  1. Well, any story driven game that isn't an RPG or an interactive narrative should be exactly that. The Last of Us (1 and 2) springs instantly to mind and does that better game I know, but most games allow to observe a character(s) story without altering it.
  2. Joke's on you, I sold my soul to a cabbage to turn it into something edible years ago. Anyway, Lasagne or Moussaka?
  3. Beating Cauldron Epsilon in the Frozen Wilds DLC on Ultra hard (I had not tried it on a lower difficulty setting). The Frozen Wilds DLC is easily the most legitimately challenging game I've ever beaten. It was a nightmare, but because HZD offers a legitimately challenging game rather than an experience made of cryptic bullshit and/or crippling the player, I had no excuse. The only way to do it, was to fucking do it and GOD DAMN was it hard. When I finally succeeded, I was so proud... to only find it wasn't over, not really. Fuck.
  4. He's a high-end bartender/manager and one of the best mixologists you would ever meet. Let's be honest, that makes him to cool to be here.
  5. The same thing I've done every 4th of July since 2003, recover from a hangover.
  6. The release date is confirmed. Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Addition will be available for purchase from Steam and Epic Games Store will all the content from Horizon Zero Dawn and its expansion pack The Frozen Wilds. The PC version offers several new features including ultra-wide support, graphical enhancements (improved reflections and dynamic foliage), graphical customization, unlocked framerate, control options and a benchmarking tool. The PC Specs are also fairly modest, it's an easier game to run than I would have thought. All is good... apart from the price. For a game that's £15.99 on PSN right now (About $18-$19) Steam is asking for £32.99 (About $40) and, in move that's both bizarre and infuriating, Epic are asking for even more, £39.99 ($50). I'm just not convinced that's reasonable. Still though, happy to see PC players being given the chance to enjoy this fantastic game, and with what is looking like a very good port as well. I might even repurchase this myself for the experience. Anyone here exited to see this?
  7. You've mentioned this problem before. Because you haven't addressed what was advised to you in the other thread, there isn't much I can do here. Why would you expect me to say anything different?
  8. One of the best value purchases I can recall was once that happened quite recently. AC Odyssey Gold Edition, so includes the DLC expansions, from the Epic Games Store. This is normally an £80 game, but was on sale, around 2/3rds off or something and I had a £10 coupon to redeem on the store. So it actually cost £27.71 before the coupon came of, but the price was ultimately the £17.71 you see on the image. It turned out though they also threw in a copy of AC3 Remastered into it as part of deal AND they then gave me another £10 coupon, immediately replacing the one I'd just used. So that was over £100 worth of games and content for, basically £7.71? (considering the £10 coupon that was given right back to me). Yeah, I fell like I won that one.
  9. Since it looks like a badly rendered, pre-production still from a Jurassic Park movie, nothing to say other than...
  10. The only way FIFA has evolved is how the game has embraced and mastered "gambling for kids" and the worst business practices that in the industry has to plague us with. Improved visuals over years, especially when jumping to new console generations, is something to expect, not to praise. That's not innovation. I've done a little research, and it turns out EA has used no less than three different game engines for FIFA over the last decade (Frostbite, Impact and Ignite) and I bet not one fan has noticed the difference. That's because all that they do to develop the next game is update team rosters and shirt designs etc, then just copy and paste the same game with the aforementioned minor detail changes then sell it. This has even caused bugs in the past because the coding that works with one engine isn't necessarily compatible with other. The worst part is that, deep down, the fans know this about EA Sports (Not just FIFA), but don't seem to care. They'll still buy this bullshit year after year fully aware of just how lacklustre an effort went into it.
  11. With all due respect, this is a stupid topic. Video games are not toys, nor are they porno theatre films nor anything in between. They are an entertainment media, so they are rated for the target audience as per each expression within that media. You may as well ask the general public how they would age a movie, or TV show, or magazine as it's so ridiculously vague. This need context.
  12. I dreamed about being eaten by Pac-Man. Haven't stood next to dot since.
  13. What institution can I find the people who praised Tetris for the quality of the game's story writing?
  14. The thing about these kinds of situations when a new competitor, even one with the right resources like mixer had, comes up to take on a well established juggernaut in their field (Twitch), to compete it simply isn't good enough to be just as good, you need to be a lot better to have a hope. Microsoft thought, "lets be Twitch and no better, and because we're Microsoft, all we need to do is bring a popular steamer on board and it'll work out." Em, no. That's not how this works.
  15. Agreed. Fallout 3's ending wasn't even an ending, it was a prompt to insert more coins into the machine to continue. Broken Steel was clearly meant to be the rest of the story, but was sliced off and sold backed to the players as DLC. It's one of the most bullshit, money grabbing, scummy moves a games company has ever pulled.
  16. "Now, in the light of the screen you hide Halt, like a pawn in a long, long line..." That's the opening likes of Amaranthe's new song called "Viral". They know what they did.
  17. I'm gonna to have to agree with @The Blackangel, this sounds like a problem with the game keys themselves. I hate to sound like a detective, but did you buy these games legitimately? If so, from where? These are older games, so a compatibility issue with modern hardware and/or software could be the problem, but such issues wouldn't reveal themselves until you actually tried to run the games, so because it appears you can't even get them installed, I don't think that's it.
  18. The digital versions will have a hard drive (Well, SSD) in them, what they won't have is an optical drive, or disc tray, so you can't play physical copies of games or watch Blu-rays or DVD's. That's the only real difference. I don't want that though, I'll have one with a dick tray, please.
  19. Actually, that's not entirely correct. The first game was called Red Dead Revolver (2004), then there was the much better known and successful Red Dead Redemption (2010). Cashing in on the public's ignorance that the first game even happened, they then named the next one Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018). So yeah, it's little known fact that Red Dead Redemption 2 actually has a stupid name.
  20. I'm not so sure. As I've said before what Sony and Microsoft want is to get these consoles in your home because that's where the real money can be made, so selling them at a loss is something I feel they would be willing to do to make them more affordable and appealing. I'd knock around $100 off that, maybe and extra $50-$100 off for the digital only versions
  21. Thanks for the nomination @The Blackangel. Tough to nominate just one, but I'm gonna go with @ARx182. A newcomer that's already made a very positive contribution imo.
  22. The studio that created the GTA series is called Rockstar Games, not GTA maker. That means they do other things, more specifically have done other things since GTAV such as GTA online and Red Dead Redemption 2. It's not uncommon for modern AAA games to take 5 years or more to develop, and RDR2 came out less than two years ago, then there is RDR2's online mode and now they're doing stupid next gen port of GTAV. They were even working on a new Bully game until it was cancelled last year. Rockstar could have only been working solely on a new GTA game (assuming that's even true) realistically for around 18 months at the absolute most. @TheSteelyardDwelleris right, don't wait up for GTA6.
