how long has ur favorite game been ur favorite
The Blackangel replied to TheSteelyardDweller's topic in Gaming Forum
FINALLY! Another hockey fan here! I’m a lifelong hardcore Detroit Red Wings loyalist. Win or lose, I’ll never abandon them. Last season was one of our worst in the last 20. But I’m with them, win or lose. I’m going to assume you’re a fan of one of the teams north of the border? Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, or Vancouver? -
By the time that one was released (assuming you’re referring to Mario Land) the SMB franchise was already extremely popular.

NES. No system can beat it. Games had a quality that has long since been lost. They were unique. Granted, there were a lot that we still see such as sports games, and a few franchises that are still running today. But on what other system do you see games like Marble Madness? Or how about Taboo: The Sixth Sense? Everything nowadays is a carbon copy or a sequel. Uniqueness was abandoned somewhere on the road.

Various Zelda games, and FF8 mostly. I picked up a couple new ones here recently on the Nintendo eShop that I'm looking to try out when I get a minute. But all in all, Zelda and FF8 are what I mainly stick to these days. I have Skyrim on my Switch, but I'm still having trouble actually getting into it, among other games like Witcher 3. Personally I would expect those to be right up my alley as they are the genre that I enjoy the most. But I'm just having difficulty getting "involved" I guess (?) in either game. I finished a game a few days ago that I'll never be able to play again, due to how emotionally invested I got in it. RDR2

I have a feeling that, after seeing the success of the Switch, Nintendo may be leaving the home console market and focus more on portable systems yet offer the ability to play on a television. Like the docking ability with the Switch. I have a Switch Lite, and absolutely love it. I'm on it all the time. It even has ports of some of my favorite games that were never offered on a Nintendo system like FF8. So if they focused on portable systems, they would be an unstoppable force since Sony and Microsoft would be focusing more on their home consoles. PSP and PS Vita never did all that well, while Game Boy and its variations (GB Color, GBA, GB Pocket, etc.) were in high demand. And to my knowledge Xbox has never even had a portable system.

If I had to pick, it would be the next Nintendo. If that's not an option then I may consider a PS5. But there's no way in hell I would bring that concrete block masquerading as a console into my house.

What game would you recommend the most for any Nintendo console, from NES to Switch, whether it's a Nintendo exclusive, or available on multiple platforms?

😲 WHAT?! Why the hell not?

VGR Member of the Month - July 2020 Nominations
The Blackangel replied to DC's topic in General Chat
There is another member I would like to nominate as well, but as we are limited to one nomination, and that member has already been nominated, my choice is @AndreiMirfi for member of the month. He has offered a lot of good posts, and been enjoyable to interact with. -
IPads for Gaming: Is it something you would use?
The Blackangel replied to DudeThatsErin's topic in Gaming Forum
Current iPhone's are extremely water resistant, almost to the point of being waterproof. I use an iPhone 6S, and i have dropped it in the dogs water bowl a couple times, and it suffered no damage. If I had left it in there, it would have been shot. But they're getting better at it. There are waterproof cases on the market for iPhone's, but they're expensive as all hell, and typically only available at an Apple store, as opposed to, say, the AT&T store where you get your service. Despite the fact that you get your phone there. -
If Johnny Depp hadn’t been in it, then I most likely never would have seen any of them. I’m not a fan of Disney. But I am however, obsessed with both Johnny Depp and Tim Burton. Unfortunately Tim had nothing to do with the movies. An interesting little tidbit of info: They got the idea of how to design the way Davy Jones looked from seeing coffee running down the side of a coffee cup.

I tried it out several years ago. I hated it.

HP Computers - What do you think about them as a company?
The Blackangel replied to DudeThatsErin's topic in PC
I stay with HP, as they’re the best on the market within my price range. They’re good computers, but tend to slow down bad after a while. But the worst you could ever have the misfortune of dealing with, or if you’re stupid enough to actually buy it, is a dell. They simply do not work. I had to fix them constantly when I was a kid. I was even fixing them for the tech school, because of how much of a piece of shit they are. The school knew how worthless they were after about literally 2 months. But there wasn’t much they could do about it because they had signed a contract. After that one lapsed though, I helped them throw the fucking things in the dumpster. I threw away the clothes I was wearing and sanitized my hands afterwards. -
Current gen consoles have shown me a bit about the physical/digital decision. On all 3 systems, if it’s available physical, the entire game is available digital. So you’re not exactly screwed just because the disc is, unless that would erase all your data.

Why can’t you play with him? Is your Lite not online? I wouldn’t recommend selling it. I say you should keep it. But that’s me. My girl has a Switch and I have a Lite, and we game together all the time with no issues.
-
If it’s compatible with the Switch, it’s compatible with the Switch Lite. The only difference between the two is the physical size, vibration function, and the docking ability.
-
True, but if you’re a major network like NBC, then it’s small potatoes. Local stations it’s different. But the big multinational companies can buy them 100 times over. And don’t even start in movie companies like Warner Brothers. They can buy them just to see how high they can drop it from before it breaks.
-
Don’t count out Nintendo just yet. They’ve been the industry leaders for more than 30 years and are showing no signs of slowing down. PS and Xbox are their only true competition, but they haven’t beaten them yet.

I use notes and reminders all the time. I have a lot of doctors (6 in total) that I see for a multitude of reasons. 3 of which are neurologists. So I always put my doctor appointments in the reminders, and I make notes when something pops in my head all the time, because I don’t carry a notebook with me all the damn time.
-
I never owned one either. I knew people who had one, but I just never developed any real interest in it.
-
After finishing it last night, I’m forever done with RDR2. It’s way too emotional for me, and I just don’t have it in me to go through it again.
-
I get my news here, or the occasional YouTube video if a thumbnail pops up that catches my eye.

It’s not a @Shagger problem. It’s a YOU problem @GUERILLA. I pointed out this very same thing when you first arrived here. Your posts are completely incoherent. You don’t use punctuation, you don’t make any kind of understandable points, and you attack people like a 3 year old child when they point it out. I’m not exactly the most popular person here, but you’re elevating my status here by acting like this. Try thinking your posts through, and make them something people can follow. If you’re not capable of that, then @Shagger is not the moron here.
