Most boring segments of games you've played?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
FF8 actually had 4 discs. FF7 had 3. Legend Of Dragoon had 4 discs. Remember this was during the PS1 era, and blu-ray discs didn't exist yet, so discs couldn't hold as much information. But after Sony created and patented blu-ray discs, they massively increased the amount of information a disc could hold. -
Has anything ever offended you in a game?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Here's a list of games that are at the very least considered controversial. Some very well earned the classification, others are more of a WTF situation for being on the list. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_controversial_video_games -
Has anything ever offended you in a game?

There's another series created by a white supremacist group called Ethnic Cleansing. It's as sick as it sounds. -

I made a post about this same thing a couple years ago. There is also Custer's Revenge on Atari 2600. It's just a white cowboy with a hard dick going around and raping Native American women. That's literally the entire game. There weren't censors in the days it was released, so there was no one to block it from coming out. A lot of kids were able to have it because their parents thought it was just some kind of child friendly western game. Not quite. -
Do cartoons count as sitcoms? If so I would have to honestly give it a toss up between Family Guy and American Dad.

I liked Death Note. Until now, I was unaware that it was anime. So maybe that's the saving grace for me. But that's often the case with movie adaptations from books, comics, and other sources. if you do one, stay the hell away from the other. But I do have to say, that I read Pet Sematary, and the movie stuck to the book pretty well. There were a couple omissions and deviations, but nothing major. Pet Sematary 2 though, was just absolutely horrible, and the remake was enough to make you puke. The same goes for the remake of It.

ICP Twiztid Boondox Blaze ABK Dark Lotus Ice Cube Gaelic Storm Stomp I don't know if these two count, but I have also seen Jeff Dunham and Bill Engvall in concert. There's several more, but I honestly can't remember any of them at the moment.

Why did you choose to damage my brain?

Damn you two make a girl feel old. I'm thirty-frickin-nine. 39 years old, and there's these damn kids talking about being the majority. So now I see that we need some more that remember what "regular or unleaded" meant. Those of us that remember grainy cartoons. And above all, those of us that remember that music attained scientifically proven perfection in 1986! 😉

Reading into the Past: The First Issues of N64 Magazine from 1997
The Blackangel replied to Kane99's topic in Nintendo
The only gaming magazine I ever bought was Tips & Tricks, because it had codes and cheats for almost every game that had a cheat up through PS1 and N64. I don't even know if the magazine still exists or not, but it was pretty good back then. -
One could say Sony and Microsoft both, as Sony was mostly a home stereo manufacturer, and Microsoft was almost strictly computers. But I would say the RCA Studio II and the Magnavox Odyssey 2 came from a couple odd companies.

In the beginning I was thinking that was filmed here, because the building in the screen before you click it to play, looks exactly like one that's on campus. I couldn't figure out why the hell they would film something like that here. I'm glad to see it was filmed in Paris. Or Europe at least.

How much direction do you want a game to give you?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
This was what turned me off from AC initially. It's also one of the issues that turned me off from Twilight Princess. I tried TP several times, but those damn wolf tutorials and forced challenges made me quit. I gave AC another chance, but with AC3 this time, and loved it. So now I'm into the series. -

Discs 1 and 4 of FF8 are pretty boring. Disc 1 is mostly just an intro to the game, and in disc 4 all the hell there is to do is get through Ultimecia's castle. you beat bosses to unlock your abilities, and move on to fight one of the easiest bosses in game history. -
Useless items you collect in video games
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I always go for all the figurines at the game shop in the Links Awakening remake. The only thing they really do is get out of the way for the occasional chamber stones, heart pieces and seashells. I also catch every kind of fish in the pond including the big blue one called Ol' Baron. In FF8 I always try to collect as many of the Triple Triad cards as I can. A lot of them can me turned into useful items, so that helps, but a lot of them are useless for items. So I just collect them to fill out the list. -
The white Arabian in RDR2. She's fast as hell, high stamina, and beautiful. The only downside is that she's panicky and dumb as a fucking rock.

The Legend Of Zelda I can tell you anything you want to know about this one. Including which bushes you can burn that will net you 100 rupees from traitor moblins. Zelda: A Link To The Past I know everything about the game, including the secret room by the castle, that almost no one knows about. If you have a question, ask me, and I can guarantee you I know the answer. I'm also pretty educated on Ocarina Of Time, and Links Awakening too.

Konami was one of my favorites. I mean who can forget gems like Contra? Sunsoft was another one. They made Blaster Master, one of my all time favorite games. Capcom was great too. DMC, several RE games, SF2, and more.

I pay homage to the Gods and Goddesses of ancient Greece. God Of War is directly related to Them. When people refer to all of Them as myths, then I get extremely offended. Just because they don't believe in Them that makes Them a myth? Is jesus a myth? Is Allah a myth? Is jehova a myth? Then shut the fuck up. Your bigoted bullshit needs to stay in your god damn head. -
The only overtly sexual game I ever played was Custer's Revenge. That one was definitely not a kids game, but for the time no one cared. "A white man raping nonwhite women? Who the hell cares?" My, how the times have changed. (note the sarcasm)

Obviously it was the NES era. One main reason is that the games were all so unique. Sure there were several popular franchise's, but there were a plethora of games that had no sequels, and were so far beyond unique that nothing even remotely similar has come out since. A few titles: A Boy And His Blob Astyanax Clash At Daemonhead Final Fantasy* Legacy Of The Wizard Marble Madness Street Fighter 2010 T&C Surf Designs Yo! Noid You're not going to find any games like these. Today everything is about a sequel. There is nothing original. Everyone follows the same tired game style. It's sickening. I can play 30 games on the NES and not play anything in the same genre of the other games every time. Today, you might get 2 games like that. Or if you're really crafty and resourceful, 3. I would give my left tit to see a developer take a chance and make something that's not out of left field, it's past left field. Something completely wild that's never been done before. But, alas, that's not going to happen. It's why I go no further than N64, with only a few exceptions. I would have added Blaster Master, but there were what I would term "failed attempts" at sequels. *I put Final Fantasy because until FFX, no Final Fantasy game had a true sequel. They were all vastly different, as if they weren't even part of the same franchise.

Feeling alienated by character changes
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Like a complete 180 on their personality. Someone is loyal and like family in the beginning, but as the game goes on they end up betraying you.
