If you could have the skull of one animal, what would you pick and why?

Typically I just play my Gameboy when I'm in bed. For the most part I'm playing one of the Zelda games. I'll beat a couple dungeons, then shut it off. Nothing big. If I'm going somewhere that I know I'm going to be waiting for a long time, I'll take it with me. But that's rare.

I'm staying home. I live in a town of 109k permanent residents, and when school (college) is in add another 80k people living here. Also the only mall in a 120 mile radius is here in town. So people are coming from all over to go shopping, and the lines are outside waiting to get in usually start by 5AM and the mall doesn't even open until 11AM. There are countless wrecks every year, and people are insane out shopping. Grabbing shit, knocking each other over. Picture the Tickle-Me-Elmo and Furby craze, just a little less violent. I know that someone would piss me off at some point, and I would end up pulling a gun. So for self preservation alone, I stay home. It's not like the things people are grabbing will never come again. Also there's other specialty stores in town, that are virtually the only place in the state that you can find whatever item it is that you're after. So I'm gonna stock up on munchies a few days before, watch the carnage, and laugh my ass off.

There is honestly no one that I can think of, unless people who have died are an option. If that’s the case, then I would love to see my grandma again. She was the kindest and sweetest woman who ever lived. I miss her so much.

One year anniversary as a member of the forum today!

Has anyone else done this? I bought Festers Quest (NES) a few years ago, and never had any real intention of playing it. The reason I bought it was because I remember seeing the commercials for it when I was a kid, and I remember desperately wanting it. Now that I'm an adult, I was finally able to get it. I've seen the gameplay, and know the mechanics of the game are pure shit. So if I was to play it, for me it would require a Game Genie. So it may have been a bit of nostalgia that led me to buy it. I'm not sure. But I was just curious if anyone else has ever done this.

They have done tons of games. I'm pretty sure they've done every Final Fantasy game.

I personally hated FF XIII. It was just too dull. To me it was a cheesy spin off of Star Wars. I'm not into FF XIV either, but that's because I hate online gaming. I will say that FF XV has absolutely gorgeous graphics, and gripped me immediately. Now if I could only find the goddamn disc... But hands down, my all time favorite will always be FF VIII. FF VII is the most successful FF game ever released to date. Most FF players, whether they personally liked it or not, will tell you it's the best one ever. I personally didn't like it at all, but I'm in a very small minority there.

Delightful Surprises You Didn’t Expect in Video Games
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Video Games
One kinda cheesy and minor thing that was a nice surprise for me came when I was a kid. I had bought a used copy of Zelda A Link To The Past. There was a partially played game on there. I didn't know much about the game, so I erased all the games on it to learn on my own. I remember getting annoyed as hell because I kept running out of bombs and arrows all the damn time. Also I never could figure out what the exact purpose for the Pond Of Happiness was. I would stop by to grab a faery every once in a while and sometimes I would throw a bit on money in as a goof. When I hit 100 rupees for the first time I found out that the queen of the faeries would increase your carrying capacity of arrows from 30 to 70 and bombs from 10 to 50. Needless to say, as soon as I get the flippers, I max out my money and head straight to the pond now. -
Ghouls 'N Ghosts has unrealistic difficulty. You take one hit and you're dead. If you're lucky enough to make it 10 seconds in wearing armor, then it's 2 hits and then you're dead. And there are no continues either. You die and it's game over. As the AVGN said: "It's games like this that the Game Genie was made for."

What makes for good or bad AI in video games?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Bad AI would be when, no matter how many times you play the game, a boss follows the exact same pattern every time. I have a game here (can't remember which one) that I can literally fight and defeat the boss with my eyes closed. Because it doesn't deviate from the same scripted movements. Good AI makes enemies completely unpredictable. If the only thing you can predict about it is its physical appearance, then you have good AI. -
I would have to say Disturbed. They hit on actual issues with their music, and everything has an actual meaning behind it. They have released 8 albums and every song has held a meaning behind it and/or told a story. Whereas most metal bands are releasing only hard hitting screaming Disturbed does so much more. Their music is not only innovative, but inspiring as well. It has inspired me to be a better singer. Here are some videos to give you an idea what I'm talking about.

How hard do you work to avoid video game spoilers?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Considering the fact that I play classic systems almost exclusively, there's not really a lot left that could have any kind of spoilers. I have a couple games that are, for all intents and purposes, completely unknown. And no, they're not ROM-hacks. For example how many people here know about the NES game Taboo The Sixth Sense? I bet there's very few people here that know much about Astynax, Clash At Demonhead, or Legacy Of The Wizard either. And that's only one system. So unless it's a game (NES mainly) that I have never heard of, (highly unlikely) then there's not much out there that could be any kind of spoiler. -
Either way, the best you can get is an HP. Unless you’re going specifically for a gaming laptop. Anything else and HP is the best you can get. Also stay as far away from anything Dell as you can get. Dell is the most pathetic excuse for any form of computer in existence. They never work, and only cost you money that you’re never going to see again. I was constantly having to fix the damn things at the technical school when I was in HS before I dropped out. I kept telling them to get HP systems, but the district had some kind of contracts with Dell. But I heard that after the contracts expired they threw the worthless things in the trash and signed on with a worthwhile brand.

I mentioned this in the TV show video game thread before I saw this one. I have Monopoly on PS1. I was going through a phase where all I wanted to do was play Monopoly a few years ago, but had no one to play with. So I bought the disc.

I have Jeopardy on NES, and it’s extremely easy. I don’t remember how I actually ended up with it. It had to be part of a bundle I picked up at some point. That’s the only thing I can think of. The only other game I have in this realm is Monopoly on PS1. But that one I did buy myself. I was going through a Monopoly phase and had no one to play with. So I had to get it on a console.

Trust me, you will not regret it. Q*Bert is a masterpiece of a game.
