Digital is the future, but I'm apprehensive about it. If the system gets fucked up or something, you could lose all the games you bought. You have a fried console, and all those games are gone. Now you have to buy them all over again. It's just not something I'm the biggest fan of. Granted I have a lot of DDL's on my Switch, but if I could have gotten a physical copy of some of them I would have.

Favorite and Least Favorite Board Game
The Blackangel replied to The Blackangel's topic in Gaming Forum
I remember Hero Quest. That game was awesome. It's similar to Dragon Strike. One of the coolest things about Dragon Strike was that it came with a really cool video. -
I stand corrected. I was thinking that the controllers sliding off the console was "drifting". However, so far I haven't had to face a drifting issue with my Lite. So here's hoping that I don't end up having to face it, until a time comes when I lose all interest in my Lite and quit using it all together.

It would be interesting to hook my NES up to wifi and play some games with someone on another continent. I'd still be playing the game and keeping the nostalgia, but also doing it online. It's an intriguing concept. But being that I hate online gaming, it would most likely never happen for me.

Have you ever tried your hand at making your own mobile game?
The Blackangel replied to Kane99's topic in Mobile
I was part of a crew that was making games in our spare time, but since the pandemic hit, we're on hiatus. I wasn't a developer, I was called a "thinker". I have a really creative imagination, and can come up with really good ideas for a base. We would tinker with it, add in things, take out things, and when we had the game we wanted, the writing and developing crew would take over. I can come up with ideas, but I'm useless beyond that point. Hell, I still don't even know how to use Photoshop. -
The Lite doesn't have that problem, because it's all one solid piece. It doesn't have removable joycons like the regular Switch. But I have used both, and that drift drove me nuts. Trying to play a game, and the controls keep running away from you is infuriating. Even though it's smaller, I still say the Lite is the superior option. All games are interchangeable between both versions of the Switch, because they're the exact same machine. The only downside to the Lite is no docking ability and it doesn't support a vibration function. Other than that, go for the Lite if you're considering buying one.

What do you miss most about older games?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Video Games
Low quality, no. Low graphics, yes. You can't really compare the 8bit SMB to RDR2 or Skyrim graphics. They're so far apart in depth and realism, that it's inappropriate IMO to try to compare them. That's just a personal opinion. In all honesty, with a few exceptions, I prefer the 8bit over everything else. I'm a classic girl, and I stick with it. Atari, NES, SNES, N64, are the greatest systems ever made. Sega wasn't bad, but it just doesn't match the others, again, IMO. -
I just passed 3000 posts!
-
If you get Nintendo Online, you can play a lot of NES and SNES games on Switch already. And if you go month to month payment, it's only $4. The nostalgia isn't there, but if you suddenly need to play TMNT 2 while you're out somewhere, then you can until you get home and play the real thing.

Favorite and Least Favorite Board Game
The Blackangel replied to The Blackangel's topic in Gaming Forum
I wanted to eliminate Monopoly as an option because everyone either loves it or hates it. It's too obvious a choice, and would dull the conversation. So for that reason, Monopoly is void. I've never heard of either of those games. I've heard of Chutes & Ladders, but not Snakes & Ladders. Unless you're making fun of it by tweaking the name. -
I checked it out after I saw this post. I know they’re advertising it as a PC/console, but by the design alone, I just don’t get how it’s expected to work as both. If they were marketing it as a streaming device instead, then I could see it having possibility. I could be missing something vital here, but to be honest, I really don’t care. I don’t have any intentions of having it as I have no need for it. From what I have read so far, it offers nothing that I would have interest in or use for.
-
That’s not even all my games. I didn’t list PS2, 360, Game Cube, Wii, DS/3DS, or Game Gear. There’s a few other systems here that I don’t really play much anymore, but I can’t think of what they are at the moment. Anyway, from what I listed above, I have more Mario Kart games than anything else, so that would probably seem to be the obvious answer. But in all honesty, I kinda like F-Zero a lot. Pole Position is a lot of fun too. Grand Prix and Indy 500 have always been a great time.

When I get to gaming i play games like SMB, The Legend Of Zelda, Astyanax, Contra, A Boy And His Blob, Castlevania 1/2/3, Q*Bert, Legend Of The Mystical Ninja, Mario World, 1080 Snowboarding, Mario 64, mario Kart 64, Zelda OoT, the list goes on and on and on. And that's just games from only 3 systems. Granted they're my favorite 3, but still. I play a lot of games on my switch, but 90% of them have 16bit graphics or lower. I guess I just can't get past what I truly love no matter what I'm offered.
-
Yes they work. I take special care of them. But still, the NES is a 35 year old system, so it's obviously going to be moody as hell and can take a little prodding to get going. The Atari is even older as it was released in 1977 which makes it 43 years old. Yet mine all work just fine. The classics are almost the only thing I play. As you can see, I have some current gen games, but I rarely go past the N64 when I'm choosing something to play. Unless I'm wanting something wildly different with more realistic graphics. I've said a million times that I absolutely LOVE RDR2. That's not exactly 35 years old. One thing I love about Mario Odyssey, is that it incorporates parts where you play it as the original SMB setup and graphics. I was elated to see that.
-
Atari already released an Atari flashback several years ago when the flashback craze hit. So I seriously don't get the logic behind this one. I think it's just some bored developers trying to toy around with money they don't actually have.
-
It's going to flop hard. No one is going to want it. It's no different than a flashback system. Why the hell would anyone want it? It offers nothing except a new dent in your bank account. Until now I had never even heard of it. I had no knowledge of this taking place. And I bet a huge number of people, majority most likely, haven't heard about it either.
-
Depending on the distance, I take a coach once in a while in RDR2. But that's usually if I'm wanting to go a huge way like from St. Denis to Strawberry or something. Otherwise I like to ride the countryside. But I also have the white Arabian, so I have the best horse in the game. She's completely brain dead, but otherwise amazing. Some of the horses in this game are so damn dumb that at times it almost makes you want to try to tame an frickin' alligator to ride instead.

FF8. I have it running right now on my Switch, just to farm items like ribbons and friendships. I'm still hoping to get a mogs amulet one of these days, as that's the only item I have never gotten in the game. Until the remaster was released I had never gotten a friendship or ribbon. I was going nuts trying to figure out what a ribbon did, because nowhere online or in any guide that I could find did it say what they did. It was always just "GF Learns Ribbon Ability". Yeah that tells me a lot. I even went so far as to buy a couple Pocket Stations so that I could get them, because as far as the discs on the PS1 go, that's literally the only way to get them. It took forever to get the things since they were only released in Japan. But about 6 months later the remaster hit the market, and everything was obtainable now. YOU DIRTY BAST.....ions of bureaucracy.😁 🖕

Considering that I have several hundred games, I take forever to pick. First off I have to pick which system I want to play, which in itself is an ordeal. Then I have to go over my list, which is an even harder choice. What genre do I want to play? I have no idea half the time, and I'm so indecisive that sometimes I just go watch TV or read a book. But that there is a problem due to my indecisiveness. I've posted my library several times, but here it is again, just to show how hard it is for me to make a choice. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ NES - - - 8 Eyes A Boy And His Blob Abadox Astynax Bad Dudes Batman Battletoads Blaster Master Bubble Bobble Castlequest Castlevania 1,2,3 Clash At Demonhead Contra Contra Super C Deadly Towers Demon Sword Dig Dug 2 Donkey Kong Classics Double Dragon 1,2,3 Dr Mario Dragon Warrior Ducktales 2 Excitebike Faxanadu Festers Quest Final Fantasy Flying Dragon: The Secret Scroll Friday The 13th Gauntlet 1,2 Gyromite Hydlide Iron Sword Junior Edition Jeopardy Karate Champ Kid Icarus Kings Knight Kirbys Adventure Kung Fu Legacy Of The Wizard Legend Of Zelda, The(gold) Little Mermaid, The Marble Madness Mario Bros Mega Man 2,3,4,6 Metroid Milon's Secret Castle Ninja Gaiden Punch Out Q*Bert Rescue Rangers Rocketeer, The Rygar Shadowgate Solstice Spy Hunter Street Fighter 2010 Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt, SMB2,SMB3 T&C Surf Designs Taboo The Sixth Sense Tiger-Heli Time Lord TMNT 1,2,3 TMNT Tournament Fighters Who Framed Roger Rabbit Willow Wizards & Warriors Yo! It looks weird as hell, but at the same time, fun as hell. I'll definitely be getting this one.

NOTE: Monopoly is not an option for this question. What is you number one board game on both ends of the spectrum? My absolute favorite board game if all time is Dragon Strike. I love running it as Teraptus. But if I’m not running it, then I have to play a thief. But the game I stay as far away from as I can get, is Risk. I’m not a good sport with that one. I don’t know why, but that game brings out the absolute worst in me as far as games are. So for that reason alone, I refuse to play it.
-
If you played any if these 3 which was your game? I was a MTG player. I played every Friday night, and in my first local tournament I won sportsmanship. I got my ass slaughtered quick as hell, and thought it was hilarious. I haven’t played in almost 20 years, but I still have the FNM hologram card I won that night. I was best with a blue/white deck. I played through all 5 elements and several mixed decks before I found my niche. So what was/is your game?

Isn't GoW a PS exclusive? Does anyone have any info as to whether PS is going to release one for the PS5?
