What game did you think looked graphically amazing when it came out, but now you would laugh at?

Is there a game you thought featured amazing, lifelike graphics when it came out, but which now looks really clunky?

Mafia 1 to be honest, in my opinion back then, it had way better graphics than most of the open world games back then (GTA 3/Vice City), but it's a whole other story now

FF8, honestly. Sure the cutscenes are beautiful and some of the best graphics I have ever seen in a video game. But including the remaster you can still tell that it’s a more than 20 year old game.

NBA Live '98.  It's fun to go back and play as Antoine Walker (the Celtics star player of my teens), but I'm not going to pretend the graphics were any great shakes.  I guess I thought they were good at the time though.

I can think of a few like Mk4, FF8 and Gran Tourismo that I thought looked amazing and life-like when they came out but looking at these games today, they looks so freaking ancient.

I loved GT1.  I think I completed it three or four times.

In away they make more updates and the performance for me is getting bad and bad LOL no better

I think that the game EverQuest was pretty graphically amazing in its early days. Now it's kind of a joke.

I'd say most early 3D games in general from the mid to late 90's.  It was a transitional period between the old and the new so I think you can forgive them on that but there are older 2D games that actually hold up much better.

I've completed GT1, GT2, the completion meter was busted, but GT3 and GT6.  GT4 I found too hard and GT5 had things that took too long for my amount of spare time like the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

It's definitely going to be mostly my Sega console games. For example, Contra and Mario.
