  1. Also if that concrete block is their true design for the Series X, they need to go back to the drawing board, and come up with a whole new design. Under no circumstance would I ever allow such a monstrosity in my house. It's sickening to even look at in pictures. And if that is what they're going for I will take absolutely everything Xbox in my house and throw it in the trash. Call it a form of protest if that makes it any easier for you.
  2. I thought that immediately. I'm an obsessive fan of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp both. Tim's imagination and creative directions are amazing. All you have to do is look at The Nightmare Before Christmas to see that. I know Henry Selick directed it, but it was still Tim Burtons vision. As for the games, I'm wanting something really creepy as hell. Something realistic, that could be nightmare inducing.
  3. So they're nothing but a bunch of actors. Thank you for making my point.
  4. I used to watch, but lost interest after Wrestlemania 24. I just couldn't take a fake "sport" anymore. It's nothing more than a grown man's soap opera. If I'm gonna watch something like that I stick to UFC fights. It's real, unlike prowrestling.
  5. If I'm at a point where armor makes no required difference anymore, I'll change it just to look at something different. In Goblin Sword I have almost every suit of armor. While they don't add much of anything to your defense, they do give your character a different appearance. In Zelda OoT, I change Links tunic just to change up the color once in a while. Mainly it's boredom that leads me to change armors.
  6. I doubt the positive reviews will last. After we get out of this pandemic (assuming we do at all) they will go right back to bitching about video game addiction. Video games rot the mind, video games make people violent, video games make you worship the devil, etc. etc. etc. As gamers, we're never going to get the upper hand. Hell, we're never going to get the even hand.
  7. I use games like that on a daily basis. I escape my own mind by concentrating on something that doesn't affect my actual life. If I can leave my own mind and reality, it helps keep me from blowing my stack and completely wigging out. I just need to disappear from reality, and go into a fantasy world. My mind gets to revolving around things, and I start to dwell on shit, then I start getting angry, which in turn makes me start getting violent. That's when all hell breaks loose. If I didn't have something to distract my mind from itself, it would not be a good situation. I'm stuck in a fucking chair so what else do I have to do?
  8. Yeah, but is that really a good trade? It seems more that games are made to be art projects instead of entertainment. Why would I buy something just because I like how it looks if it's not simple to enjoy? I love the look of a manchineel tree. But It's deadly to try to enjoy. Even sitting under it is deadly. So instead I could sit under an oak and look at my manchineel without interacting with it. Not a lot of win there. I have it, and even though it's beautiful I can't enjoy it because it's all looks, whereas I can enjoy the oak in any way I want, being that it is a much simpler tree.
  9. Zelda A Link To The Past. If I'm watching YouTube I tend to play games that I've mastered just to keep my hands busy. If my hands, eyes, and ears aren't occupied I tend to have anxiety attacks.
  10. But isn't that the norm for a huge number of game series? So many make carbon copies of the previous entry just so they can make a sequel. The only real difference is the capabilities of the platform it's played on. COD, GTA, GOW, AC, Sports, Sonic, Mario, the list goes on. Some I listed are favorites of mine. Some, not so much. But still they get repetitive. Some games in a franchise are only a half step away from literally being the exact same thing puked up again but just with a slightly different title.
  11. I don't even know how to do it, so obviously, the answer is no.
  12. Thank you @Shagger. I had been wondering about that, which is why I've held off on playing for a bit, as once we got to that village (I'm assuming Riverwood?) that is where the game completely crashed in my initial attempt at playing. I didn't know if there was something else that I was supposed to do that I missed, or something. Maybe it was just a PS3 thing though. Hopefully Switch will offer a better experience.
  13. If I'm buying games in that kind of situation, it's almost exclusively through the Nintendo eShop. I've gotten some through Steam, and had no issues so far. A lot of it, I think, would depend on the game and the notoriety of the developer. If you're unsure just check their reputation, and game output. If they look shady, regardless of how good the game looks, then I would stay the hell away from them.
  14. The closest I have ever come to making cosmetic changes in a game is changing Links tunic in Ocarina Of Time.
  15. I have to agree with @digital. This pandemic has driven the economy almost to a standstill in a lot of areas. But in doing so, it gives a lot of industries extra time to look into things and make improvements, and fix issues that they didn't catch initially. Say there was a game that I was looking for that was supposed to come out on June 22nd. I just pulled a date out of my ass there. With the state of affairs now, >Insert Game Company Name< will have extra time to both improve their games, and put everything under a microscope to fix as many errors as the development team can find. If that means that I have to wait until holiday season or spring 2021, then I have no problem, other than a little disappointment and frustration. But as it sits, I have several hundred games to play anyway, so I have no shortage of video game entertainment.
  16. I have one question about Skyrim. Are you supposed to stay with the guy you initially escaped the tower with throughout the game, or go off on your own?
  17. I was sent this link through a text earlier to check the status of the stimulus checks we're supposed to be getting. It should spit out a date for when your check is estimated to come. If you're curious check it out. https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment
  18. I don't use social media. The closest I come to that shit is a couple forums(like VGR), and YouTube.
  19. Sonic was a disappointment to me, because the first three were, for all intents and purposes, identical. Sure the levels were drawn differently, but there was noting that made them unique except the number printed on the label.
  20. You make a very good point. Like, I loved Zelda from the original all the way up through the N64. But when Wind Waker came out, I was disgusted. If I wanted to watch a cartoon, I would watch a cartoon. It made me want to puke. And Twilight Princess was a total let down. They went too much for graphics, and too little for story. Final Fantasy also had it's problems. I love the first six, and FF8 is my all time favorite. But FF7, and then FF9-FF14 were, in my opinion, just horrible games. FF15 looks decent, but I haven't played it a whole lot. Final Fantasy has a lot of problems.
  21. My all time favorite game on the NES was Blaster Master. On SNES it was probably Zelda A Link To The Past. Maybe Legend Of The Mystical Ninja. On N64 it was hands down Zelda Ocarina Of Time. I hated Game Cube, and wasn't a particularly big fan of the Wii either. With Switch there are so many DDL games and physical games to pick from it's impossible to pick one. Many of my favorites from the old days have been remastered, or at lest ported to the Switch. The three that I play the most however, are FF8, Goblin Sword (DDL), and Zelda Links Awakening.
  22. I'm not the biggest fan of FPS games, but I like how this one looks. Do you know if it's strictly a Steam game, or if it's available through the Nintendo eShop?
  23. Lagging games is annoying as hell. I got the FF8 remaster on my PC before I bought the dual FF7/FF8 cart for my Switch. On the computer however it lagged so bad that it took forever to do pretty much anything. It drove me so nuts, that I actually stopped playing it and went back to the disc and Switch. As for crashes, as long as I'm not in the middle of something important, or at least not far into the game, I don't completely lose my shit. I started up my very first time playing Skyrim a couple months ago, and as soon as I escaped the tower where the dragon was attacking and got to that little village, the game crashed. It just started pulsing slowly in and out of focus and circling the room I was in really slowly. I don't know what the hell happened. I was at full health, and no one was attacking me. It just fucked up. But from what I understand that was pretty much the norm for the early releases. I was playing it on PS3. But I recently got it for Switch, so here's hoping it doesn't fuckup.
  24. Wow, you are young. I have never heard the words "Wii" and "nostalgia" in the same sentence. But then again, I'm coming from the Atari/Colecovision/NES era. I remember when the NES came out in 1985, the graphics and capabilities of the system were so high tech, everyone was blown away. Now people look at it and think something like "Those poor people. They had to suffer through something like that." I get a kick out of that. But something that pisses me off, is people playing the flashback/classic/mini consoles and thinking they have had a true experience with the old stuff. That shit is nothing more than an emulator. Also I have never heard of a Nintendo Touch. What is it? A successor to the Switch, or the next thing Nintendo is releasing to keep up with the PS5 and Xbox Series X?
  25. Are you asking for help in Uncharted or Skyrim?
