  1. To be honest I don't think it's particularly relevant. I don't see discs or cartridges having a future. I'm the next 5 to 10 years it's going to be all digital downloads and cloud streaming.
  2. If it's a competitive PVP game then yes, I would consider it cheating. Otherwise have at it! It's not the gamer's fault that the developers failed to spot an exploit during testing.
  3. Windows Phones do exist... Still doesn't explain the joke though.
  4. Then there's the infamous "Damn it!" drinking game!
  5. No, but I think it might actually be quite a clever strategy for the SNP. One Google search on this guy and everyone in England would think "Ok... FUCK THIS! Give them independence and leave them be!". 😅
  6. @Reality vs Adventure I don't wanna defend the Chinese Government (trust me, I REALLY don't), but you haven't quite got the full context to this. Gaming addiction is a pretty serious problem in China, more so than it is in the west. Part of the reason for this is that most don't own a gaming console or PC of thier own, instead they go to 24 hour internet café's. So when you consider that people including children are gaming and spending in a public space, with pretty much no supervision... I think you start to see the problems. There are people that have legitimately lost their lives in those kind of places after gaming for litteraly days at a time. It's not such a problem if the people, particularly children are at home like they trypicaly would be over here where that can be supervised or at least have somone knock on the door once in a while. I'm not saying the Chinese Government won't abuse this, they fucking obviously will, but I can see a point to it.
  7. The first time I heard heavy metal in a video game was with Carmageddon, which used instrumentals from Fear Factory's Demanufacture album. Back then I didn't even really know what heavy metal was but I loved it! But I think the king of heavy soundtracks has to go to Brütal Legend. The whole game from visual design, lore, story and even self-deprecating humour all revolve around heavy metal culture. Then there's the soundtrack which of course fucking rocks! There's over 100 tracks The likes of Testament, Black Sabbath, Iced Earth, Motörhead, Mötley Crüe, Tvangeste, Dark Tranquillity, Megadeath, In Flames, Manowar, Dimmu Borgir, Judas Priest..... It goes on forever!
  8. There's not really any direct monetary incentive to having loading screens, outside of the normal practice of releasing the game on PC and consoles. The PS3 and XBox 360 were the home consoles at the time and they would certainly not be cable of loading the entirety of Skyrim at once. Then even if the PS4 and XBox One could the game was already designed the way it was on 2011.

    Sailfish OS

From what I understand it's based on Linux and (much like Linux) it's sometimes used by software developers to test their apps since it's offers more flexibility when it comes to control. It's not really commercially viable because if compatibility issues and a low user base though.
  10. The main difference is that the SKSE (Script Extender) does not work on the PlayStation because of some differences in how the PlayStation console launches the games. Without SKSE the only changes you can make are literally skin deep. Changing textures, moving assets around, that sorta stuff. So any mod that affects AI, game mechanics, quests, dialogue, progression or stats won't work properly because they require the SKSE in order to function.
  11. It seems that the creation engine can only load in one area at a time. Probably because loading in the entire open world with every interior and exterior location would take up far to much memory or might just a limitation of the engine itself. So anytime you're indoors or even in a town it's a different data package to the rest of the open world. So if you for example are playing Skyrim and you go through the doors of Solitude the game wipes the exterior world from memory and loads in Solitude in it's place. Then if you go into the Winking Skeever it wipes Solitude from the memory and loads the internal of the Winking Skeever in its place. There are some engine's (like Ubisoft's Anvil; Assassin's Creed) that can load internal and external areas at once hence you can look outside through a window or an open door but Bethesda's dated software just doesn't seem to work that way. I've said it time and time again that Bethesda need something new. Since Microsoft bought them they could probably use 343's much newer Slipspace, but they seem to stubbornly sticking with what they've got.
  12. I don't think there are many modern games that get it wrong. The formula is more or less nailed down by now.
  13. Additional: Although it has to said the EU doesn't have any real power over the internal politics of any individual nation under it. It's focus is mostly on the economics of trade and travel. There's some degree of immigration involed but again immigration controls are mostly internal policies to. So he couldn't really do any as drastic as let's say... Get Spain to build a wall around Portugal, so there's no need to worry to much.
  14. I watch a bit of motorsport like Formula 1 but that's about it.
  15. An Architect probably could cross train or consult with game designers when designing in game structures and they probably do, but it's not the same. A building that an Architect designs comes under much heavier scrutiny then a video game asset because it has to exist in the real world. They have to consider the utilitys like electricity and water, materials, budget, the environment and a bunch of other factors that usually don't matter in a game.
  16. You need to read between the lines when it comes to documents like this. It's not about banning racial prejudice but about stopping people from being educated about it, it's literal censorship of history. It's the very kind of ignorance and lack of understanding of other people that increases tension on topics like race in first place. Let's use World War 2 and Nazi Germany as an example. What if the history of Germany in the 1930's was never taught in schools? Most people wouldn't know or understand how Adolf Hitler, a man was openly antisemitic and anti-democratic came into power. His motivations for going to war with the rest of Europe and organising a genocide wouldn't be widely understood. It might be uncomfortable at times but it's very important to learn about it because if future generations don't learn these things they will be doomed to make the same mistakes. That's why this kind of legislation is a bad idea. You don't educate people properly (especially about history) if you cherry pick just the facts that glorify or demonize the subject in the way suits a certain agenda. You need to be honest and truth is America was built of the back of slaves. The Native American tribes cheated out of their land and slaughtered by European settlers. All Americans with the exception of those descended from those tribes are descended from immigrants or slaves. It wasn't even that long ago the that black people in America had to fight for basic human rights. I don't understand why anyone would think prohibiting educator's from teaching about these kind of events would do anything other than spread ignorance, confusion and isn't blatantly disrespectful.
  17. In reality, you are WAY more likely to be injured riding a horse than rollercoaster. I know that's not the point, fear by it's very nature is irrational.
  18. I feel the need to save you from future disappointments. You shouldn't expect to hear anything about The Elder Scrolls VI for LONG time. I'd bet it's still in pre-production and won't be out till probably 2025 at the earliest. Bethesda is all out on Starfield right and even that won't be out till next year.
  19. I know right! I bought that game on the Switch and I was SO annoyed with that! It's like Nintendo assumed that everyone who bought it on the new console were among the fifteen people who played and unlocked everything on the Wii U version already; stupid!
  20. I was hoping to hear more about the Perfect Dark reboot, but I guess it is still kinda early on production. Maybe next year.
