  1. Classic gamers won’t drop the old systems. The nostalgia of putting a cartridge into an actual Nintendo is half of the enjoyment for us. That’s why emulators usually don’t do a damn thing for any of us.
  2. Can the reverse fit into this conversation? I was a pro-am snowboarder when I was younger. I’ve always hated sports games but I love snowboarding games. I played basketball all the time as a kid, but that doesn’t mean I want anything to do with NBA 2K19.
  3. Contra has to be mentioned. The 2 player co-op mode is amazing. One that I personally hate, but was massively successful is Donkey Kong Country. The co-op mode on that one is a great example of an excellently designed co-op.
  4. Until a new God Of War comes out, or a sequel to Dante’s Inferno, I actually have no interest in either.
  5. Canned peaches, chips, tomatoes, carrots, and skub. Drink is either Fiji water or Diet Pepsi/Diet Faygo.
  6. @DC I would take some friends who have become family to a car lot to get them a reliable car since theirs is about to completely crap out on them.
  7. For me, the biggest 2 that I can think of are Zelda: Majoras Mask and [I[Zelda: Links Awakening[/I]. They both begin incredibly boring with no real direction laid out, and are just slow as hell. But once you spend an hour or 2 playing around and get a feel for the game and make a little bit of progress, they become really fun and actually quite addictive. The first disc of FF8 is slow as hell, but I can't say it turns me off from the game the way the other 2 do.
  8. If you could choose one game to have never been invented, what would it be and why?
  9. Would I be correct in assuming this riddle is too difficult?
  10. The only thing I can think of that hasn’t already been suggested is to get an AC unit. Window units are the cheaper model but if for whatever reason that’s not an option you can get AC units that you can just plug in and stick wherever you want. I personally haven’t seen any that weren’t in the $400-$500 range. Another idea is to take 4 box fans and put them either on each wall or in each corner blowing into each other all in the same direction. It keeps the air circulating and cools a room off more than most people will realize. If you have a ceiling fan in there as well, that will only help.
  11. I play this song several times a day, and never get sick of it.
  12. If I have any interest in new generation consoles, I always wait at least a year to buy one. The price will have gone down after that, bugs will have been fixed, and there will be more games available. It’s a win/win to me.
  13. Well my night was ruined. St Louis fucking slaughtered Boston.🤬 I’ve always hated the Blues, despite the fact that I’m from Missouri. And they beat Boston 4-1. I don’t have any strong feelings towards the Bruins one way or another, I just didn’t want St Louis to win. My team always has been and always will be the Detroit Red Wings. Win or lose I will NEVER abandon them. Naturally I’m bummed when we lose, but I don’t turn on my team. Our last cup was ‘08, so we’re due for another one.
  14. I'm talking about the NHL. The Stanley Cup final game is tonight.
  15. I don't know if this is just a pure bullshit rumor I've been hearing, or if there's any truth to it. But I've been hearing lately that there are some Xbox games that can be played on a PC. Supposedly since they're both made by Microsoft, the systems are capable of reading them just the same. I've never heard of a game being able to be swapped between a console and PC like that, but I wanted to get it straight from the horses mouth, so to speak, and find out what's up with that. I'm on the side of calling bullshit, but if it's true that I can pop an Xbox disc into my PC and play the game, then that would be something that would blow my mind.
  16. Wow. That's insane. It reminds me of that South Park episode where Stan was buying Canadough constantly in that dumbass Terrence and Phillip game.
  17. If it's only available on Xbox and not PC, then I'm screwed. I can't stand the Xbox system.
  18. Wasn't the original inspiration for GTA supposedly drawn from the 1993 riots in LA after the Rodney King trial?
  19. I have the FF7 movie, and remember the Sonic cartoon well. But I also remember the Mario Bros cartoon and the Zelda cartoon. We also have a crossover from the other side as well. I have played maybe 1 Simpsons game that I actually liked. Beavis & Butthead on SNES is ok if you feel like playing something that is completely nuts while you're stoned. The Rocketeer and Wizard Of Oz have made their appearances on video games, both of which I have. Neither of which are worth the plastic they're made of. I think they should just leave shit in the realm it was created in.
  20. The last Sim game I played was on a Windows98 system. It was Sim Farm. I haven't played a Sim game since then.
  21. That depends. Are we talking next gen consoles strictly, or are we talking any console from any generation? If it's next gen, then it depends on all its capabilities. Is it reverse compatible? How far? Is it DVD/Blu-ray/4K DVD? What are the specs? Will a rerelease have more capabilities (think Xbox One X)? Are there any add-ons that I would have to buy? Previous generations, it depends on what comes with it. How many games, controllers, cables, memory, etc. If it's a cartridge system, say SNES, is it the first series or second series? Is it complete in box, or just a loose console? It really varies on SO much.
  22. @StaceyPowers You knew this was coming. It's almost like you baited me.😉 Final Fantasy 8. It has great quests and side quests, also if you want to stop at pretty much any random point and power up your characters, you can do that as well. Right now for example I'm at the end of disc 2 getting ready to go into Galbadia Garden. but I stopped to play Triple Triad to get some cards so I could mod them into items I needed so I could improve everyone's weapons. I'm also just running back and forth on the Hasberry Plains beach killing Fastitocalon-F's and Adamantoise's to collect AP to learn a few abilities. I have the first 9 GF's, and I'm going to be collecting 2 more when I get to Galbadia Garden. I play and replay this game hundreds of times a year. I can't say definitely for sure, but I think this is most likely my absolute favorite game ever. There's only one reason I can't give 100% yes on that: Zelda. If it wasn't for Zelda, then I could say that FF8 is my absolute favorite game.
  23. This both frightens and upsets me. Is there not one game that is sacred? Can we have one game that isn't turned into some shitty fucking movie or, god forbid, an even shittier cartoon?
  24. Yeah but there is no nostalgia in the flashback systems. they have their preloaded games, but nostalgia is owning the original actual item as it was when it originally hit the market. Take classic gamers. We would rather spend an hour fighting the original NES trying to get Mario to work, than hook up an NES Classic and get it to run the very first time. That's nostalgia.
