  1. Why should/would it be any different than say, basketball or hockey? The professionals get paid there, so shouldn't the professionals here get paid as well? I have no hope of ever becoming a professional athlete unless wheelchair sports suddenly go pro. So if I wanted to be professional at some kind of game, I would go for video gaming. But a lot of that is the wilder stuff that I'm just not capable of. Like speedruns, and nuttier things like beating Zelda without ever collecting a single rupee. It can be done, but you have to know how to pull off some serious glitches. There are people who beat the original Zelda without a sword. How I don't know, but they do it. Also you have to consider people who are agoraphobic. There's no way they could compete in any sport played on a field or arena. So gaming is their area of expertise.
  2. You and me both. Every time I come in here, some new asshole thinks it's a good idea to make one post promoting some shithole game and nothing else. The forum is flooded with these dicks. It's getting harder and harder to weed through the bullshit posts to find the ones that are actual discussions. Don't get me wrong, new members are a good thing and bring new viewpoints to the discussions. But this shit is getting fucking old.
  3. @ShaggerThat mod adds more realism than people will realize. If you've never either been a hunter or in the military, then typically you won't realize how a real firearm is handled. You don't walk around with it pointed straight out in front of you EVER. That WILL get someone killed. If you trip you will instinctively tighten your grip on whatever weapon you have in your hands, and even if it's on safe, nothing is fool proof. And if you're stupid enough to not have the weapon on safe until you get to your destination, then you have no business looking at it, let alone handling it. I sold a couple of my rifles a few years back, and predominantly only have handguns now. Aside from my revolver, none are fire ready. I keep the clips full, but never chamber a round unless I'm about to pull the trigger. More often than not, hunters do hold their rifle to the side like that. Others prefer to hold it resting on their shoulder. You have better control holding it to the side with both hands in my opinion, but you need to go with what's more natural and comfortable for you because you will have better control over where your weapon is aimed. But to get back to the game, that's a great mod @Crazycrab That's a bit of an unfair statement. The reverse of that has to fall under that as well. Why would any sane person avoid first person games because of the perspective? Some like the one, but not the other. I see it a lot like VR games where a headset is required. That's first person, but many of us have no interest in it. When it's all based on opinion, you can't call one preference insane without the other one eventually being called insane as well. Like I said, I'm not the biggest fan of first person perspective. But I have played a couple semi-enjoyable games. However I have no intention of getting any on purpose, such as Fallout or Doom.
  4. I’m just wondering, what specifically is the allure of FP games? I have a couple, and I gotta say, I’m not a fan of the angle. I don’t know if it’s a difficulty thing, but I would much rather play in 3rd person. Maybe part of it is being a classic gamer where most games are either a side scroller or a top down view. With the exception of most N64 games. But for me, 3rd person just isn’t all that enjoyable. Personal preference I guess? Anyway, I really do want to know what the draw is for you?
  5. I used to use an iPad for gaming. Until it pissed me off and I broke it with a whiskey bottle. That was the first iPad, and I haven't had one since.
  6. Gaming is the only thing that keeps my head on straight. I need it to escape the real world. If I didn't have some sort of escape that completely took me out of this world, the results would not be pretty. I have to keep my hands, ears, and eyes occupied at all times, or I start getting tense and extremely antsy. I lash out, and people have gotten hurt in the past. I can't sit and watch a movie or TV unless my hands are occupied as well. It doesn't necessarily have to be a game if I'm trying to watch something, but something has to keep my hands occupied.
  7. I don't have a problem with people buying/selling/trading here. But when that's their first post, it pisses me off. I don't care what they're peddling. They just want revenue and don't give 2 shits about contributing to a forum. If this was someone that we all knew like @skyfire or @DylanC or @killamch89 or someone, then I would be all over it asking for items. But some dickhead making only that one post is bullshit.
  8. I'll help you out. Click on the thing in the upper right hand corner where you see your name, and a little drop down menu will appear. At the bottom of that it says Sign Out. Click it. @DC Can you at least remove the link from this asshole?
  9. I remember when FF8 came out on PS1, guides were flying off the shelves faster than stores could get them in. And it was all due to Caraway's mansion on disc one. When Quistis, Selphie, and Zell comeback so Quistis can apologize to Rinoa they get locked in that room. At the time, NO ONE could figure out how the hell they were supposed to get out. There's a supposed "clue" that is so insignificant that no one would put 2 and 2 together. It was one of 10 pictures hanging on the god damn wall. Yeah. That helps. Thanks a lot assholes. And for those of us that weren't fast enough to get a guide (which was about $50 at the time BTW) we had to find someone that had one and ask them what the hell we were supposed to do. Fuck Doomtrain, The Deep Sea Research Center, or figuring out what the hell is up with that damn spaceship stealing the Moai. We just wanted to advance the god damn story. That part was one of the reasons FF8 was the most hated Final Fantasy game until FF13 came out. But I still play it like a fiend, and know (I would guess) around 90%-95% of the game. I can answer almost any question someone has about it.
  10. I have an Instagram that I haven't touched in forever, and a throwaway FB account. The only reason for that one, is that so many things are on FB and you have to have an account to view other accounts. I play with the images every so often so that the FB system thinks I'm using it. Other than that, my social media goes no further than a couple forums and YouTube.
  11. I’m a classic gamer and rarely go any further than N64. I’m typically in my NES or SNES, and I play the real thing. None of that pathetic worthless flashback bullshit. I also play my Atari and Sega a hell of a lot as well. So I will be very interested in checking out your channel. I may even recommend a few games for you to check out.
  12. I don’t share anything at all for 2 reasons. 1) I despise online gaming. 2) I’m a classic gamer, and old cartridge systems don’t exactly go online.
  13. I found this game recently and it's a blast. No pun intended.
  14. They didn't even put a CD player in the PS4 and it offered no reverse play. So why would they do it with the PS5 is what I want to know. It's just not going to do Sony any good from what I can see, unless they offer the ENTIRE LIBRARY OF GAMES from all systems. That's thousands of games. It would cost so much that Sony would completely lose out, and the PS5 may be the end of PlayStation. It's not financially a good idea or investment.
  15. They slowed up making PS3 games early into the PS4's life. By the midway of the PS4 life, they had stopped PS3 game production entirely. It was outdated machinery, so there was no point in keeping up with it. The most popular games, like Skyrim, GTA, and COD were all either ported or the next in the series put out on PS4, among other systems. I think Morrowind and Oblivion are available on PS4, but I'm not 100% sure on that.
  16. I have that exact Sega not 3' from me.
  17. There's been a couple times I have been so stuck I had no choice but to buy game guides or go online. I bought game guides back when I was a kid and had no clue what the hell I was doing. Now if I get stuck on something, there typically is no guide printed anymore, so I have to check it out online. It's a pain in the ass, but that's what those videos and walkthroughs are for. Either way I still hate it.
  18. In RDR2, I'm a cold blooded murderer. I kill everything I come across. I don't have to, but I kill them and loot their bodies. The only ones I don't kill are the ones that the game just won't let me kill, and the ones in my group. Even though there's a few I would like to kill. But the game doesn't allow you to kill your own. You could be behind them with a bounty hunter in front of them and when you kill the bounty hunter from behind, it must have been a magic sentient bullet that decided to go around your friend to kill the bounty hunter. Everyone else though, is a dead man. I just have fun killing them. I can't do it in real life, so why the hell not in a video game? The graphics are realistic as hell, which only adds to my orgasm when I kill someone. Yeah, it's a sexual thrill at times when I kill people. It's just part of being a sociopath. I love the blood.
  19. A lot of trailers show actual gameplay, which helps out a lot. If I watch a trailer and all it is is screenshots, then the trailer was completely pointless to me. I would have to go to YouTube and find a video if I was that interested in agame. But in the Nintendo eShop, all games have that. A series of screenshots are 100% guaranteed, so you can get a look at the game. And often a video trailer showing gameplay is included.
  20. If that's what we're going for, then I have no ethics within video games. I play Hatred as you know, and have killed everything with a heartbeat in it, including children and animals. The animals I kill quickly, but the humans I take my time with, including the children. I have never raped anyone in the game, except once. It didn't do anything for the game, and took too damn long, so I was bored as hell during it. But when I got back to slaughtering, It was all good.
  21. It's another spam bot. There most likely is no game, and those are all just a bunch of stock images found on a Google search.
  22. CDKeys is shady as hell to begin with, and now their lackeys are are spamming every gaming org and store they can. Pathetic.
