Yeah, the Barcelona - PSG Neymar transfer deal was the last nail in the coffin for beginning of absurd transfer prices for players. Neymar was never worth that amount of €222 million. Barcelona just quoted that amount thinking that PSG would walk away from the deal but to their greatest surprise, PSG sent the complete payment at once in a cheque. I saw a copy of the payment cheque back then if it was the original thing anyways.
It's not even just how much they buy these players but also the insane contract that they sign with the players. Look at a younger player like Kylian Mbappe in his last ditch contract signing for PSG, the club had to throw in everything including giving him power to completely manage his image rights where he's supposed to earn €50 million per annum and in addition to his bonuses which is €180 million for staying in PSG. It's only Messi contract at Barcelona where he earned €75 million per annum that topples what Mbappe earns currently.
PSG have the team that's capable of winning every tournament in the year but it's almost impossible to manage them. I'm not sure if there's any manager that's going to be able to get them in line. Unai Emery failed, Thomas Tuchel failed, Mauricio Pochettino failed and more are still most likely going to face the same fate or tough challenges.

I guess it's something natural when you're kid you're bound to get a ball of some sort and since football is the most populair sport every kid pretty much plays it. So you have pretty much no other choice then to join in. Over here you get gym class from the age 4 i think, so naturally you'll get introduced into different kinds of sports early on.
I've always loved baseball as a kid but it's not a sport that get's practiced a lot here, same with hockey we got to play that a couple of times in elemantory school but back then it wasen't populair and it's only in the past few years it's become more and more populair. Other things i've always enjoyed as a kid was dodge ball which i was pretty good at and volleyball same thing i was pretty good at it well much better then football. Skateboarding was also my jam when i got a bit older eventough i was probably the best skater from my group of friends since i was the only one who could do a kickflip and heelflip but for some skateboarding was more about hanging out rather then skating, but i gave up on it when i started working and everybody i knew quited anyway.

The 1994 San Marino Grand Prix at Imola is arguably the most infamous race weekend in the of history F1, perhaps Motorsport in general.  Fatal crashes were of course nothing new in F1, for a long time they were actually fairly common.  I think what made Imola 94 so infamous was a combination of the high profile of the one of the driver's involved and the fact that there had not been a fatal incident in years.  You could even argue it become so "safe" that they were borderline complacent.

First, Rubens Barrichello was injured in a high speed crash in the first practice session.  Senna himself being one the ones that rushed to the medical center, making it there before even Barrichello's team principal Eddie Jordan.

The next day the real tragedies began.  During Qualifying Roland Ratzenberger, a driver for the new Simtek team in only his Third F1 Grand Prix Weekend lost his front wing and crashed into the barrier after going down the streight just before Villeneuve Corner at nearly 200 Mph.  He died from his injuries becoming the first driver to killed in an F1 session since Riccardo Paletti at the 1892 Canadian Grand Prix.

Despite the whole event looking increasingly cursed the race weekend continued:

There more issues pretty much from the moment the lights went out.  First JJ Lehto from P5 stalled his Benetton on the grid and ended up getting rear ended by Pedro Lamy's Lotus.  Both driver's were fine but debris from the crash flew into the grandstands injuring 9 spectators.  This brought out the safety car for 5 laps.

Then on lap 7 at Tamburello, the unthinkable happens:

There is a bit of dispute about what exactly happened and I will discuss both but first I'll go over the details that are not under dispute.  Ayrton Senna driving for Williams qualified on pole, after the earlier incidents he continued round the track until lap 7 on the exit of Tamburello Corner where he crashed into the barrier.  A piece of the suspension assembly punctured his chassis and hit his helmet rendering him unconscious.  Marshalls rushed to the scene followed shortly by the medical car and it's doctor, the late Professor Sid Watkins but there was little they could do.  Senna was air lifted to hospital but pronounced dead several hours later.

At the time Tamburello was a very fast but pretty straight forward corner.  It's not the sort of place you would expect even an amateur driver, let alone a 3 time world champion considered one the most talented to ever it to make a mistake.  It had to be some other external factor(s), and this is where the contention comes in.  It was discovered that the steering column in the Williams had snapped.  In the official report it is claimed that this broke at the impact with the wall and the cause of the crash was the floor bouncing into kerb on the inside of the corner causing the car to launch forward uncontrollably into the wall.  However, others have always insisted the steering column broke before impact, was the root cause of the crash and Williams covered it up.  I'll let you judge for yourselves:

Even after this Imola 94 wasn't quite done being Imola 94.  The race restarted then ten laps before the end Michele Alboreto's Minardi lost a wheel in the pits which rolled down injuring 4 mechanics.  A fitting end to a fucking perfect day...

    RIP Roland Ratzenberger
    RIP Ayrton Senna

Well if you made it through all that thank you very much for reading.

Well i to stick to the topic, The beauty of football is that a much smaller team can beat a bigger team on a good day. No matter how much money you have in theory Man city can lose to a club like Leeds or newly promoted Fullham on any given day. It happens less and less these days but it still happens wherest in a sport like F1 If somebody has the best car in the field fat change they will be competing for victories on a regulair basis.
The thing is Football clubs and especially english clubs are becoming more and more a play thing for the extreme rich to dumb their money in. Offcourse there is nothing wrong with that aslong they are commited to the club they own but what if they start losing interest or things don't go the way they want and here lies the problem many owners want to see immidiate results and if that doesen't happen they back out and leave the club in debt.

Pretty much there own fault if you ask me and to be honest barca diden't deserve anything better. If you look at there piss poor transfer business from the last few years like For example coutinho his transfer from liverpool to barcelona is still the third most expensive transfer ever,  Griezmann transfer to barca is the 5th highest, coutinho they dumped out of the door for next to nothing same thing will happen to  Griezmann. Also while i'm taking a dumb at barcelona how can we forget Ousmane Dembélé 8th highest transfer fee paid, fat change he walks out for free if barca fails to agree on a new contract.

You think so? Don't really see anything wrong with skyrim it's gameplay well maybe the ps3/360 or switch version, may be dated but with the recent update for current gen consoles it looks and plays better then ever.

Its very obvius actually, in english the word Date stands for calendar day or Date as in Dating or going out with a person in a romantic as in relationships, like going to the movies, going out fot dinner, going to the beach etc.
The question that William Shatner was asking (the old fat dude in the picture) was, "Describe the perfect date" as in going out to dinner or movies etc , and what she would expect from her male companion, if he was a gentleman or if he was funny etc
But the girl misunderstood the question thinking he was asking about the weather of a calendar date...

To be fair, they have gotten better when it comes to their indie titles. And for the most part, they seem to let there indie crews do their own thing.
But their AAA titles are lacking these days and needs a fixing as soon as possible. Recent battlefield was a failure and I think fans are starting to drop out of that franchise because of the neglect.

Well neither of these controllers weigh even close to that much, maybe 200 - 300g.  More to the point the I have to agree with @Yaramaki, the PS3 Sixaxis controller felt flimsy and cheap.  The PS3 was originally going to launch with this monstrosity:

But this "Boomerang" design was unsurprisingly panned by journalists who got their hands on demo models.  In response Sony, no doubt pressed for time, just took their 10 year old DualShock design, hap-hazardly added motion controls because Wii and made out of plastic so thin it was transparent!

Sony did eventually improve on the design with the DualShock 4 then later DualSense but even a PlayStation fan I have to admit the Xbox controllers were better...  Unless your talking about the Duke 🤮:

I should start posting more into this section of the forum as there some interesting threads in here. Like i won't deny Messi and Ronaldo are arguably the best players of all time, well surely of their generarion. See this is a discussion that Is always up for debate but you can't compare football when pele or maradonna were around to current day football as like with any sport football has professionalised a lot during the course of 30 years.
What is controversial Fabio Cannavaro winning it in 2006 as the first defender? The fact Zidane only won it once, or even better Legends of the game like Jürgen Klinsmann, Raúl, Thierry Henry, Paolo Maldini and Gianluigi Buffon never won it once that is controversial imo.
For all i care imo if in 2022 Benzema doesen't win it, why not give it to Thibaut Courtois, sure i may be pro Belgium again but come on man imo he deserves it as much Benzema does.

So I've found something that puts into perspective on how drastic Xbox's first party studio growth has been.
The above image is the studio list in 2023 if the purchase of activision goes though. That would be 35-36 studios depending on if Blizzard acquires another studio called Proletariat.
The below image is the studio list in 2017. There's only 6 in that picture.
What are your thoughts on this?

So what are some games you enjoyed that are generally be seen as good by gamers but quite frankly have terrible or clunky gameplay. I'll start with the first two that came to my mind when i tought about creating a topic for it. Offcourse i should include Deadly premonition but i've already talked way too much about that game in previous topics i'll just mention it briefly.
Heavy Rain -> Great game, great story likeable characters but when i think back off it the controls are quite terrible and the gameplay is as boring as going to church on sunday. Bad example i know like who on earth still does that 😞
Mass Effect 1 -> the entire trilogy are classics imo but the first game hasn't aged very well, while everithing else about the game is still top notch the controls are just clunky and a pain to use by todays standards. Driving around the Moka is probably the biggest pain in the ass, well i'm sure you know what i mean if you played the original game. I think they finally fixed it with the trilogy.
Right surely i know more like alpha protocol and the first nier game just to name a few but i can't remember much about those games anymore so i'll leave some for the rest of you guys/gals as i'm kinda curious what you can come up with!

Most games aren't that popular via local stores. At times the store keepers feels that the game wouldn't push for sales and they might record loss, cos they'll hold it long time without much sales. They always rely upon the popular games, since those games got popularity, they can easily sell them off, and make profit. That's just a few points of mine.
You can search the game online, their are several options of online stores you can order from even in your locality and get it delivered to you within few days or even hours.

That's bullshit just as you mentioned it, I can't spend additional 500$ when the initial price is '$500. I don't plug money, I don't see that as a wise investment. Assumed they didn't put such condition it could've attracted many people coming to buy PS5 and Xbox series X from them. At this time, I just have to wait and see how it goes in the future, if the scarcity issue gonna end, so we don't face this kind of condition to get a brand new PS5 or Xbox series X.

There were a couple games that were beautiful graphically. But they are few and far between. The only game I was able to find that was actually fun to play with the motion control was Mario Kart. The wheel accessory that you could put your controller into made it easier, but it was so fun to steer with a wheel instead of using a D-pad to drive, or in the case of the N64, a joystick.
That may be true in most cases, but the old stuff still sells really well. There are a lot of us who prefer older games. I know I do. As for the price, the PS5 is definitely more expensive at the moment. Retail is $400 for the digital version, and $500 for the disc version. At least here it is. But you're going to be hard pressed to find one on the shelves. There's a place called Vintage Stock here that had both a PS5 and Xbox Series X on their shelves at the same time recently. But to buy one you had to buy both a brand new controller and 2 games. Which put the price close to $1,000. They wouldn't sell just the system. That's just bullshit if you ask me.

I won't quote the article ver batim (though I strongly recommend people read it fully rather than just what myself and others quote), but here's some interesting tidbits that stand out to me:
    Such as...?
So what is Web 3? Because right now "Metaverse" and "Crypto" are buzzwords used by people who want to impress investors, not actually move the World Wide Web forward like what came with Web 2.0. You can't just say "who doesn't understand Web 3" and then proceed to not explain what it is, which right now the Wikipedia page only confirms my suspicions.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but does this therefore mean there's only going to be 10,000 of these things sold? If so this leads me to the next bit,
How are you going to cover the costs if only 10,000 people are paying for these passes? Games consoles are sold at a loss: the games and accessories themselves make up for the losses. What "games built on different blockchains" are going to make up the cost of hardware that can run games at 8K HDR, 120 FPS, ray tracing whilst being accessed by a fingerprint scanner?
Regarding the logo they say this much:
OK, I guess...? You couldn't just change the logo anyway, just to be sure? Your brand isn't going to hit store shelves or wherever for another two years, you've got plenty of time to change it.
Four guys and a 3D Printer, essentially. That's a romcom waiting to happen.
...you didn't speak to developers before you decided to make your console?
Jesus wept on an 30p NFT.

It's fairly extraordinary, but not exactly unprecedented. The odd thing here is how long he has hung in for in spite of the writing being on the wall for him for at least the last year.
British Prime Ministers are frequently forced from office before the end of their term. Thatcher, Cameron and May all left under similar circumstances. Blair essentially retired part way through his last term.
And that's just in the last 30 years or so. In fact, leaving office in a general election is the exception rather than the norm.

Suprised nobody mentioned the traditional shooter or shmup yet games ala gradius, r-type, darius and salamander just to name a few. Easy enough to get into but damn tough as nails to master since for shmup purist t's usually the goal to beat the game on one credit. Then there is the bullet hell shooter games ala radiant silvergun, radirgy, deathsmiles, dodonpachi and it's numerous releases, sometimes when i play these games i don't have a clue what is going on sometimes lol.
I think for me personally it's going to be the real time and/or turn based strategy genre, i'm trying to get back into them but even games like civilization vi feel a little overwhelming for me, even when i finished the tutorial and started playing the game i already forgot half what i learned in said tutorial well maybe i shoulden't have taken a 2 week break from gaming. But i'm going to be stubborn and maybe go trough the tutorial again. Guess i'm more the management type of guy where i don't have to take battles in account and can just focus managing something.
If we are taking online play in account it has to be the one on one fighters, the problem here is when you jump into a certain fighting game of let's say mortal kombat 11 or even better a more niche game from arc system works. The community that is now left from that game are just people who play nothing besides fighters and are usually experts at it, so for somebody new it would be very hard to get into as you would get destroyed no matter what, well unless you put hours and hours into it to get good at the game.
on a final note since it's been mentioned in this thread, rockstar their games are designed that they can be beaten by anybody, if you fail a mission too many times you can just skip that part if you'd like and continue. It's just a lot of side activities like the sky diving in gta v that are a pain in the ass to complete. Also worth noting the frustrating controls at times like driving and shooting combined without crashing into something yeah not that easy. Shooting from a horse in rdr 2 is a lot easier then shooting from a car that goes over 100mph.
