  1. We have multiples of several consoles. The reason is due to how many TV's and different rooms we have. For example I have a PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and all my Nintendo's in my home office. @Rain Dew has the same systems in the living room. We also have a couple in our bedroom. So we can game wherever we are in the house. She prefers the living room and I prefer the office. So if he is in the same situation I could see him keeping both of them. After all, We have 2 PS5's, and an Xbox Series S.

    I have a question.

This is a gaming forum. If we can't "chat" about the games then what is the point of posting? I'm just confused. Not mad. Just trying to understand what it is you want us to do? Is there some formal format for a post cuz I don't know how to post without actually chatting about what I'm posting about. That's what a discussion is correct?

Your confusion is completely understandable. And thank you for not holding your tongue, as many do. What we're looking for is members wanting to add to the forum, not their personal numbers. What many don't realize is that posting numbers don't relate to popularity. Members who have posted for years now have gotten a feel for this place, and know how things work. Thus their posts are for the most part on topic and educating. Sure there are places to post goofy and light hearted fun, and that's always welcome in the correct sub-forum. If you look at the leader boards, you will see many people leading in different categories. But just because they are leading in the category doesn't mean that every post they have made was worth making. So post as much as you want. We don't mean machine gun posting. But post when and where you feel you can add to the discussion. If you have any questions you can always PM me, or @Shagger and @DC if you prefer. Part of our job is helping members when they need it.

  4. I always listen to CD's in the car. I can't stand radio because it's either country or bubblegum pop. And bubblegum pop is nothing but the exact same whiny bullshit puked up over and over. And considering that 99% of what I listen to is underground music anyway, it's CD's or nothing.

With YouTube, I watch the occasional music video but I'm more into news and documentary type videos. But I still spend several hours a day on it.

  5. Art is completely open to personal interpretation. For example I hate so called "modern art". I was at the local art museum several years ago, and their featured exhibit was nothing more than a white canvas with 2 red stripes that intersected near a corner. HOW THE UNHOLY FUCK IS THAT ART?????? Unless it was da Vinci's drop cloth, it isn't. Sure they also have some great pieces and it's a nice museum, but give me a damn break. I've seen far superior art int he Ripley's museum, such as a full scale replica of a stagecoach made entirely from matchsticks. Including the glass. Though I don't know where the hell you would get a clear matchstick.

As for my art, it's the written word. As I've said many times, I've written 2 full length novels, several short stories, and a hell of a lot of unconventional poetry. Yet I'm the only person on earth who can fuck up a stick figure.

  6. I'm already registered and so is @Rain Dew as well. Lucky for us, our polling place is right across the street. After casting our vote, we're coming home and not opening the door for anyone. The cops here in town are corrupt and heavily bigoted and right wing, so I'm sure some chickenshit republiKKKlan will let them know that we voted Democrat, and try to scare us into changing our vote. I own guns, so I'm not scared. And there's no law that says you're required to open your door for cops, let them in, or step outside with them.

The tap water in Scotland is pretty good so I almost never buy bottled water.

A hell of the water here in the states is too toxic to drink, and I'm not talking about Flint. Their water is deadly, whereas with the rest of the country, it's just too toxic to drink. It's fine to do things like shower and do laundry. But it's too dangerous to drink it.

I would love some good old-fashioned tap water again. It was pretty good at our old house/city.. but then we moved out here more in the country right on a lake.

It was somewhat like that for me. The water at home was enough to make you sick just from the taste alone. But only a couple miles away at my grandmas house, the water tasted amazing. And we were on the same lines. I'll never understand what the hell the damn difference was, but I guess it's a moot point these days.

  8. I love horror movies. I'm into the psychological, Satanic, supernatural, and paranormal kind of movies. Things like Rose Red(psychological), Hellraiser(Satanic), The Bye Bye Man(supernatural), and Ouija(paranormal). I'm not into the goofy kind of horror movies like Paranormal Activity. Most slasher flicks suck too, especially since they go into an obscene amount of sequels. But there are some true gems out there like The Conjuring/Annabelle movies.

  9. Alcoholism tends to run in my family, so I'm predisposed to it. My parents were both heavy chain smokers. The instant they put one out, they lit up another one. Even when pregnant with me, my mother didn't quit or even slow down. The damage it did to me while I was in utero is pretty obvious to those that know me in person.

I have an addiction to pornography, I won't lie. It's certainly not the healthiest "hobby" to get into, but I was hooked from young, so it's a hard habit to kick, especially if you're single.

I understand your compulsion. Many men I have known had addiction to pornography. I don't really get it myself, but that doesn't negate the fact that it's a real addiction. That's why there's sex addict support groups, the same as there is AA and NA.

It depends on the game. Some of the games I hate the sounds so much that I play them muted. Some I have to lower the sound on certain aspects. Some are just too repetitive or too annoying. They start bugging my anxiety.

That's roughly me. When I was a kid I would get beat even harder if they could hear the sound coming from my gaming. So I ended up turning the sound off. Newer games where the dialogue is so much more complex, I don't mute. RDR2 for example is one that I don't mute. But the classic games, I almost always mute them. I either have to love it's soundtrack or the game has to be something where the sounds are virtually required. But the vast majority of games that I play are always muted.

I agree to some extent. I think Goldeneye has aged fairly poorly in terms of graphics though. I think for this remaster, they just updated the visuals/locations and character models. But I think that was it. They may have changed the shooting mechanics, but I don't know, as the Perfect Dark HD remaster didn't change the shooting mechanics. So maybe it won't be the same.

Graphics for PS1/N64 haven't aged well. A lot of the early 3D games look horrible today. It sometimes bothers me to play retro games on these consoles, because a lot of them have aged so poorly that I honestly get eye strain for playing too long. I'm surprised I was able to survive these games back when I was a kid lol.

Considering how life like the graphics are today, anything from the Wii and back has outdated graphics that most would consider extremely poor. I saw somewhere online someone saying that people who play any old graphics aren't real gamers. I let the kid have it. I've been gaming since before a lot of the members here were even born. I love 2, 8, 16, and 64 bit graphics. I'm the type of person who doesn't care what other people are into. For example, I listen to Nickleback. Sure the world may hate them, but I like their music, so I see no reason to not listen to them.

With the PS1/N64, by comparison to today's graphics you're absolutely right. They haven't aged well. The only graphics I can think of that even come close to being realistic, are the cutscenes in FF8. Everything else was pixelated as hell. But that was simply due to the graphic capabilities of the time. Also there were no motion capture games. It was all completely digital animation.

So now that we have actors both in voice and action, the games we have are basically interactive movies.

But, you also have to remember that a lot of us value nostalgia. With me, it could possibly be a little excessive. I listen to 80's rock, play 80's games, and drive a 1987 Iroc-Z.
Have ever I mentioned that I'm a child of the 80's?

  12. I've never known anyone personally, but I have seen the effects of gambling addiction. Loss of job, house, cars, and more important, family. People who can't control their addiction and get help for it often lose everything.

Like any addiction, it can easily destroy you. I had a massive drug problem when I was younger, but I was lucky enough to beat it. I've now been clean for 18 years, but it's a never ending battle to keep from falling back into it. When you have heavy stress you think things like "A little bit of blow would settle me down". There's no such thing as "a little bit of blow". Do it once and you're back in.

@Rain Dew has said that if I do fall back in she would do what she had to to get me help. But if I refused, or kept using in secret, she would leave me. So I fight myself to keep from going back. I have a medical marijuana card, so that helps if I feel that I absolutely have to get stoned.

  13. RDR2. There's the trapper requests, and I can't do it. The reason why, is because for a few articles of clothing that he can make, it requires rats. One hat requires ten rat pelts, and another requires a single rat pelt. I will never harm or kill a rat. They are sacred animals to me, so I no longer try to complete all side quests. I complete as much and as many as I can. But there's a limit to what I will do.
