Saints Row 2 deserves highest ratings of games. It may be a masterpiece

Recommended Posts

How many people have actually played the game? Playing games in the same genre, I have to say Saints Row 2 deserves respect. It deserves awards that it never got. I won't let it pass in undiscovered territory. It's a must play. Out of all the driving type games I've played, this game beats them all and it's a ps3 generation game as what I'm playing on.

My reasons are because it has tons of side activities to do that are super fun and crazy like the firetruck, play a cop, helicopter rides, tramp escort, ambulance, boat rides etc. It has a dystopia feel which I love. My character I created through customization is awesome. You can pay for plastic surgery to change your character looks. Most games you can't. The gameplay is amazing. It's over the top GTA. It's like they took all the best out of GTA and put it together into one and took it to another level. GTA 5 still stands as one of the best games in this genre, but SR 2 goes beyond the pale. If you love GTA, this is a must. You can save your vehicles, customize them, get tattoos, piercings, makeup, clothing, or go nude, or walk around in underwear. Graphics are superb for a ps3 gen. Music is great. And when you exit the vehicle, you can still hear the music while you cap people or drink a 40 oz. It's just an all around fun game that I can't get enough of. You can have a theme for your gang members. Mine is pimps and prostitutes. You can always change it. Not a game for children, that's for sure.

I see the same trend with Saints Row that I do a lot of game series I enjoy: the first game is great in that it's raw and unrefined; the second perfects the formula; and the third adds more but not to the series-as-a-whole's benefit. Saint's Row 2 is easily my favourite and most replayable out of the three, but I'd easily find myself hopping into the first game if it was easily available on PC.

They are remaking Saints Row 1 and getting released in August this year. That's a game I'm excited for. I'm having a blast with SR2. Seems like every time I play there is something new to discover. Fun at its finest. That's the first and only game in the series I've played, but I do have 3 and 4. I'm gonna play through 2, then play the remake, then 3 and 4. It's interesting that the entire series came out on the Xbox360, ps3 generation. I'm glad for the reboot.

Saints Row, an alternative choice to GTA series. The very first time I watched gamers playing it, I thought it was another GTA game, only for one of the spectator there, telling that, it isn't a GTA game, that it is Saint Row 1. Afterwards I decided on the game, that's how I got into playing the game. I am yet to getting the edition 2, I was very much pleased with the first edition, I will rate it double platinum.

I do totally agree that Saints Row 2 was completely underrated. It's too bad that GTA 4 was out released earlier that year so it completely overshadowed.

I believe so too that the release of GTA 4 earlier that year as Saint's Row 2 was released did impacted on the game more than we all expected.

Marketing is very essential in any given item or product, if your company lack such prowess definitely the game wouldn't record good number of sales, that might be the case why saints row II didn't get enough plaudit due to bad marketing.

I know Saints Row was initially a GTA "clone" but I really enjoyed the experience. I bought 2, 3, and 4. 2 was amazing. I'm still working through 3, and I have 4 on standby.I have enjoyed every minute of it. It's so ridiculous it kills me. 3's wrestling match with Killbane had me in stitches.

Did you experience the stuttering issues with Saints Row 3 when you played it? A friend of mine complained about it.

It seems like so long ago when I played Saints Row 2 but I remember it very well. This was another game I spent so much time on, and I have to agree with you, it does not get the recognition it deserves, and it really should have got more. I just last year I think it was bought Saints Row and Saints Row 2 on offer on Xbox and I now have them to go back to at any time. I am always tempted to go back to Saints Row 2 because it was such a great game. If there is anyone who has never played it, I highly recommend you do.
