  1. I was getting ready to mention Mario 2. The one that I was gonna mention was Toad. I know most perceived Toad as male, but there was never any actual confirmation in any way. And if you look at the rest of the Mushroom Kingdom, they all look and dress identically. So Toad is one that I would call either genderless or androgynous. It kinda reminds me of what Gimli said in Lord Of The Rings: It’s true you don’t see many Dwarf women. In fact, they’re so alike in voice and appearance, that they’re often mistaken for Dwarf men.
  2. Considering that camping isn’t really playing the game, and seems kinda cowardly if you’re not specifically a sniper, they fucked up.
  3. After the movie came out, for a long time I always played the Mortal Kombat soundtrack when I played the game. It seemed appropriate to a kid.
  4. To some people like radically religious people, the closest to cursing that is allowed is mentioning people who are “damned” and talking about their religious version of “hell”. Or referring to a donkey as an “ass”. If it’s not written in their religious scriptures (Quran, bible, etc.) then it’s a one way ticket downstairs.
  5. If he’s on dial up, he would have limited data. Surprising as it may be, some people still use it. Money is a bitch, and you do what you have to. Also some companies offer plans that have limited data for a lower price, that’s not dial up.
  6. First off, I want to say that this fake bullshit 80’s nostalgia from 20 year old kids makes me sick. It’s another fad that none of them even have a clue what it’s even about. Now to answer the post. First off you have to consider that the graphic capabilities of the 1970’s were by today’s standards extremely primitive. But back then, they were pretty advanced for a gaming system. Atari was a pioneer in the industry, and are the ones that kept gaming alive through the crash of 83. The system was really basic. The games were usually a single screen game, and the controller was a simple joystick and button. That was an amazing way to play the games. Simplicity equaled entertainment back then. And for some of us, myself included, it still does. 8 years later in 1985, we got the NES here in the western market. It was a revolution. The games were complex, the screens scrolled, and changed in all. The graphics were something we never saw coming. For the time, and by comparison, they were right next to lifelike. Compare Mario Bros on Atari to Mario 3 on NES. And the games got larger, more complex, and more challenging. The only problem was the price. Most couldn’t afford $200 for it. Nintendo fever hit like nuclear bomb. Atari kept gaming alive through the crash, but Nintendo was the defibrillator that got the pulse strong and hard. I can’t really compare the games other than graphically, because they are so wildly different. I’m not going to go on to systems like the 5200, 7800, or Colecovision. I’m posting this from my phone, and I can’t type for shit on it. I’m sure there’s 100 typos and mangled words, but I’m also sure my point got across. When I get a chance to get on my computer and can use a real keyboard, I’ll answer to those.
  7. Not always. There's some of us who truly don't give a shit about our own health. Or anyone else's for that matter. No one is getting out of this world alive. All we're doing is postponing the inevitable. For what reason, depends on the individual.
  8. What to you is the biggest pain in the ass side task? At the moment to me, it's trying to catch a big fish on Zelda OoT. I've been fishing for over an hour now and the big one refuses to take my damn lure. It's about to drive me nuts. Other than that, the Shumi Village side quest in FF8 is a major pain and one of my least favorites.
  9. I dropped out as well. The bullying was too much, so I dropped out halfway into my junior year.
  10. It's not a can't let go thing, it's a don't want to let go. I enjoy playing the old games. A hell of a lot more than anything new. Old games were unique. New games are all carbon copy sequels. There is no originality in the games of today. That's why we play games that are 20+ years old. We don't like the new stuff, and we always liked the old stuff. There is no reason to give up something you enjoy just because it's old. I listen to 80's metal. It's the era I grew up in. I loved the music then, and I still love it now. Why should I stop listening to it?
  11. PS3 being their first Blu-ray system, I would expect it to be compatible. PS1 and PS2, I could see them leaving those out. I mean, honestly, aside from classic gamers, who actually plays PS1 and PS2 games anymore? Being a classic gamer myself, I know I do, but I have yet to meet anyone else who does.
  12. Zelda OoT. I'm actually In Dodongos Cavern as we speak.
  13. I’ve never actually played a game that even came near the subject. The LGBTQA+ community hasn’t been part of any games that I was even aware of. But I think it’s a great idea to see more games like that. As long as they’re not the villains all the damn time.
  14. It is something that can’t really be answered, as it’s all individual interpretation. Some may consider Mario jumping on a goomba violent. Others may not consider it violent until games like Hatred come in the mix. It’s a really difficult question. I would say that violence begins when there is actual gore and repercussions to your character and NPC’s in game. You can gut someone with a spoon, but if it doesn’t have them screaming and show details, then I don’t consider it violent. I can get run through, and if I don’t see the pain and disbelief on my characters face as the blood runs down my body, then I don’t see violence. Mortal Kombat is not violence. That is a game created to attempt violence. Violence has to include psychological damage as well as physical damage. If both aren’t inflicted, then it’s simply not violence.
  15. If I remember right you're from Scotland? If that's right, what are your thoughts on the big grey man of Ben MacDhui?
  16. What year did/will you graduate HS?
  17. The Devil offers you a deal: You will get everything you will ever desire. Magic(k) powers, immortality for you and those you love, perfect health, all material items, and more. But in return you open the door for him to come into the world and steal a single soul every year. Do you take the deal?
  18. Are there any bands that from a single note you can identify both band and song?
  19. Would the Addams family game be Festers Quest?
  20. That one would be crazy. And can you imagine trying to play it in first person? That's a major mindfuck there. I'd buy it.
  21. That seems to happen often with a lot of games. I've experienced it too much, and games that I thought I would love, turned out to be something that caused me more anxiety and/or frustration than anything. It's part of the reason I have so many games that I have never played, and why I've had such a hard time with Skyrim.
  22. It was in my news feed on my phone. I get a bunch of stories from different sources. Things like The Huffington Post, CNN, The Washington Post, and other news outlets. I honestly don't remember which one it was that I read that on.
  23. They're not giving it. They're loaning it. And we will have to pay it back with a minimum of 100% interest. So basically if we get $1000, we will have to pay the government back $2000. It's a way to screw the citizens. It's not helping anyone, it's crippling those of us who can barely support ourselves even further.
