$30 on Steam, probably the same for consoles as well. Not a bad price point, since I thought it would have been a full price $60-$70 game. Thank goodness it's not, because I don't see it being worth that much. $30 is not bad and works imo. I kinda hope they add modding abilities to this game. I bet people could do some crazy stuff in it.

  5. That's good news, at least the speculation about it's released date is now settled. Let's now expect to see the game up and running by November, 9th. I know you @Heatman is ecstatic about the announcement of the game.

Yeah that's fair, I just was trying to think and was curious as too what other people opinions were. For me it's Double Fine, I've played quite a few games of theirs and every one I've enjoyed. Stuff like Psychonauts, Brutal Legend, Grim Fandango, Full Throttle, Day Of The Tectacle, and Psychonauts 2 have fantastic stories and characters. And while most of those games have so-so gameplay they're just so well thought out. My close second would be ID software. Doom is a personal favorite series of mine and even Quake was quite fun. They just do well with FPS games in general.

I'll say Obsidian Entertainment have made my favourite games, but I make the distinction between favourite studio and makers of favourite games because what qualifies to be my favourite studio on its own merits? The people? How they're treated? Their creative process? Their ability to actualise it? Their commitment to their ideals? There's so much smoke-and-mirrors in the games industry that it's difficult to say why they're my favourite studio beyond them making my favourite games. I choose Obsidian not only because of the games they make, but because they're the first to admit to their faults. Whenever Fallout: New Vegas is criticised for being buggy, fanbois (myself included once-upon-a-time) will point to Bethesda and the deadline and the engine and the Metacritic score. Obsidian do not say this themselves. CEO Feargus Urquhart says his studio the common element to all their games being janky, but also it's something they want to work on. A dev eating humble pie in this industry is a rare sight and it's usually only after overwhelming public disgrace. I'd say Insomniac through nearly all of its lifespan is my favourite studio based on the above criteria because of how they've had constant hits with their ideas, even if they had the miss of FUSE (which would've been Overstrike had it not been focus grouped to death), and keeping their independence up until they knew it was time to be safely acquired. It's considered one of the best places to work in America, according to the Society for Human Resource Management. Can't say I hear that every day. I would like the starters of these threads to kick things off by giving their own examples to promote discussion. That goes for all, so I'm not just picking on you, Techno.

  9. I was just about to mention Burnout. I was never crazy about Burnout Paradise. But I loved 3 and I still play Burnout Legends on my PSP. I've never been huge into sim racing, but I will try to cause four car pile ups on the way to the finish line all. day. long.

  10. The OP is refering to a specific model of the PSone called the PSone Combo. It was a small version of the PSone with a built in screen that flipped up like a laptop. Since nobody has bothered to post an image of one, I suppose I'll do so now.

  12. Personally, I would die before I abandoned my babies. They're just as much family as a human could be. In some cases more so than that. I cut my biological human links out for reasons I'm not going to get into at the moment. But I would never leave my Lady behind. She is my heart and soul.

  13. Skyrim and Witcher 3. Being fantasy games, they should be right up my alley, as that's my absolute favorite genre. But they just don't draw me in or capture my interest. Also the controls for Skyrim are so wonky, that I just can't stand it.

  14. It's perfectly fine, and welcome to hear someone say they are interested in seeing my playthroughs. As soon as I get things back in order in my personal life, and have the time to record, I'll be uploading again. @Rain Dew will be as well. Her main interest right now it FFXIV, and it's got her time. So she will most likely be doing that one for a long time. She may do a few live streams, but I doubt it.

  15. My pick is twisted metal. Does anybody remember that movie that came out some time ago Death race? Specifically the remake with Jason Statham, I was very young back then and I was under the impresion that the movie was based of twisted metal, I didnt knew anything about the original movie. But with that in mind it will be cool if we get a twisted metal game with the premise of the movie, a post apocalyptic world , a prision based tourment, and power ups on the track like on Mario Kart but of course with all the gore and destruccion of twisted metal

  16. I've said it elsewhere on the forum, but I would love to see some of the older Burnout games come back, especially Burnout 3. I doubt EA will do it because they want the world to believe the bullshit that Started with Burnout Paradise is what these types of games are supposed to be like.

Who's ready for this game? It's dropping July 19th and I'm kinda psyched to check it out. From what I've seen of the game so far, it looks kinda like a mix of horror and action. I was thinking of pre-ordering it, but I think I'll wait until it drops to see the reviews first, just in case. Especially if this is a full price game.

  18. Even if you were right, there is absolutely no need for that insulting "Go get educated" type of response. It's rude and it's unnecessary. The fact you have offered the "advice" to "watch a documentary in Africa" to someone who actually lives there, well that only make you like a fool. Yes, there are still large area's of Africa that are very poor with people who have other far less arbitrary things to worry about than video games, but it's also a continent in a development boom. May I suggest it's you that needs the education.

  19. I know that pointed @Heatman that with Africa's gaming install base in gaming being around since the year 2000 that there should be more of an industry in Africa by, but trust 20 or so years in a lot of time at all for such an industry to take hold. Just because people have been playing games for that long in Africa, doesn't mean the opportunities and very indigenous education that's necessary to be able to work in such a complex, fast evolving and not to mention competitive industry are really there yet. The unfortunate truth is America, Japan and Europe are still years ahead. The next part is something I feel the need to apologize in advance for a it is not pleasant, so sorry to anyone that this upsets. @Reality vs Adventure, again I'm sorry to say this, but Africa having such a young population doesn't actually speak that much of it's market potential video games, there are other, bigger things. The infant mortality rate and the birth rate in Africa is very high, quite a lot higher than in North America or Europe, with an average age of death that's also a lot younger. The amount of young adults that live in Africa now is a sign of much things have changed for the better as even 20-30 years ago a lot more of those people would not have lived into there 20's, but it didn't stop people have more children then other regions 20 years ago because of the high infant mortality. Like it or not, that is why Africa has such a comparatively young population.

  20. Interesting fact is that the African continent has the highest population in the world of people that are under 25, which makes it the youngest continent with 60% of the population under 25. Think about that in terms of a gaming market. The Pan African Gaming Group has brought together 10 gaming studios from different African countries under one group in order to strengthen the market. https://venturebeat.com/2022/02/23/pan-africa-gaming-group-aims-to-bring-a-billion-new-players-to-gaming/
