  1. That's how a lot of people secure their funding. They promise product placement in tv shows, movies and even video games. Plus, with a company like Pepsi behind it, I'm sure they paid a lot of money to have its name featured in a game. Pepsi could have been the majority investors for all we know. Basically, studios that do this type of team up, probably just needed the money to get their game. So monster in the title of a motocross game. Maybe that game was never going to have monster in the title. But that money probably saved their game.
  2. Never really played fifa games myself. I won a copy of pes years ago, but wasn't a fan of it. I am not into soccer though. But that's EA for you, they go backwards with their sports games. Madden has lost so much of their game, that I don't know why fans aren't fussing about it as much. Anyway, I heard they were considering making a live service fifa that would come out with updates and I'm guessing dlc and other microtransactions. It is EA after all.
  3. The music accompanies the game. For example. Rdr1 has some of the best western music. During serious gun fights, you'd hear the score pop in. And it's so damn good. It really hypes you up, as you hear this score blaring as bullets are whizzing past you, npcs are yelling, horses crashing into one another. It really heightens the game and can make you experience so much more than if you had it without the music. Like listen to this song and tell me it doesn't add to the game or something?
  4. Yeah there are a few games where I play through them, maybe a quarter, half way or nearly the whole game, and then I just stop. Most recent I can think of, is wreckfest, as I played a bit of that, enjoyed it, and then stopped. I also did this with shadow of the colossus. Still have the save file. Last time I tried to play it, was probably 2015 or so. There's a lot I started, got a long way in, and then stopped playing for some reason. Probably just not having time and then forgetting about it.
  5. Unfortunately it's going to happen. Less games are coming out with physical releases. Even Nintendo and other companies are putting out physical releases with just a digital code. What is the point in just the case and cover art? It's not the same as getting the disc or cart. Digital and streaming will likely take over in the next 10 years, but some games may come out physically. Limited games may be around yet. And I can see people wanting physical. Streaming will be tougher and take much longer though. It's more about isps wanting to allow game streaming on their plans. It's one thing to stream something on Netflix for example, but streaming a video game is a lot more taxing and takes up a ton of bandwidth. So that would require internet services to allow it, or be able to handle everyone doing it. Yeah Nintendo games are notorious for holding their worth. I saw target was doing a buy 2 get 1 free deal yesterday, and all the most of the first part Nintendo games are still $59.99 supe Mario odyssey was still that price. You'd be best to buy physical in that case. I like to collect and game. But lately I mostly been getting digital games. I think it's because of the used marke. The studios can't tell you what to charge on that used game you got. That's why the market for games fluctuates, because it's the people and or gamers who decide the prices. With digital releases, they are released by the studios who made them. So, they can price it at the full price and keep it that way for life. Steam has this, where you'll see some old games still going for their original release price. Of course steam makes up foe this with tons of sales. As do many console marketplaces.
  6. I'd say Sleeping Dogs. Reason why, is because it was technically the sequel to True Crime, but could not use the name. Somehow it was a hit. I'm considering replaying it soon.
  7. Nice, those are awesome gifts. I remember some family friends told us years ago that they would give away their Nintendo and their collection. Supposedly they had around 700 games, not sure if true. But I dreamed of the day they would deliver it. That never happened lol. They probably realized there was money there and decided to just forget lol. But yeah, have you spoken with your friend about it recently?
  8. I am reminded of games like hitman. Because in Hitman there is a correct way to beat the mission, but you can go any route you want. Guns blazing, stealthy, stealthy but taking out everyone. Finding odd and different t ways to take out your targets. Etc.
  9. Rockstar Games posted this on their Facebook three hours ago
  10. Rockstar hasn't focused on it in a bit. They release stuff here and there, but it's not near as popular as gta online. It doesn't help that they make it a huge grind in the game and don't add any fun missions to make up for the grind. They charge a ton on items and it just isn't fun to work towards it.
  11. Lol the switch has outsold all of them so far and it's still selling like crazy. I think it's leading the console wars right now if anything. But the beauty of it all, is that each console is selling great right now. The ps5 just outsold the wii u in over 1 year. That's crazy. The series x and x are selling good as well. Not ps5 numbers, but it's still up there.
  12. Does anyone here like to save the side quests for last? Do them first? Or a mix of story, then side quest, story and then a side quest? Rinse and repeat.
  13. Yeah I remember the first movie was more about a dude coming back to life and his ex lover helping him find male victims to regenerate his body. I'll have to rematch the first few one of these days.
  14. State of decay 1 or 2, I forget which one, but it had a camp building option, and I remember encountering a game breaking bug, where my camp was overun by zombies and one of my defenses was glitched. I couldn't defend my camp and so I ended up losing some of my people and I think it caused me to be stuck. So I never bothered with the game again after that.
  15. Idk I'd argue that some live service games worn fine. Fortnite is pretty much a live service game and continues to throw out updates, changes and more, all for free. You can of course get battle pass to get more stuff, but you don't need it. But I agree that a lot of games don't keep with it for too long. But you also have to consider userbase. Some don't even take off because they can't find an audience.
  16. I remember the PC games you'd get in kellogs cereals. I think I got the first Spiderman demo disc from a cereal box. Wish they still did that.
  17. Arthur's death was inevitable, he knew it was coming and he put up a fight to the very end. He didn't want to see Micah get away and gave him his best. He made it his final stand and decided to let go. It was a great ending.
  18. Yeah, i kinda want to get the game on PC. Since I have a decent PC, and no PS4 or 5, I can now play God of War, so I'm psyched for that. 🙂
  19. True, but getting into bed with tencent to get into China isn't a good look imo. I always think when studios change their games to appease China is just sad. I wonder how controlled this game will end up being.
  20. I think I downloaded it at one point, but never played it. Maybe this weekend I'll try to get in it. But that's a whole season I need to do, so idk if I can get invested with that this weekend lol.
  21. Yeah true, but 53 mill is still a lot to lose in that way. I can't imagine they were happy about wasting that money. But they will survive.
  22. Pretty cool if it actually works. Makes you wonder if it could help strengthen brain cells. I doubt it, but it'd be cool.
  23. And also didn't China just reverse their game ban a few years ago? I swear there was a ban on gaming in China for a period of time. So maybe the quality of these games is due to their limited time with video games and maybe the limited abilities of the people teaching game development.
  24. They already have a police simulator game, a firefighter Sim, and a bunch of others. A lot of them are probably awful lol. But I think some go for realism and are fun. Just depends on what you're looking for.
  25. And the sizes are only going to get bigger. Games are getting bigger, more polished, and packed with more content. So, expect games to soon reach 1tb in size or more. Hell COD is pretty much already there. With the dlc, updates and more, I bet most people who play COD have just that on their hdds.
