  1. I've got The Witcher 3 on PS4 and it's a very good RPG, for sure. I've played about 50-60 hours of it (had a few long breaks away from it yet have gone back to it several times) but ironically I just feel like it hasn't properly clicked with me. There's something about the combat that feels a wee bit "button mashy" and has a latent, delayed feel - just doesn't gel well for me. Also, the menus are not very clear as to what piece of equipment is the best/or what it does differently to other pieces of equipment. It probably sounds a bit nitpicky - I do really like the game - though I wouldn't put it in my top 10 RPGs, personally.
  2. Good question. Hmm, overly long load times gets on my wick. Also, crummy frame rates, bad screen tearing and crap music really tests my patience!
  3. I put in a few hours into the Tales of Hearts R on Vita and enjoyed it. Should get back to it one day!
  4. Good observation, though, I should've mentioned that I love JRPGs, too. Admittedly, I haven't had as much experience with them as I'd like (I really, really want to play Chrono Trigger on the Switch! *fingers crossed it comes to Switch*). JRPG-wise, I love Ni No Kuni, Demon Gaze, Persona 4, Suikoden 2 (not played 1 yet) and Dungeon Travelers 2.
  5. What did y'all think of Shane Black's latest Predator flick?
  6. Been looking for a decent RPG to pick up, so wanted to ask everyone: What're the best RPGs you've had the pleasure of playing? I'd put Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout: New Vegas, Dark Souls and Demon's Souls up there on my list. How about you guys?
  7. Ok, a The Last Of Us-esque pandemic breaks out. I remember reading somewhere, that if you want to hunker down in the house, the first thing you must do is fill the bathtub/containers with water before the water runs out. Ideally, you'd want to get a trip to shop in before you hunker down, and perhaps buy some food like a few crates of beans/soup tins etc. What would you do?
  8. I can play guitar but weirdly when I try and play Guitar Hero games I suck so bad. It's probably just a lack of practice tbh. Only tried to play GH a couple of times over friends' houses.
  9. Oh, crumbs. I forgot about Mighty No 9. The marketing for that was hilariously awful. And the game was a bloody disaster, too!
  10. I picked up the slim version of the PS3 when my launch edition began to sound like an aeroplane taking off. It was the first proper slim model for the PS3 and it's a nice piece of kit. They are usually well made, though it depends as Sony released a really cheap 12GB version of the PS3 late in its life cycle which looked cheap and plastic. Most of the time, the first slim model they release is an improvement in some shape or form (smaller, draws less power, for example). That said, it's also a way for the company in question to cut the manufacturing costs in the back-end and save some money.
  11. I think 2019 would be too soon for PS5, yeah. Sony could announce it in 2019, but I very much doubt it'll launch that year. 2020 on the other hand is totally viable. I could see 2020 being the year the PS5 launches.
  12. I absolutely love a good roguelike. Rogue Legacy, FTL and Darkest Dungeon are awesome roguelikes that I've played *a lot*. Anyone got any other recommendations? Dead Cells is supposed to be good, anyone played it yet? Any good?
  13. Sony could've marketed Until Dawn better. Was a great horror game and it sort of released with very little fanfare. In regards to spoilers, though, I actually try not to watch too many trailers just for that reason. Most games I look forward to, I tend to skip a lot of their trailers to avoid spoiler stuff.
  14. I remember reading about the Salton Sea in California during the early 20th century. Basically, it was a man-made lake in the middle of the desert that lots of people flocked to as a holiday attraction. Unfortunately, pesticides destroyed the lake and all that's now left is a huge graveyard of dry, arid land and a bunch of old fish bones. The pictures and land look very Fallout-esque.
  15. I spilt some coffee on PS4. I unplugged it straight away and it freaked me the hell out. I put the PS4 next to a radiator overnight and thankfully it worked fine the next day. Still works to this day *fingers crossed*
  16. The Last Of Us Part II, Days Gone and Cyberpunk 2077, are top of my AAA list. I know Bloodborne 2 hasn't been announced yet, but that's surely on its way, right? That'd be my most anticipated game, for sure.
  17. It really depends what mood I'm in tbh. Probably trite to say this, but linear games are way better at telling a story whereas open-world games give players more freedom and choice. I got a little bit of open-world fatigue over the last few years, but I definitely see the appeal.
  18. Oh, man! I absolutely adored Sim City on the SNES growing up. I have Goat Simulator on my iPad and it's funny playing it with my little 'un. She finds all the bugs and silliness absolutely hilarious. Also, not sure it counts, but I loved Transport Tycoon, Theme Park and Theme Hospital when I was younger, as well. They're *kinda* simulator games, right?
  19. Pretty sure Catherine is getting a port to Vita. That'd be a great fit on handheld. Anyone played Catherine?
  20. I mean, when I play I try my best for my team, so I guess that's competitive, right? Obviously, fun is the most important thing, but in FPS games, for example, I always try and win. But I try not to go too far with it. It's not the be all and end all if I lose a game. Having a good time is important, too.
  21. I detonated the atomic bomb and blew up the city of Megaton in Fallout 3 during The Power Of The Atom quest. Still feel bad about it tbh.
  22. I agree with Demon above. Sounds a little ridiculous to me. But then again, maybe it is a thing and I've just never heard of it.
  23. With respect, I don't think it was their lack of talent that got them closed down. It's more the fact that today's gaming industry is a broken mess business-wise. I think TT taking on too many projects may've been an issue, as well.
  24. Just watching video reviews and reading written reviews, tbh. The latest iterations in the series are supposedly way more RPG-focused. Not only that, but I believe they've had more development time compared to the other titles.
  25. Aye, it's got to be Persona 4. Terrific tunes. Speaking of which, I really should go back and finish it one of these days...
