I absolutely loved Kirby as a kid when I was growing up and the one game I remember playing so much when I was a kid was Kirby's Dreamland on the Gameboy. I spent so much time on that game just playing through and even now when I sit here and think of those playthroughs I can hear the theme and the noise Kirby made as well. I honestly haven't played any of the newer Kirby games on say the Nintendo Switch, but I would love to play them just to see how they are now compared to when I was playing when I was a kid.

This is the first time I have seen this game if I am honest it does look like a game, I would play but I am not sure if it would be one that I would play for a long period of time. It seems like it would be one of those games that I personally myself would play every so often to pass the time or if I needed a break from a game I was currently playing through. I am curious though so I will be looking more into this game.

I would absolutely love to see the burnout games make a comeback if I am honest. I remember playing Burnout Paradise and that game was amazing, but I can't say I have seen any other Burnout games released since then or if they have, I have missed them. Burnout Paradise is definitely the one that sticks out to me and to have something similar to that make a comeback would be amazing!

Do you have the habit of moving your arms/body with the game?
Shortie replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
I wouldn't say that I do this all the time, but I have found myself to move in the direction of the game especially when I have had to as you state maneuver around things and also in racing games as well, I have been known to move my body in the direction of the way the car is going in the game. One thing I have also noticed is that when I am playing say a battle royale game and I am getting closer to winning, I will move myself more forward towards the screen as if it helps me concentrate more, it's very weird. It doesn't always help me though lol. -
There are a few games myself that I have played in the past that have been really good games but do not have the greatest graphics if I am honest. House Flipper was one, the game was amazing and very addictive to play but the graphics were not the greatest and I even noticed sometimes they would glitch Power wash simulator was another game that I have played and again found very addictive, but the graphics again were not the greatest.

I can definitely agree with this for sure. You will be surprised at how much you can take in from video games even in some cases sub consciously that you later may need and you think back to how you know that or in some cases because you took it in sub consciously you don't remember where you learned it from. When I was a kid I remember gaming was pretty much frowned up on if you played too much but now that I am older I realize that gaming is much more than just sitting there and playing games and not doing anything, it's so much more than that and you can learn a lot from gaming and I really do feel like many are starting to see that now and the stigma of gaming being bad isn't like it used to be anymore.

I am not an esports player myself but I have often wondered if I ever could be. Unfortunately it would take a lot of time on games and with my current life away from games being so chaotic I wouldn't have the time at the moment to be able to play as much as I would need to hit where I would need to for esports. Maybe one day I will be able to dedicate more time into possibly becoming an esports player, it's definitely on my bucket list.

Does anyone know a successful esports player well?
Shortie replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Esports & Competitive Gaming
I can't say that I have met or been acquainted with any esports player that I know of if I am honest, if I have I have been completely oblivious to the fact they were a successful esports player. I would like to meet someone who is a successful esports player though, someone who would be willing to talk about their experience and who I could ask questions and learn something. -
I guess the only thing I could think of that would become an issue for someone in esports as a professional would be how long they have to be sat for in a tournament. Sitting for longer periods without movement will always lead to health issues at a later date and in many cases, this could be what causes a esports player to move away from playing games professionally. I guess also thee constant looking at screens for long periods could also cause issues and could push someone to have to stop earlier than intended.

I honestly don't think I can think of any action games that don't have bosses in them somewhere. Even as far back as Sonic and Mario you would always run into a boss at some point that you had to take out before you could progress further in the game, the difference there though was that way back you would be limited to how many lives you had making it more difficult.

I guess unless I am playing say a bad guy in a game I will always try to be the good guy, doing everything I possibly can to keep that god guy status unless within the game something happens that means I have to make a decision that would mean I'd end up the bad guy. I always feel that if you start out playing say the bad guy you'll end up missing out on so many perks as the games way of penalizing you for being bad. If I really want to see the outcome for being the bad guy throughout, I will do another play through and start out as the bad guy just for fun after completing as the good guy.

When I first started gaming I remember that I would struggle with things such as following mini maps or following a route to a destination in game but the more and more I played games the more I adapted to how games had changed and was able to get better at following mini maps and directions to locations. Even when it came to bringing in the use of two thumb sticks to move your character and the screen that was something I struggled with in the beginning when that was really new, again I adapted and now it's something I am just used to and no longer struggle with.

Aspects of gaming you had to learn to appreciate
Shortie replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I think for me it would have to be the transition over from controller to mouse and keyboard. I have always been a controller user when gaming so when I have attempted to switch over to keyboard and mouse I can appreciate how much more difficult it is for those who solely play keyboard and mouse, especially those who play using keyboard and mouse on first person shooters or even those who play and build on Fortnite. -
One game I know that you can now barge into homes but being the game it is, you don't get caught for it is Fortnite, this is a more recent feature added to Fortnite but the movement is so cool when done. Red Dead Redemption I know there were consequences when you barged into someones home. When I think about it, I am honestly shocked at how many games don't have this feature at all, would definitely add to a game to have consequences for barging into a home.

How long until you give up on a puzzle and cheat?
Shortie replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I will admit that I usually do not spend anymore than around 10 minutes on a puzzle before I get fed up and look for a solution online in a game. If I have been unable to solve the puzzle myself I get more and more frustrated if I keep trying so it's better for me to look online by then rather than just keep trying. I will admit though that when I do look online for the solution I feel like I cheated even though I didn't. Anyone else ever feel like this? -
For me, it really does depend on the game and how eager I am to play the game after purchasing. In most cases I tend to only buy games when I know I will definitely play them so within say a few hours after purchase. I have in the past been known though to buy a game when it's been on sale and it's taken weeks for me to start playing it but I knew if I didn't jump on it whilst it was on sale, I would have missed out.

Is it easier for you to be responsible in games than IRL?
Shortie replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Yes, definitely. I find in video games especially ones where you say have to save things such as money or in game credit for something in the game, I find that much easier to do in the game than I do IRL and I feel that is because, in real life we are having to survive by paying bills, buying food, clothes and all too often you also want to treat yourself as well so with all that you find that it isn't always as easy to save and instead, impulse decisions happen. -
All too often this is the obvious way developers make their enemies harder and they completely overlook the fact they could d things such as make their enemies more smarter in combat such as dodging attacks, having more health or even invisibility. Don't get me wrong I love to fight enemies especially end bosses in a game but when it comes to just constant shooting rather than giving us something we have to work out to defeat them, it can get boring over time.

Picking up any games during Black Friday/Cyber Monday 2022?
Shortie replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
I was lucky this year that I had the funds to jump on the Black Friday sales. My kids all needed new Xbox One Controllers and a store near me was selling them for £20 off which would make them the same price as a third party controller so I jumped on them. I was actually shocked with a deal that good that they had plenty of controllers in and of all the colors as well. -
What is the difference between a “puzzle” and an “obstacle course”?
Shortie replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Puzzles are something you need to work out with things like clues, with clues you would then try and work out the best way to solve the puzzle. With an obstacle course, as much as there may be clues to help you with the obstacle course, you will have to find the best way around the course yourself. Obstacle courses also don't always have clues and rely on you to solely complete it by trial and error. -
I think this is an amazing way for people to be able to do something they enjoy and be able to earn a living from it. For years we have always heard about how games can be bad for us and how people can never understand why we play them and don't just go outside and do what they used to do. The truth is that gaming really is something that you can get into now and make an income from in so many different ways whether it be through esports, streaming and content creation and so much more. I feel in time gaming will become a viable source of income and it will when it does, help so many people.

What are your favorite esports to bet on?
Shortie replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Esports & Competitive Gaming
I honestly haven't looked into betting on esports before even though I know it's a thing. I feel myself if I was to get to betting on esports when I watch them, I may get addicted to it, and I'd hate to have to end up in trouble that way. I guess if I was confident on an outcome for an esports tournament I would possibly have a small go and see what happened, but I would be strict with myself whether I won or not. -
You will be surprised at how much a game on a phone or a tablet for a cat or even a dog will help them. Much like humans, animals also suffer from stress and anxiety and things like games for them on a phone or tablet will help them so much. I know my cat over the years before she passed, she became very anxious after being attacked by a neighbor's dog once and also going missing for a few days. It got to the point where if I left her to go to bed on a night and she was asleep say on the sofa, she would wake up and wonder around the house calling for me with her meows until I answered her. She also had a heart murmur so any kind of stress or anxiety wouldn't help her at all. Things like mobile games or even YouTube videos for cats really helped her a lot and I would imagine it's the same for dogs as well.

If I really enjoyed the game when I was playing before I took the break, then there being an update will always be something that brings me back. I find with MMO's I can play them for a while but if I play them for too long, I get burned out on them, because of that I like to take a break and wait for something new to come to the game. If I see a new update coming to the game I was playing and it looks interesting, I will jump back on to check it out. By then I have had a break from the game and the burn out isn't there anymore and it becomes a new experience with the update.

I was never a fan of Red Dead Redemption and because of that I never played two but when you mention a VR version of the game that actually got me interested. I remember when I played the first game you had a lot of scenery that would look absolutely amazing in VR, and I know from what I read that RDR2 was even better in terms of scenery and graphics which means that in VR would have just been so much better. I would grab the game for VR if they ever did make one just because of the game and the scenery, that would be an amazing experience.
