StormyFire Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Do you use Origin? I use Origin, but I only use it because of The Sims 4. I prefer Steam for other games.
Shagger Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 I thought EA were ditching Origin in favour of EA Desktop?
The Blackangel Posted January 30, 2022 Posted January 30, 2022 Never in my life heard of Origin. What is it?
Shagger Posted January 30, 2022 Posted January 30, 2022 (edited) Origin is to EA what what Steam is to Valve, their own indigenous PC Game store and launcher. Edited January 30, 2022 by Shagger killamch89 1
The Blackangel Posted January 30, 2022 Posted January 30, 2022 Never heard of Valve either. Damn I am out of the loop.

You forgot to add that it's buggy at times and is prone to locking up at random times for no good reason. I use mine to play NFS: heat and every now and then it locks up on me and when I contact EA (why do I even bother when I already know what they'll say), it's usually some generic message which doesn't really help so I have search Reddit for somewhat of a solution.
skyfire Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 I think the lot of old games continue to have the old dashboards and the platforms installs in them. So any new name changes happen they don't reflect in already released games installs.

Kane99 Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Origin, or EA Desktop is just another game launcher we have to deal with. We have too many launchers now. I hate that every company has to make their own game launcher now. Or even game downloading service. Soon enough, each company will just sell their own games on their own sites, defeating the point of Origin to begin with.

I even had to make a folder just for the shortcut to all these flipping launchers because they were taking up my home screen.
Head_Hunter Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 I don't run my main home screen with lots of widgets or simply adding more of the apps, it covers the screen space for me, I don't like such kind of cluster on my Android, I simply remove them there to free up space.
Justin11 Posted February 12, 2022 Posted February 12, 2022 It will be distorting indeed, seeing apps covering my home screen, I simply need some space in the home screen side, and not covering it with apps.
Patrik Posted February 12, 2022 Posted February 12, 2022 haven't heard about Origin for a good while now that i thought it doesn't exist anymore LOL

A lot of games I remember used to release their own dashboard like the origin is. in the times of CD and DVD those became part of installers but not necessarily those are active these days. that's what I meant.
