Oblivion Knight

Are there, or have there been any games that you wished were released on a PlayStation console, but for whatever reason aren't available?
Just a few for me off the top of my head:
Fable (Xbox exclusive, published by Microsoft) Gears of War (Xbox exclusive, published by Microsoft) Lost Odyssey (Xbox exclusive, published by Microsoft) Alan Wake would have also been on this list, was it not for the recent remaster.. Nice one Remedy! 👏

Like you say, the movement of the character model looks a bit weird and unnatural.
Aesthetically at least, the game does feel very much inspired by Silent Hill. Hopefully it can receive that bit of extra development time it needs to take it from being quite an average survival horror game, to a great one.

It's somewhat embarrassing.. but I can't resist a good bargain! 😆

I know the X360 version of the HD remasters were pretty poor and never patched, but I believe the PS3 versions were marginally better..?
..and should anyone be interested in seeing just how bad they were, you're in for a treat.. 😜 Note that the PS3 versions did receive a patch after these videos were posted, but I'm unsure on exactly how much improvement there was.
 
 
 

Collectibles are definitely a bit of a chore when it comes to gaming.. It just feels like a really cheap way of extending the longevity of a game.
Multiplayer trophies/achievements are another.. Especially when you have to spend several hours grinding out progress toward completing a task.

Well, mostly having to collect a ton of items that gets you nothing. I can't stand collecting things that aren't really needed. Like in the Assassin Creed games, having to collect feathers and other items. It just gets really tedious to have to do that. And when they tie it into an achievement, I usually don't bother unless it's easy and I can traverse through the map really fast. Otherwise I just don't have the patience. 

I picked up mine from Amazon last year, unbranded and pretty cheap..

Funnily enough, such a glitch/skip came up in my recommended YouTube videos recently..
This is for Final Fantasy VII, and if you're at all familiar with the game it skips around 20 minutes of one of the most boring segments.

Looking at my started games list, I quite fancy playing through Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom (PS3).
It's a game I started back in 2017, so I'll probably have to start over since I don't remember too much about it. Luckily I don't think I got particularly far.
 
 

I never owned a Sega Saturn, and nor have I ever really played on one..
Back then I still relied on my parents for my gaming purchases, and we decided to go for a PlayStation instead. I regret nothing! 😝

I've said before in another thread precisely why I think consoles need to exist, and because exclusive games are the main reason to own a console, I'm am actually a little concerned about this. It's good thing for PC players to be able to play these games, but this a step in the direction to wold where people only play digital games on PC or through a stream and it don't want that to happen. So I'd say it's a nice gesture Sony, but don't go all in on it like Xbox are.

Seriously, over the past few years, I haven't been fully satisfied with my use of Chrome. Maybe it's time to switch to Edge. 

That would be awesome especially if we could offer the different forum currencies as prizes for the users. It's been somewhat hard to organise it properly with just one community so would love to see all 3 come together.

Are you setting yourself any personal goals or targets for gaming in 2022?
I know we're not quite there yet, but after a rotten 2020/21 I decided it was time to start looking forward. I've set myself a few goals to try and hit, all of which are on PlayStation platforms, and using TrueTrophies to guide me...
        65% Completion including Owned DLC (by 31/12/22)
        Starting at 56.68%, 396 trophies left with 434 days to go (an average of 0.9 per day).
        50 Platinum Trophies (by 31/12/22)
        Starting at 31, an increase of 19 over 433 days.
        Complete Final Fantasy VII (by 30/06/22)
        Starting at 12 trophies, an increase of 20 trophies over 249 days.
I'm not pushing the boat out with these by any stretch, but it's something to aim for and hopefully go some way to clearing a bit of my backlog.

@Darth and I have previously said about teaming up to organise some kind of community game for Among Us..
Perhaps we could get VGR involved also, @DC?

I used to be one of those gamers.. I remember camping out at my local indie shop for 2-3 days waiting for them to get their delivery of Final Fantasy VIII on the PSone. I was only a teenager at the time.. 🤣
Now I don't really feel the same affiliation for my favourite game series', and will happily wait for them to drop in price. Even then, I'm in no great rush to play them when I do eventually buy them.. Case in point, I still haven't played Final Fantasy XII yet - and have only briefly played XIII, none of the sequels.

Totally depends on my partner and their skill level.. I don't want to be carrying them through the game, but similarly I don't want to feel like I'm cheesing the difficulty by playing with someone who knows the game inside out. Unless I'm not overly keen on the game, then sign me up for extra cheese! 😆

I'm sadly not shocked to see these issues with the game, just EA being EA. The only thing in FIFA that's certain to work out of the box in are the in-app purchases. Still, it's cool to see the community coming together to help each other like PST.org have.

I've finished both Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed II, and unusually the sequel was far superior to the original.
I did start playing Assassin's Creed Brotherhood quite recently, but got a bit bored with it and haven't picked it up for a while. I should probably try to before I forget the progress I've made and feel compelled to start again.. 😅 It happens quite frequently, hence my backlog.
 
Metal Gear Solid is my favourite, personally.

I purchase from the PS Store all the time. Here in the UK the sale prices can be pretty damn good and are occasionally better than buying from brick and mortar shops. 

I watch a lot of gaming content on Youtube (reviews, critiques, game design talks), so sometimes I'll watch videos on a game I have on my backlog. This'll help me get a better idea of what to expect, maybe clue me into the historical or industry significance of the game, and generally hype me up for the experience, since watching gameplay naturally makes me want to try it out for myself.

I often lack motivation to play games from my backlog. Whenever I start playing something it is entirely on a whim, no thought goes into it, just that at that moment I found some motivation to start a certain game. It could be for a number of reasons, like a new mod was released that makes the game more appealing, or simply someone mentioned the game somewhere, or most of the time for no reason at all.
