Most cases you end up not killing anything, I can walk for hours and not get nothing. With TheHunter I end up walking to differnt parts of the map opening it up and unlocking it 🙂

LOL! If it weren't for my shooter games I'd likely be more aggressive at work. They kinda help calm me. I'm attached to an Animal Crossing character named Sherb. Does that mean I'm mental?
Probably the reasoning behind the guy in the video is to make people think that video games cause everyone to be overweight. Not the case. And they have video games for exercising so that makes it pure choice.
I feel like if people are going out and doing mass shootings it's because of their mental state prior to the video games as well as their own choices. I suffer from depression but that's not gonna make me go out and mass kill cuz I play Fortnite.

In some ways no. Like gaming in general is unhealthy, physically and mentally, for me at least. If you're doing VR games with a decent amount of physical activity as a component my first guess is you are not getting enough exercise and general physical activity in your normal day to day life. Lack of exercise is for sure a major underlying problem in a lot of people with depression and anxiety.

I'm giving @Withywarlock a nomination. Since becoming a moderator he's done a fantastic job, and he's also been a quality member for quite a while. He deserves a nomination.

If it doesn't add to the discussion, or follow the rules of the thread, you would be much better off not commenting. You have been doing better about this as of late, but you still continually post comments that completely ignore the thread topic. Either make a post that adds to the conversation, or don't reply and move on to another topic.

I typically do not partake in nominations but I am officially nominating @ForwardSlashDownPoke. His contributions to the forum have been incredibly insightful and detailed. I believe he deserves the opportunity to be considered in the August Member of the Month poll.

I could see it being used in the same way sensory toys are used for disabled persons. When I was growing up I couldn't be left at home as there were no child-minders, so I had to go with my mum to her workplace at a care home. I'd often be bored so like a lot of the people there, I'd indulge in the watching and playing with the sensory gubbins. VR in a place like that would probably be great for a lot of people once the physical health kinks are worked out like eye-strain and headaches.

I probably will... eventually. I no longer feel the need to get into the latest season immediately, especially when either in this game or at some other stage there's going to be a loss of progression from the previous games. Even when I was unemployed I didn't have the time to chase the Battle Pass. No, I'm focussing on my job and hoping that when the campaign comes down in price that'll be worth a go. It's doubtful. As I said in another thread it's just war crime pornography at this point.
As @Kane99 says, the fatigue is real. Let it go the way of Guitar Hero for a few years.

The skateboard would've been in the third game, Year of the Dragon, but yes I remember that same love for it.
I rate the games as thus: the first is the most replayable; the second is the best for refining the existing formula; the third is the most innovative, but I find one of the least replayable games because of its use of cutscenes, alternate characters, greater emphasis on minigames and greater difficulty. The first one, as you go on to say, is the one I play the most for its humble nature. It lets you go through the levels seamlessly and wastes no time.
When I was waiting on my PC to be repaired, this was the game I played on the console itself rather than an emulator. Over, and over, and over. Got to 100% completion (sometimes completing the bonus level at the end), deleted my save and started over again. I'd probably completed it about 15-20 times before and after work whilst waiting for my PC to come home.
Indeed. I recently did a Let's Play of the game wherein my main criticisms were the maps were too large and full of nothing, meaning you'd spend an extra 20-30 minutes trying to find any remaining dragon treasure/dragonflies, the enemy reaction times were stepped up (which is fine, given they've always been slow in previous games), and some of the minigames were flat out broken. I had to switch from the PS2 version to the GameCube version simply because a slide level didn't work and thus I couldn't get 100% completion. For anyone who would like to get into it, the GameCube version isn't as pretty but it's considerably less buggy (at least the GameCube version on the Dolphin emulator).

Goofy graphic style don't seem to date even in this year, seriously thats fantastic. The levels are always a fun adventure that can't be miss. Insomniacs classic series went in a bang that left a nice footprint that can't be removed. I'm glad I played this.

Absolutely loving your review right now, it's going to be something I can put on while I work to just listen to and have some nostalgia! Might not even need to replay it after watching / listening. You are actually really good at reviewing you go into details I wouldn't expect such as voice overs etc.
Ah I wasn't even thinking about legal positions over emulators, I doubt that would be an issue where I'm located right now , but the viruses more or less. I'll just use an older laptop if I decide to give it a run! Thanks again for the replies brother and great series!

I'm not prepared to say with finality that "it's fine" because it would really depend on your local laws and how well they're enforced, not to mention the minefield that copyright legislation is. Even in the UK where we have some of the more clear-cut rulings on emulation, it still requires a good read to understand.
In terms of malware coming from ROMs that depends mostly on the site you get it from, and how good your antivirus is. Just because I've had no issues doesn't mean others don't or can't. Your best bet is to play them on the games on their original systems. It's not the end of the world if you can't. ^^

The whole reason the newest COD sold less and has lost users is probably because of fatigue. I have no interest in playing any of the new CODs these days. I've played most of the games, getting the new ones every year, but I've since stopped because it's not fun anymore, at least for me. Gaming fatigue is a real thing, where you lose interest in a game or series because you have played too much of it.
I think with a few years break, I may be interested in jumping back in.

Yeah, the point is to make you feel like you're that character. When they include a voice for example, it implies that is a different person. I like having the option to have a custom character, but if it's a character made by the studio, I think I'd rather they speak at least.
I don't remember much about Bioshock, but wasn't the main dude named Booker or something?

Withywarlock got a reaction from kingpotato in Breaking Bad Creator Says He Tried To Make A Video Game Adaptation
I'll apologise for the tone of this post as I'm hot and bothered, but not the message. Let's improve the quality of our contributions to this thread, and all others, please.
I could see this working as a Telltale game given the amount of close calls the characters come to arrest, death or just having identities discovered. It was particularly interesting for Walter 'Heisenberg' White to maintain his civilian identity given he's married, his brother-in-law works in the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and he's a school teacher with one of his students being a meth dealer.
The problem about the game is that it's done all it needs to do: any other arcs can and will be covered in a spin-off TV show because the Breaking Bad universe is too big to not capitalise on. So what would the game do differently? A fully digitised New Mexico? OK, but that's not going to work with the story of the show. With Jesse Pinkman on the run? What's he going to do that he didn't in El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie didn't? We go around shooting people as Mike Ehrmantraut? If he's not old, he's not Mike Ehrmantraut.
There is a case for a Breaking Bad video game, but the immediate answers are the ones we're not going to get. I bet we'll get something like a Narcos-style game: isometric tactical raids on Los Pollos Hermanos, or a Tropico-style management sim with meth.
He. Vince Gilligan. It says it in the title of the article and in Kane99's original comment.
How will it be better by not being a Grand Theft Auto clone? What sort of game would you like to see Breaking Bad adapted into?
That's pretty much how we got the games we do today. We wouldn't have Roguelikes/lites without Rogue. We'd have no Call of Duty without Doom. We'd have no Elder Scrolls without Ultima. We wouldn't have Grand Theft Auto without the Miami Vice game of '86.
'Cloning' in this instance does not mean a 1:1 copy; most users here mean 'clone' to mean an open world game set in the Breaking Bad universe, likely with a lot of gunplay and vehicle physics.
Please could you elaborate on this comment? What makes you think what they "do or do not" "might be an epic or great result?" What is your opinion based upon?

Withywarlock got a reaction from Heatman in What are your thoughts on Boss Battles?
That isn't true either. They've (whoever 'they' are, which is a conversation for another thread) always been 'greedy' (see the Video Game Crash of 1983), greed being another word that is ruinous to discussion because it's too satisfying to develop on and creates circlejerks. I will say we saw an uptick thanks to the greater emphasis on online functionality (online subscriptions which are no longer necessary; DLC; Season Passes; Online Passes; Battle Passes; 'Beta' Access from Pre-Ordering, et cetera), but let's not pretend that their customers haven't provided custom to continue doing this. Unlike '83, we're still waiting to smugly say "pride comes before a fall" (and I'll be there with everyone else here.)
Putting workers at risk is indeed awful and you're right: lead designers and publishers don't often care, and production can go downhill as a result. We're just repeating the same points though.
Now that this has been addressed, we're going to bring this back on topic: what are people's thoughts on boss battles? Anyone who wants to talk about greed or laziness can do so in PMs or another thread, and that goes for me also.
As ever I invite people who haven't yet contributed to the topic at hand to do so, or those who have contributed to add something new to discussion. Thanks to all who have made their contributions so far.

Thanks for pointing that out and in addition to the games which I had recommended initially, with Moguri mod in other Final Fantasy 9, it's a very good option.
Half-life 2, Doom 3, and Dark Souls 3 are good example to pick from when it comes to games that you can mod to play.

yeah but some of us like to go back and keep playing some of the stuff on older consoles and handhelds. i went to go play a legos game on mine that i can't get on my switch the one day and it wouldn't let me connect to the wifi to update my device and i can't get on and play without the update so it became unusable.

That's understandable, I myself don't have proof for my claims but it wouldn't surprise me if people were just posting to farm points. In fairness, the thread doesn't begin with or promote further discussion. Like I say it's harmless, but if I were to post each time I changed game (which is every few hours on a weekend) I'd having warnings coming out my ears for spam.
I somewhat agree with you. I share the opinion of the late Totalbiscuit, to paraphrase, "casual gamers are people whose gaming revolves around their life, and hardcore gamers are people whose life revolves around their gaming."
As I say, I understand why people change games, I was speaking to the low-effort posting of that particular thread. Thank you for your explanation though.
