  1. It's kind of a shame that English has become the defacto language in the western world. When the truth is it's a freak mutant of various other european languages and there are tons of complications with it that make it very difficult for even native speakers to understand at times. Pointless silent letters, pointless double letters, cumbersome lack of gender neutral pronouns and theirs even different spellings depending on where you are. We'd have been better off sticking to Latin.
  2. You mean you consider FUT coins used to buy card packs with < 1% of getting the best cards, of witch even they become completely pointless after a year when the next game rolls something "useful"?. I VERY strongly disagree. No in game items, pay to win or not, has any use or value in the real world. Especially in yearly roll out titles like FIFA.
  3. I'd argue that FIFA is worse, at least PES' bullshit doesn't have a $60 - $70 buy in in order to pay more money for useless in game crap.
  4. If you ask me your better of getting it from GOG, same price but DRM free. https://www.gog.com/game/the_witcher_3_wild_hunt
  5. @Head_Hunter Do you need to make every topic about FIFA? Can we get this one back on topic please. I remember that I absolutely loved the first game, it was revolutionary in the Hack and Slash genre. Then Devil May Cry 2 came out and it was utter tripe, put me off the series for years.
  6. I've got to ask what was the big deal with 15? As far I could tell they barely changed anything from the previous years and aside from the move to Frostbite in FIFA 17 they've barely changed anything since.
  7. If you want to know what FIFA 22 is going to be like, just go to a local game store and pick up any copy of FIFA from the bargain bin that's under 20 years old.
  8. It's on PC, PS4 and XBox One. It is backwards compatible on PS5 and XBox Series X/S hardware with native next gen versions coming down the line.
  9. If a game has realistic lighting then you wouldn't really notice it, you would just sucked into the world. You would notice more if something was wrong, like a shadow pointing in the wrong direction or god rays coming out the ground. Still I think I'd cast my vote for Outlast, I think it's survival horror games like that where immersive lighting matters the most.
  10. I barely play online anymore, partly because there's there's so many toxic idiots online and I just don't wanna deal with them. I'm glad to see a service that hopes to alleviate that problem.
  11. I know you didn't quote me but I thought since I'd just made my previous post that you were referring to it. If that's not the case then I apologize for my poor assumptions and choice of the words.
  12. Ok, did you read what I posted? When I said "casino" games, I'm not talking about literal card games or slots. I mean these sport franchises because today their nothing more that machines for publisher's to print money in their loot box card pack modes which are pretty much unregulated gambling. If you're going to quote somone you need to pay attention to what their saying instead of just posting sporadically to everything you follow.
  13. Can you explain why? As as I can tell all they "added" (I use that term very loosely) was some new animations, AI tweeks and a couple extra features to casino mode because that's all they give a crap about. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vg247.com/amp/fifa-15-ten-game-changing-features
  14. I actually did play Enchanted Arms... and I thought it was pretty terrible. The battle system was kinda interesting by GOD even by JRPG standards the characters were obnoxious as hell! It also has I think the worst tutorial I've ever experienced. It treats you like a fucking idiot, there were full paragraphs of spoken dialogue to explain even the simplest of things like opening a chest or climbing a ladder. I never realized it was developed by From Software. That's curious little anecdote but this was before the Souls Series. My own contribution now and I'll bet not many of you have played Prisoner of War, a PS2 game where you play a captured US in piolet in World War 2. I also reckon (or at least hope) that not many of have played this piece of crap, which I consider to THE worst I have ever played.
  15. There's plenty of games I hate, but the only I can say I truly detest are the s̶p̶o̶r̶t̶s̶ casino games like FIFA, Madden and NBA 2K. I look forward to the day that the governments call out PEGI and the ERSB for their utter and willing failure in allowing in game gambling to run rampant and finally force them to give the A for adults/18+ ratings they deserve.
  16. There are still some good individual games from EA but their "franchises" are tired by this point. Not that it matters, their FIFA and Madden casino games still make them a fortune even though their the same games they were 10 or 20 years ago. I honestly can't believe they still have fans that support their crap. Pretty much all they do is update the roster, but it's same game year after year. The worst thing is this has been going on for decades, I legit remember players back in the nineties complaining about it. The difference is that little Timmy now has the ability bankrupt his parents in its casino.
  17. The Vikings did engage in Slavery, but wasn't quite the same system that we think of other European countries doing centuries later. They gathered people up from raids and traded them throughout Europe and enslavement was also sometimes used as punishment for crimes. So it's true there were some black people living in Scandinavia at the time, but it's not a correct assumption that these people were slaves. It's possible that some were of course but it's not the same racial association that we have with the slave traders that operated in Europe and America centuries later.
  18. I'm not surprised by this. Fuckonami have obviously been watching what EA have been doing with FIFA and their ultimate team casino and just decided to make that the focus.
  19. I was actually referencing a specific game called Journey from That Game Company for the PS3 and PS4:
  20. I measure quality of a game based of how good the experience was, not just on how hard or how long it to me to complete. Take games like Journey or Flower for example. There's no real challenge and a typical play through is about an hour, but they still offer a great experience. Even if challenge and length were the only things that mattered I still don't understand why you think 12 hours is short for a linear game, it REALLY isn't. Outside of some JRPGS like Final Fantasy X I genuinely can't think of many games with a linear single player campaign that are much longer than that. There's a couple of Resident Evil's, Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted 4, The Last of Us Part II and the infamously awful Ride to Hell Retribution (proof the length is definitely NOT a staple of quality). I'm sure there's more than that but that's all I can of at the top of my head. How long do you expect these types of games to be in order to be acceptable? 15 hours?... 20 hours?... At the 30 hour mark there's some open world games that aren't that long! I really don't where your coming from here.
  21. There's no doubt in my mind that there is extraterrestrial life out there somewhere, it might even be within this very system on moons like Europa (Jupiter) or Enceladus (Saturn). The requirements for life to evolve like it did on earth are very specific, maybe even unique. There are some exoplanets that have been discovered that may have a temperature, atmosphere, liquid water and rotation compareble to Earth. It is specific but with the hundreds of billions of stars in our Milky Way alone it seems like a statistical impossibility that this is the only planet where life exists.
  22. I'm actually not surprised, when people sell old consoles and games it means that they no longer have any use for the controllers either. So they sell them as a bundle or even just give them away when the seller arrives at the door.
  23. My sympathies, it might only be a small condolence and were not always friends but we are always here for you. I'm no psychiatrist and I can't fully contemplate what your going through, but I think for the sake of your girl it might be a good idea to surrender your firearms to someone you trust for a while. You and certainly us a VGR don't want you to have suicidal thoughts with them around.
