  3. Joy many Jaicee's does it take to change a light bulb? (Sorry, I don't take these things very seriously, I just make jokes)
  4. A quick question. What do you mean "We are Back" when this is literally your first post on VGR? You could have at least made it look like this wasn't a copy/paste piece of SSP. We don't appreciate people here who use our forum like free billboard to promote their YouTube channel or whatever. That's why I'm locking this thread and removing that image. Offer a real and honest contribution to the community, and I tell you the response will be more possible and we'd never far more likely to support you and your channel.
  5. A little update. I'm now playing the game on console (PS4 Pro) as it was recently reduced in price. This would obviously have been optimised for console hardware as all concole games are, so the frame rate issues seen on my laptop are gone and the I would say the sharper textures can be seen more easily, most likely due to a larger screen than my laptop. However, there are still issues with odd graphical glitches and pop-ins (on character models, mostly) that I just don't remember being there the first I played the game. So, whilst I call the version at least playable and does actually boast more visual improvement (but again, it's on different screen), I still have a hard time recommending it, at least untill the new expansion is released.
  6. I'm very sad to learn that one of the world's most talented 3D digital artists and the man responsible for creating The Thunderjaw and the other iconic robotic creatures in Horizon: Zero Dawn, one of my favourite games, has passed away aged just 36. Mike Nash was best known and most revered for his work on HZD, but has had shown talent in creating beautiful, realistic, futuristic designs for many years. The design of the machines in Horizon: Zero Dawn was such a huge part of the game's identity that it's impossible to understate just how critical Mike's work was to the game's success and a huge part of what we so loved about the game. It's a shame he won't see the last of his work published as part of Horizon: Forbidden West later this year and even sadder that's the last any of us will likely see of it. Here's a Game Rant article on the story. I thought I'd share some images of his designs as a little tribute. RIP.

    Hey gang!

    Welcome to VGR.
  8. Can you provide a more specific example? It's just that, to me, it sounds your describing what's simply a very badly designed game.
  9. Both @Patrik and @StaceyPowers have been referencing open word games in this thread, and honesty, I think that's a little unfair because these types of games by their nature get can't tell their stories in the same purposefully structured and deliberately paced manner a more liner game can. There are open world games that make it work, but they usually do so by barring of side activities and side stories from the main story in a very rigid manner and telling a less complex story that's easier to relate to. So I admire game companies who create open world games that do try to blur those lines between side quests and main story a little and try to tell a more challenging story.
  10. The Steal Battle Axe of Firey Soals (to learn the enchantment), Azura's Star (or the Black Star) and maxed out Smithing and Enchanting skill.
  11. Once again, welcome to VGR.
  12. I remember the Capcom that thought DLC stood for "Disc Locked Content". I think it was Marvel Vs Capcom 3 where the characters meant to be exclusive to the PlayStation (a dick move all by itself) were actually on the Xbox dics along with, of course, the DLC characters. It was unbelievable, and they defended this by saying the put the DLC on the disk for "player convenience", in that people wouldn't have to download the characters before being able to use them. Utterly ridiculous. However, I feel that Capcom are a very different company now. Somewhere around the launch of the PS4 and XB1, an unfortunate yet justified lack in consumer confidence in the company lead them to a point whare they were in very real trouble financially. A lot of upcoming games were cancelled and they barely survived. However, they saw the error in their ways and started to bring some real quality and value back to into their games, turned back on the business practices that had put people off from buying their products and they slowly rebuild both their business and their reputation. So, I'm not surprised to see this version of Capcom taking a stand like this and I'm glad they are.
  13. Gamepass is a service that allows access to a library of games on your PC and Xbox console. If that streaming service denied access to certain games just because you've accessed the service on one device rather than the other that would be wrong on a whoal new level. So no, Gamepass should absolutely not have more game just for PC users. Likewise, it shouldn't have games that are only available on the console version either. If that does in fact happen, then it's disgusting and Microsoft should be ashamed of themselves.
  14. Using a USB external storage for games is not the first thing I'd recommend. I'd strongly advise you upgrade your internal storage instead. A 2tb SATA SSD like this one would be a good shout. It has adequate storage, reduced load times whem compared to a HDD and much better compared to external storage. They're not desperately expensive any more either. If you can, keep the hat Rd drive you already have to store your operating system and core programs and use a new drive separately for game storage.
  15. Being of a certain age, the Nintendo system that brought the best memories would be the Nintendo 64. Zelda OOT, Banjo Kazooie, DK 64, 1080 Snowboarding, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Mario 64, Lylat Wars (Starfox 64), the list goes on. That would be answer for genuine topic of this title, but I wonder why this is your very first post... What's with the hashtags? What's with the wording? Why such specific questions with your very first post? Where dose the non-mentioned "it" slot into the very non-mentioned "whare" into the very non-mentioned "what"? VGR is not a commercial research facility and it's members are not rats in a maze. Untill you answer my questions, we're not answering yours, and so this topic is locked until you do.
  16. Hello and welcome to VGR. I'm very sorry, but with my tools as moderator I can't edit your screen name. I'll check with the VGR Admin @DC, but I think these are permanent. Please don't let this from being a part of our community. My name is at least 5 times as stupid, and I'm a moderator. Please, accept this welcome to to community and promise we (the staff) will do all we can to help you. And even if we can't, stay with assurance nobody will judge you.
  17. First off, I have to acknowledge that I'm not American and I don't live in America, but still express my right to say shit America's politics affects pretty much everyone. True, the numbers I posted don't necessarily reflect reality, but as someone who is liberal and impartial to US politics, I have to offer a little bit of bitter truth here. Those who don't have residency and/or are in your country illegally don't have a right to vote, and like it or not, that is the way it should be. My country (Scotland) is under the regional rule of a political and party that wants to give prisoners a right to vote because they reckon that will increce the chances of votes in their political favour. All against a democratic decision made over 6 years ago that they themselves promised was a "once in generation" vote that they have refused to accept like very worst of COD bitches. To summarize, living in America without being a registered citizen doesn't automatically give one the right to vote in American politics, and that's true of all countries. I'm living under a regime that would destroy my livelihood and brand the love of my life an illigal immigrant all because of a foolhardy goal instigated buy a party that sympathied with the Nazi's during WW2. As bad as America is, it could be worse. EDIT: And before anyone says it, no, I do not consider being in Scotland, even under my circumstances, to be that bad. It just sucks that your own government doesn't know what to focus on, has no concept of consequence and has less intelligence than a than toddler. At least a toddler knows what "No" means.
  18. Some people prefer the feel and connection of a controller, a device made and developed over decades for the exclusive purpose for controlling a video game, as opposed to the mouse and keyboard, devices made to replace the typewriter that gamers and developers adapted to. Why is it that PC fanboys can't leave their entitled arrogance on the back burner for one moment and answer that question themselves because it's actually very simple. Personal preference. Yes, M/K is more accurate, but by that logic people shouldn't be using touch screen to aim and fire a gun in an FPS? Just just touch the screen whare the player your shooting is at and there you go, but it's kind of a detach from reality. That's why I never play and competitive FPS on PC and never will. With a user interface that's all about winning, that makes the game all about winning, and nothing else. Yes, dual analogue is less accurate, but it's also closer to the reel feel of using a weapon, making the experience more immersive and enjoyable for me. So, go ahead and revel in fact you can point and click faster than I can actually AIM something, because I don't care. I'm not saying that a gamepad truly reflects how a real assault rifle feels either, but with triggers and vibration it's at least closer than rested hands pressing keys on a keyboard and clicking a mouse. If the only reason you're playing a multiplayer game, if the only joy it offers, is through winning, then consider the possibility that maybe it's not a very good game.
  19. Sorry, but I refuse to believe that superiority complexity, entitlement and bad sportsmanship are a part of gaming that can't be removed. This is doing of immature, stupid, cowardly people who just so happen to play games. You find assholes everywharere, games just give assholes an opportunity to be assholes whilst hidden behind a screen, unjudged and without consequence. Well, that's what they believe and hope for. It's basically just another arm of the internet. It is in the nature of any kind of challenge to provoke frustration. Frustration can boil over and get to even the best of us at times. If someone really can't handle that, it's time to step away, even if only a moment, to calm down and get your head right, not to mention considering if this is what you really want to do. And in those moments, sometimes it's better to say no.
  20. According to Google, The United States of America has a population of approximately 331 million with Non-Hispanic Whites making up 60.7% of the country's population. So yeah, according to the numbers, white people as I would consider it do make up the majority of the US population, but not by a margin that's anything close to how the US people tend to be represented in government. The good news is that around half those Whites have brains larger than a walnut and didn't vote for Trump.
  21. What I find amusing about this is that this "Launch Collection" bundle doesn't seem to draw any athstetic inspiration from nor does it promote any game. I wonder why...
  22. I play a lot of RPG's, and there's subtle differences between that make all the difference. In games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age, they focus alot on social politics and choices of interactions between the main characters, whereas other RPG's may be more about about adventure, exploration or action. So I have to ask what it was about MA and DA that appeals to you? The game that comes to mind as being the most similar to those two I've played in recent years would be Greedfall, so that's worth a look (and it is a PS+ game ATM).
  23. Skyrim opens with an attack from a Dragon moments before someone was about to cut off your head. I wanna play the first 20 minutes of every game you've ever played to understand how that qualifies as boring.
  24. Kill the Faggot was removed from Steam for do honestly have to ask why. Still, It's more interesting than the story behind Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game being cancelled. Games get removed from digital stores all the time for various reasons that are usually not that intresting nor surprising. You're example of Scott Pilgrim may even be one of the least intresting examples. It was a a licencing issue and no more, not that anybody even cared in the first place.
  25. Moving this to the Esports and Competitive Gaming sub-forum.
