  1. I was super impressed with what I played of the GBA, though I never owned one. I loved my DS Lite - wonderful system! I was all about Advance Wars - so bloody addicting!
  2. You're absolutely right, good point, but there's a large proportion of the player base who invest in the micro transactions and cosmetic stuff. I'm pretty sure the dev/hardware holders make a lot of money in the back-end from that side of things. With the new Season 6 Fortnite content now out, more people will be buying PS4s for the foreseeable future, essentially. It's good branding for Sony - and good business sense all round as everyone's happy.
  3. Oh, and I forgot to mention cross buy. That was a really neat feature of the system, too.
  4. I'm guessing the forthcoming Season 6 of Fortnite and the vocal fanbase had something to do it. Also, money.
  5. I started gaming way back in the 80s. I must've been about 6 when I played my first game, which I believe was Monty On The Run on the Amstrad CPC 464. It was a very basic platformer game which I was super enamoured with. I'm curious, what were your first ever gaming experiences?
  6. Enjoyed that. Not heard of MDK but nice review, yo!
  7. I think mine is the PS Vita (which many will find surprising) but I just love the shit out of it. Trophies, that gorgeous screen, voice chat out of the box, the dual sticks, the JRPGs, the indie support - it's a great system. What is everyone's fave handheld?
  8. I occasionally let my slight obsessive nature take over, particularly for certain fetch quests in RPGs. Most would probably hate collecting all the knick-knacks a game throws at players, but I sometimes find a sort of peaceful, relaxing joy to it.
  9. Good call. Gonna install the game and updates now so it’s ready.
  10. Right there with you. There’s something about a great FPS game, like COD or Destiny, that makes them really addictive.
  11. For me, I've probably spent an inordinate amount of time playing Call Of Duty: Black Ops (500+ hours), Aliens Vs Predator (100+ hours), Skyrim (100+ hours) and PixelJunk Monsters (500+). How about you guys?
  12. I'd probably go for Naughty Dog, as they're one of the best developers around.
  13. I don't think single-player games will ever fully go away (I really hope not anyway) but online-centric games are undoubtedly the du jour. That said, this may not be the perfect analog, but when iPads and Kindles came out, everyone bought their books digitally and now people are moving back to physical books. In other words, trends ebb and flow. Sure, Fortnite and PUBG are big atm but that doesn't mean online games will be the big thing forever. Hope that makes sense!
  14. It's arrived - woop woop! Can't wait to get stuck into it! Unfortunately, I'm reviewing some stuff first, so it'll have to wait.
  15. I believe asymmetrical games are competitive MP games where players control the enemies in an arena style death match? I might be wrong, though.
  16. I'm weird. I actually don't mind fetch quests or "go here and kill this thing" quests, personally. Can totally understand why other people - like yourself - don't like them, though.
  17. I really enjoyed Ys Origin - I reviewed it, in fact. Not played the newer ones, though. The original Dragon Age is great stuff, but wasn't so fussed on DA 2 and Inquisition. Thanks for commenting!
  18. Everyone loves Dead By Daylight and Friday The 13th: The Game which are fun, but Aliens Vs Predator and Left For Dead were the OG asymmetrical video games for me.
  19. I've not been banned but a few of my friends have for glitching.
  20. I do enjoy a well designed puzzle in my video games, but the problem is many puzzles in games these days aren't very well designed. I think that's why I love Limbo and Inside so much; mainly because most of the puzzles in those games were incredibly well designed and thoughtful.
  21. Not heard of this one before, honestly. It's on my radar now, though. Will keep an eye if it goes on sale. I like a good isometric RPG!

    Sims Games

I used to watch my housemate play a lot of Sims back in my Uni days. Was pretty funny when the grim-reaper would show up. Personally, I prefer playing the SimCity games.
  23. I really want a PS4 Pro. I've still got my launch fat PS4, but I'm so tempted to pick a Pro up. Maybe next pay day...
  24. It's particularly baffling when you factor in that Mighty No 9 was created by one of Mega Man's original key deveopers Keiji Inafune! What a wasted opportunity!
  25. Big news: https://www.vgr.com/sony-launches-playstation-xbox-cross-play-for-fortnite/ Happy days, right?
