Ghouls 'N Ghosts has unrealistic difficulty. You take one hit and you're dead. If you're lucky enough to make it 10 seconds in wearing armor, then it's 2 hits and then you're dead. And there are no continues either. You die and it's game over. As the AVGN said: "It's games like this that the Game Genie was made for."

What makes for good or bad AI in video games?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Bad AI would be when, no matter how many times you play the game, a boss follows the exact same pattern every time. I have a game here (can't remember which one) that I can literally fight and defeat the boss with my eyes closed. Because it doesn't deviate from the same scripted movements. Good AI makes enemies completely unpredictable. If the only thing you can predict about it is its physical appearance, then you have good AI. -
I would have to say Disturbed. They hit on actual issues with their music, and everything has an actual meaning behind it. They have released 8 albums and every song has held a meaning behind it and/or told a story. Whereas most metal bands are releasing only hard hitting screaming Disturbed does so much more. Their music is not only innovative, but inspiring as well. It has inspired me to be a better singer. Here are some videos to give you an idea what I'm talking about.

How hard do you work to avoid video game spoilers?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Considering the fact that I play classic systems almost exclusively, there's not really a lot left that could have any kind of spoilers. I have a couple games that are, for all intents and purposes, completely unknown. And no, they're not ROM-hacks. For example how many people here know about the NES game Taboo The Sixth Sense? I bet there's very few people here that know much about Astynax, Clash At Demonhead, or Legacy Of The Wizard either. And that's only one system. So unless it's a game (NES mainly) that I have never heard of, (highly unlikely) then there's not much out there that could be any kind of spoiler. -
Either way, the best you can get is an HP. Unless you’re going specifically for a gaming laptop. Anything else and HP is the best you can get. Also stay as far away from anything Dell as you can get. Dell is the most pathetic excuse for any form of computer in existence. They never work, and only cost you money that you’re never going to see again. I was constantly having to fix the damn things at the technical school when I was in HS before I dropped out. I kept telling them to get HP systems, but the district had some kind of contracts with Dell. But I heard that after the contracts expired they threw the worthless things in the trash and signed on with a worthwhile brand.

I mentioned this in the TV show video game thread before I saw this one. I have Monopoly on PS1. I was going through a phase where all I wanted to do was play Monopoly a few years ago, but had no one to play with. So I bought the disc.

I have Jeopardy on NES, and it’s extremely easy. I don’t remember how I actually ended up with it. It had to be part of a bundle I picked up at some point. That’s the only thing I can think of. The only other game I have in this realm is Monopoly on PS1. But that one I did buy myself. I was going through a Monopoly phase and had no one to play with. So I had to get it on a console.

Trust me, you will not regret it. Q*Bert is a masterpiece of a game.

While I grew up with Nintendo, I have to say that the most comfortable controller is the PS4 controller. I like that PlayStation kept the same controller for every system instead of changing it every time, but the slight adjustments that they made with the PS4 controller made it get my vote. If I was going to go with a Nintendo controller it would be the N64 controller.

What microtransactions are okay/not okay for you?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
If it's purely optional and doesn't hold the game back, then I don't have a problem with microtransactions. But if they're more or less required to get to a certain point or quest/sidequest in the game, then that's when I start having a problem with it. -
I knew Lucas was going to regret selling Star Wars. Granted the billions they offered seemed pretty sweet at the time, but he should have known that he would make more money than they could offer if he kept it, and also that they would destroy the series. Episodes 1-3 were bad enough, especially 2 & 3 (Hayden Christianson) but did we have to see one of the greatest sagas thrown into the shit shredder?

Absolute Worse Games In History (Not By Opinion)
The Blackangel replied to The Blackangel's topic in Video Games
Another game that could arguably be called one of the worst is Battletoads. The spin off from TMNT is obvious even to the blind. But that’s not the problem. The concept of the game was a good idea. The difficulty issue is where the problem lies. It’s hard enough in single player, but in co-op mode the difficulty is amplified 100 fold. Because now you have to worry about the other player. Their attacks against enemies see no difference between them and you. And if one on you screws up, both of you suffer the consequences. Take the jet bike level. One player misses a jump, you both die. The difficulty of the game was just way too much for the era. Even now it’s still a little much. -
Innovation takes a hell of a lot of time and work. I think too many developers have forgotten that.
