  1. I'm not the biggest fan of zombie games, but it looks promising. As long as this isn't a spam post.
  2. Links Awakening
  3. I'm kinda pissed off at the weather right now. I was so hyped up to see the planets last night, and got up at 3:30 in the morning to be outside to see them. The entire area of the fucking state was covered by clouds, effectively blocking the entire sky. For someone who absolutely loves astronomy, that's a heart breaker. It's something that's never going to happen again in my lifetime.
  4. I’m almost exclusively a classic gamer, so yes.
  5. Agreed. Whoever is picked, I'm sure they will be a great fit.
  6. True. If it's blatantly obvious that it's pure spam, then no problem. But with others like @RoBnLoZ GaMinG they were given a temp ban, but have been allowed back and made some decent contributions to the forum, IMO. So that's where the leaving it to admin would come in to play.
  7. If you were to choose me, I would leave the suspensions and bans to you. I wouldn't consider that in the job title for me, that would be left to admin.
  8. I can offer my time. I've been a mod on several forums in the past, and an admin on a couple others. I never have been one on an Invision forum, but I'm sure I could learn how. I would probably make a quick test post or something to tinker with to learn how everything works here. But I'm not the most up to date on the current gen games and systems, and I know nothing about PC specs, so despite experience I may not be the best choice.
  9. Very true, the mechanics of any given game aren’t typically related to the view of the character. There are games that are amazing, and games that are pure shit in both first and third person. Also while they are few, there are games that were specifically thought up for the mechanics to be experienced through a first person perspective. But it’s still a matter of opinion as to what a person goes for. Until FF8 came out, I wouldn’t play anything that wasn’t pure fantasy. Part of what drew me in was “Fantasy” in the title. It opened my mind to other kinds of games. Granted on NES and SNES there were a couple games I was into that weren’t pure fantasy, but I could count them on one hand. My girl for example, hates first person, because of she can’t see anything other than what’s directly in front of her. She tried it with a dinosaur hunting game when she was a kid, and had nightmares about raptors getting her from behind due to the game. To this day, no matter how good a game looks to her, if it’s first person she passes. I pass also because with me, it’s in the same boat as online gaming. I simply don’t enjoy those games. I’ve given them several shots, and can only think of one that I enjoyed. Hexen. I respect your points, as you made several good ones. But I think we are going to have to agree to disagree on this one.
  10. Does anyone remember those Tiger games? Just nothing but an LCD that lit up at different parts. Those of us that couldn't afford a Game Boy were stuck with those $15 pieces of shit. From what I understand, they're fairly collectible now.
  11. You intentionally left out vital information, because you didn't want to seem like spam? That is called "bait and switch". You're trying to lure people in, and then change things up when they get there. You might as well show images of this game, but instead sell people Doom. Leaving out information that is needed comes across as a pyramid scheme to me. And the rate at which you jump your prices is flat out fucked up. That alone tells me that this game is nothing I could ever want a part of, no matter how "pretty" it seems. You're a scam artist, nothing more.
  12. Why should/would it be any different than say, basketball or hockey? The professionals get paid there, so shouldn't the professionals here get paid as well? I have no hope of ever becoming a professional athlete unless wheelchair sports suddenly go pro. So if I wanted to be professional at some kind of game, I would go for video gaming. But a lot of that is the wilder stuff that I'm just not capable of. Like speedruns, and nuttier things like beating Zelda without ever collecting a single rupee. It can be done, but you have to know how to pull off some serious glitches. There are people who beat the original Zelda without a sword. How I don't know, but they do it. Also you have to consider people who are agoraphobic. There's no way they could compete in any sport played on a field or arena. So gaming is their area of expertise.
  13. You and me both. Every time I come in here, some new asshole thinks it's a good idea to make one post promoting some shithole game and nothing else. The forum is flooded with these dicks. It's getting harder and harder to weed through the bullshit posts to find the ones that are actual discussions. Don't get me wrong, new members are a good thing and bring new viewpoints to the discussions. But this shit is getting fucking old.
  14. @ShaggerThat mod adds more realism than people will realize. If you've never either been a hunter or in the military, then typically you won't realize how a real firearm is handled. You don't walk around with it pointed straight out in front of you EVER. That WILL get someone killed. If you trip you will instinctively tighten your grip on whatever weapon you have in your hands, and even if it's on safe, nothing is fool proof. And if you're stupid enough to not have the weapon on safe until you get to your destination, then you have no business looking at it, let alone handling it. I sold a couple of my rifles a few years back, and predominantly only have handguns now. Aside from my revolver, none are fire ready. I keep the clips full, but never chamber a round unless I'm about to pull the trigger. More often than not, hunters do hold their rifle to the side like that. Others prefer to hold it resting on their shoulder. You have better control holding it to the side with both hands in my opinion, but you need to go with what's more natural and comfortable for you because you will have better control over where your weapon is aimed. But to get back to the game, that's a great mod @Crazycrab That's a bit of an unfair statement. The reverse of that has to fall under that as well. Why would any sane person avoid first person games because of the perspective? Some like the one, but not the other. I see it a lot like VR games where a headset is required. That's first person, but many of us have no interest in it. When it's all based on opinion, you can't call one preference insane without the other one eventually being called insane as well. Like I said, I'm not the biggest fan of first person perspective. But I have played a couple semi-enjoyable games. However I have no intention of getting any on purpose, such as Fallout or Doom.
  15. I’m just wondering, what specifically is the allure of FP games? I have a couple, and I gotta say, I’m not a fan of the angle. I don’t know if it’s a difficulty thing, but I would much rather play in 3rd person. Maybe part of it is being a classic gamer where most games are either a side scroller or a top down view. With the exception of most N64 games. But for me, 3rd person just isn’t all that enjoyable. Personal preference I guess? Anyway, I really do want to know what the draw is for you?
  16. I used to use an iPad for gaming. Until it pissed me off and I broke it with a whiskey bottle. That was the first iPad, and I haven't had one since.
  17. Gaming is the only thing that keeps my head on straight. I need it to escape the real world. If I didn't have some sort of escape that completely took me out of this world, the results would not be pretty. I have to keep my hands, ears, and eyes occupied at all times, or I start getting tense and extremely antsy. I lash out, and people have gotten hurt in the past. I can't sit and watch a movie or TV unless my hands are occupied as well. It doesn't necessarily have to be a game if I'm trying to watch something, but something has to keep my hands occupied.
  18. I don't have a problem with people buying/selling/trading here. But when that's their first post, it pisses me off. I don't care what they're peddling. They just want revenue and don't give 2 shits about contributing to a forum. If this was someone that we all knew like @skyfire or @DylanC or @killamch89 or someone, then I would be all over it asking for items. But some dickhead making only that one post is bullshit.
  19. I'll help you out. Click on the thing in the upper right hand corner where you see your name, and a little drop down menu will appear. At the bottom of that it says Sign Out. Click it. @DC Can you at least remove the link from this asshole?
  20. I remember when FF8 came out on PS1, guides were flying off the shelves faster than stores could get them in. And it was all due to Caraway's mansion on disc one. When Quistis, Selphie, and Zell comeback so Quistis can apologize to Rinoa they get locked in that room. At the time, NO ONE could figure out how the hell they were supposed to get out. There's a supposed "clue" that is so insignificant that no one would put 2 and 2 together. It was one of 10 pictures hanging on the god damn wall. Yeah. That helps. Thanks a lot assholes. And for those of us that weren't fast enough to get a guide (which was about $50 at the time BTW) we had to find someone that had one and ask them what the hell we were supposed to do. Fuck Doomtrain, The Deep Sea Research Center, or figuring out what the hell is up with that damn spaceship stealing the Moai. We just wanted to advance the god damn story. That part was one of the reasons FF8 was the most hated Final Fantasy game until FF13 came out. But I still play it like a fiend, and know (I would guess) around 90%-95% of the game. I can answer almost any question someone has about it.
  21. I have an Instagram that I haven't touched in forever, and a throwaway FB account. The only reason for that one, is that so many things are on FB and you have to have an account to view other accounts. I play with the images every so often so that the FB system thinks I'm using it. Other than that, my social media goes no further than a couple forums and YouTube.
  22. I’m a classic gamer and rarely go any further than N64. I’m typically in my NES or SNES, and I play the real thing. None of that pathetic worthless flashback bullshit. I also play my Atari and Sega a hell of a lot as well. So I will be very interested in checking out your channel. I may even recommend a few games for you to check out.
  23. Another thing of beauty:
  24. I don’t share anything at all for 2 reasons. 1) I despise online gaming. 2) I’m a classic gamer, and old cartridge systems don’t exactly go online.
