  1. If you read my review I actually praise the graphics and technical aspects of the game, it is the re-writing of the story and dialogue and changes to characters that is the disservice to the original. If you never played the original you probably won't pick up on any of it, as you are not aware of the 'definitive' version.

    How Big Is Your Backlog?

Lol, if you watch closely, you'll come to understand that, I failed to calculate the total value of the gamer's spending to acquire those video games.

  4. The time I could've used to play RDR-2 or far cry 5, GTA 5, Assassins Creed Valhalla, TLOU 2 etc. I am simply using it to play FIFA 22, that's why I never really completed any game this year, and I'm bothered about that..

  5. 11 pages in and I don't think I've commented on this... OK, do I think it's unfair that early buyers get early access, no. However, do I think that those offers are used as a form of manipulation and that that is in fact the main goal, yes. That means I HATE them. Getting early access, epically with the kind of progress = benefits systems that dominate multiplayer these days, is just another form of pay-to-win in my opinion. There is a difference between games that reward people for opting in early and games that punish people for not opting in early, and sadly most "AAA" games follow the latter.

  6. Thanks for your feedback. We are playing a video ad through January 11. I'll see if we can get the ad to default to mute. I agree, that would be helpful. Please see this thread about disabling ad blocker on VGR to help us afford to pay our staff writers and offer forum giveaways.

  9. On a serious note, the amount of free games Epic offers does feel like a necessity rather than something they don't need to do, and I feel that way because the service itself just doesn't offer what Steam offers right now. They need to improve the service itself if the intend on being taken seriously as an alternative to Steam. Despite that, I do feel that there is at least some fanboy bullshit at work with people rejecting EGS over Steam. There are people deliberately rejecting the undeniable benefits that EGS offers not just to customers but developers as well just through some nonsensical loyalty to Steam, and I don't get it. Even GOG (operated by CD Project Red) can't seen to pry people away from Steam. This is a fact, EVERYONE should buy thier single player games from GOG and not Steam if the option is there because of GOG's DRM policy. Why people do by games from Steam and not GOG, especially considering the prices are pretty much the same will forever baffle me. Yes, there may be times that games are discounted on Steam and not GOG so they're cheaper, OK, I'll go with that that, but the opposite is often the case as well and people will STILL buy the game on Steam and it makes no sense to me. I've said this before elsewhere and one of the most common things that people say is "Look at Steam's controller support!" Well, and I not kidding, I have had WAY more trouble with controller support on Steam than any other game launcher on PC. Just recently, for example, Steam convicted itself that the third party controller I was using was an Nintendo Switch Pro controller and wouldn't work with some of my games, and on others, displayed the wrong icons, and steam would not let me change it. Two days of hell, then I think my toenails grew to within one millionth on an inch to what size Valve wanted them to be and it suddenly started working properly with no explanation. That's only one of the issues I have had with Valve's controller support over the years. Getting back to buying games on PC, and It's same deal with Epic and it is on GOG. If a game is cheaper on EGS than it is on Steam, I'll buy it from Epic without any guilt at all, but I can't help but get the feeling from the wider gaming community that I'm supposed to feel guilty by doing so and I don't know why. But really, I don't care. I owe Steam nothing. Not my loyalty, not my praise. It's just an option to buy PC games. Nothing more and nothing less.

  11. There is no justification for doing that unless you have someone else to buy the game for which is a normal thing to do.

  12. Violence. But that's not really due to gaming. It only helped me go numb to it. I often walk up to people I've killed in RDR2 and shoot them in the head with a shotgun of some sort just to watch their head explode. It's really funny to see them laying there, their head explodes, and there's nothing left but a stump. It's also why I play Hatred. I relate to The Antagonist and feel everything he does. Going out and killing every human that he encounters. The cops eventually get you, but you can make it into the PD and kill a lot cops them in there, as opposed to looking for civilians. But running out of ammo sucks.

  17. I really don't love much of the gambling, I simply want video games to be known as video game, and not imitating what's not their image.

  18. Seriously, this would be a very big problem in the gaming industry especially for gamers that are trying to battle their addiction.

  19. One thing that I know to be very common when it comes to gambling is how addictive it gets. It will heighten the level of addiction to games.

  20. I just hope video game companies don't ruin the playing time with gambling features and making it mandatory for everyone to gamble. If it's the way I think, then it gonna be more ridiculous.

  21. That's is true, we can't really stopped playing even when this unhappy decisions are made. We still get along with it due to the fun. But if it continues being unfavourable they'll simply lose lots of gamers because of it.

  23. Seriously, it's really a shame that we keep paying for what we are not supposed to pay for as it's worthless but we can't stay away from it.

  24. What you said is simply what's going around those video game companies. That's why I've taking time off from purchasing their video games, I simply prefer playing the old games until improvement comes.
