StaceyPowers Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 What remasters have you played which genuinely impressed you and gave you the biggest bang for your buck? And which did you feel were just a hasty repackaging of the original game at a new game price?
kingpotato Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Halo CE anniversary remaster of the first Halo, the difference in graphics is great.
skyfire Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 I don't know about the worst remasters, but the best was the recent one RE 2 remake. It was definitely a good remastered remake. And the best part is not just graphics but the overall thrill with soundtrack.
killamch89 Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 Skyrim SE is one of the worst remasters I have ever come across. I mean why would you remake the game with the same god-damn bugs in it as the original and make absolutely no attempt to fix them AT ALL and then sell it for $60 dollars.
DylanC Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 (edited) Silent Hill HD Collection on PS3/XB360 was a disaster. The devs used incomplete code resulting in washed out textures, new bugs and audio glitches. It was patched a ton, but it’s still a terrible “remaster”. On the other hand, The Shadow of the Colossus PS4 remaster by Bluepoint was excellent. Edited April 25, 2019 by DylanC

I cannot understand them selling it $60 dollars on release date and then dropped it to $40 a few days later.
skyfire Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 RE 2 remake definitely sounds like a good remake.
The Blackangel Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 FF8 remaster was amazing. The colors were crystal clear, and the people and monsters are as life like as I have ever seen in a video game. Almost as good as the cut scenes in the game. they're not pixelated anymore, but realistic. It was done beautifully.
skyfire Posted February 16, 2020 Posted February 16, 2020 I think they spent a lot of time and money on that remaster. I am sure the FF8s tangent storyline on genesis and others would be also good followup.
Patrik Posted January 16, 2021 Posted January 16, 2021 The worst remaster is the GTA San Andreas one that was released for mobile, PS4 and XBOX, glitchy, ungly and unplayable!!

I got it on the 360, but I didn't have many problems with it. I did have one glitch during one mission where the graphics went crazy. But other than that, it played relatively fine. I still need to complete it, but I doubt I'll be doing that anytime soon.
