The last three Assassin's Creed games: Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla each have a separate Discovery Tour gameplay option. The Discovery Tour is fact based history that helps guide you to learn about culture, religion, people, and places. On the main title screen instead of playing the main game, click on DT to learn more. What it is, is the same entire map but with icons you can fast travel to and have a guided tour explain history of that location. There is no fighting or anything, but you can still climb on everything and explore using all sorts of different characters you can play which unlocks. In the main game, when you arrive at a new location, check the Discovery Tour to see if there is some history you can learn about first before progressing more in the game. That way you can play region by region or city by city and learn what you can. For example, I've started a new game for AC Origins. I've come to the city of Alexandria and did a few quests and explored a bit. Then I exited the main game and checked the DT which had around 10 or so tours for the city of Alexandria learning about the pharos, battles, Gods, art, education and philosophy, etc. which is spread around the city. Then when I've completed those, I went back to the main game and traveled to another region where I checked again Discovery Tours there and found history on fauna, animals, agriculture, beer making, etc. And now I'm ready to move on to the pyramids where there are tons of history tours there. Playing this way has enriched my gameplay. I've learned a great deal and it's just amazing. Many people who play those games really don't appreciate the historical aspect of it. So that's why I've made this topic as the best way to play these games. This literally can be taught in schools if there was even more focus on history. Cause like I said, the tour allows you to traverse the same map as in regular gameplay and you can fly your eagle around and soak it all up and go into forts and absolutely everywhere w/o worrying about getting attacked.1 point

EA Is Looking To Sell Or Merge The Company, According To Report
Withywarlock reacted to killamch89 for a topic
I saw this one about a month back but was surprised no one even mentioned it so I thought this would make a great article. First and foremost, let me just say that I'm not surprised at all that they have got to the stage where they're losing so much revenue that they had to consider selling. I was just surprised it even took this long - after a decade or more of terrible decisions, it's really started to affect them and I couldn't be happier. A report states that they have approached Amazon, Facebook and a couple of other huge companies to try and negotiate the sale or merger of EA. One of the stipulations they had was that the current CEO remains in charge of EA and they get to work independently (because EA knows how to make great games and totally won't screw it up). I'm not sure if this was an April Fools joke (it'd be like EA to totally miss the deadline by months) because the terms sound unreasonable. What do you guys think of this whole saga? Also, who would you like to buy EA?1 point -
Ask me anything, and I’ll try to answer them to the best of my knowledge.1 point

The very best one for me among the game's franchise would be Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The gameplay, graphics and just about everything in the game was a lot better than what the one's have to offer.1 point

@Yaramaki I understand your suggestion. I am going to brainstorm a solution where users who have made X amount of MEANINGFUL posts and/or have been a member at VGR for X amount of time period have the ability to edit posts for more than 10 minutes. Basically this feature would only be available to those who are considered valued contributors of the forum (which I would categorize you in).1 point

There's enough people on here who don't speak English as a first language, but still post legibly albeit with some errors. Sadly, there is also enough people who post content that's hard to understand because they don't care and are only interested in getting as many posts done as possible. Let me tell you from experience it is very easy to tell the difference. Posts that you and the other members is who don't speak English as a first language are still understandable. A few minor grammatical errors and spelling mistakes isn't going to bug anyone. It is perfectly acceptable and isn't actually what makes there "other" people's post hard to read. It's more about thier post being structured badly and convoluted because it's the act of someone typing in a rush. The act of someone who hasn't thought it through and obviously doesn't proof read anything before posting it. I believe that you make fantastic posts, and you do, because you take your time. Just because the reason you take your time is because of language difficulties, doesn't change the positive effect it has. Hell, even as a native English speaker I can take just as long as you on a post because I'm a horrible typist and make errors all the time, but taking the time I need to get it good enough, just like you do, helps a great deal. You should have seen the mess this very post would have been if I hadn't gone back... twice. I know you're disappointed that your request didn't gather the support you hoped in this this early stage (Ultimately, it's up to @DC, not me or anyone else, so you should not get discouraged anyway), but I can't be anything else but honest and I think that this is a fix for something that isn't broken. Give yourself a little credit, like I said the quality of the content you put on VGR from the very start has been superb. I could be convinced to champion for the edit window to be extended a little bit, maybe to 15 minutes, but I can't get behind 30 minutes, I'm sorry.1 point

What Unreleased Game Are You Most Excited About?
Reality vs Adventure reacted to Clasher for a topic
Stray which has been announced to be released July 19th this year , formerly known as HK_project developed by bluetwelve studios is a game I am looking forward to as well. Here is what it's looking like1 point -
*sigh takes deep breath and shakes head in disbelief and bashes hand on the table* Man why do i keep bothering everithing i suggest just gets slammed anyway, so yet again people who are serious about their posts are getting the middle finger because they want a little more time to perfect their posts all because yet again those so called shit posters who feel the need to make 500+ posts a month. Don't get this the wrong way but english is not my first language grammar mistakes happen, you may not believe me but some of my posts take me half an hour or more, the least i could get is half an hour the time to edit any mistakes i made along the way. I could start posting in dutch, french or japanese if you want, maybe then somebody will realise how hard it is to speak/write in multiple languages without making spelling errors.1 point

I am not willing to tolerate it either. Using "abuse of power" claims is not something a staff member should be subjected to, unless they are undoubtedly without any question about it, obviously abusing their power. There are plenty of people here that I personally am not a friend of theirs and for the most part that I strongly disagree with. Yet while I have debated them, I have not deleted or edited any posts just because we aren't particularly "friends". Yes, I have deleted and edited posts, but those were situations where the post in question heavily broke the rules of the forum. And to suggest that as a mod we are exempt from the rules is absolutely uncalled for. There is a reason I was made a mod. It's because @DC trusted me enough to have me as a staff member. That is not something that is offered without merit. @Grungie Taking your frustrations out on me is out of line. Just because you have had mod issues at other forums, doesn't mean that all mods are like that. Nor does it give you the right to bring those grievances here. Not all forums are the same, nor are all mods the same. I did not insult you. I never called you a name, nor brought your intelligence into question. Did I use the word ignorant in my posts? Yes, I did. Did I use the word stupid in my posts? No, I did not. And if you had actually looked at the image I gave you, you would have seen that it was not a link to a wikipedia page. It was separate information. Yes the wikipedia article was linked nearby. But what I showed you was not from wikipedia. All that said, we welcome you to the forum. But insulting the staff will cause anyone here problems. Everyone is subject to that. We all have to abide by the rules. And if you look at them, you will see that @DC is the one that outlined the rules. Neither @Shagger nor myself have edited them. I do however suggest that you brush up on them before continuing to post in this manner.1 point -
Would it be possible to extend the time you can edit your posts for a little longer, i think it's 15 minutes now if my memory doesen't fail me it's kind on the short side especially if you're post are on the longer side? I'm always too late whenever i feel like i should have added something in or i see a big grammer error, could have phrased something better.1 point

I Checked it out, it sounds much like the theme song added in shadow warrior 3 and I also compared it with the one in the tom and Jerry snippet you posted and it's sound similar.1 point

Design flaws or bugs are alover us, doesn't matter if you are in singleplayer or multiplayer, point that I come across so many, even in games that are no onger new. Yet can help you in the long run or makes it hard and pointless in another way. I've ever found an exploit or a glitch that's been all that beneficial. Most either lead me to dying, having to restart for being unable to move forwards, or are just weird graphical/physics engine quirks where a character will end up with an elongated finger or floating in midair.1 point

The Blackangel reacted to Shagger for a topic
@Grungie, you would do will by listening to @Reality vs Adventure. It's quite clear to me that you were debating with @The Blackangel the person, not the mod', and it was a person she decided to leave the conversation before things got out of hand. Her being a mod clearly had nothing to do with this, but then you play the victim and imply that there was some sort of abuse of power, which quite honestly is ridiculous. She didn't edit your posts. remove any of them nor threaten you with such actions or any action within her power as a mod. However, making false claims that we are abusing our power on the public forum is NOT something that I'm prepared to tolerate. Even if @The Blackangel is, I'm not. If you felt @The Blackangel was taking it to far, why wouldn't you report it? So I'm giving you two choices: Make a formal complaint with either myself or @DC. The claim will be looked at in a professional and impartial manner, but bear in mind I have already looked at this thread and whilst it was certainly a heated debate, I didn't see either of you break any rules. Apologise to @The Blackangel for the false claim. I'm not going to let you post anymore until you do one or the other.1 point -
This was yet another franchise that had no business going open-world. The Sonic series' gameplay has always been about going in one direction very fast. They're basically racing games. Making an open-world Sonic game is like dropping a Lamborghini in the middle of a forest and removing the finish line. The Legend of Sonic: Breath of the Knuckles is just another cash grab driven by investors who can't comprehend that no matter how much money it made, you can't just turn anything into Fallout.1 point

The battery pack gave it a little longer play time, but not much. Also the damn thing was heavy as hell. If you lacked endurance or strength, it was better to lay it on a table, which is completely pointless. If you're doing that, just play a regular Sega on the TV.1 point -
I have this funny habit of having some of the games that I have across the platforms - PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch that I play on. A friend of mine says it's not necessary but that's his opinion by the way. I don't care about it.1 point

What is the console you would want most - excluding next gen

My choice would definitely be the Nintendo Switch as I haven't had a Nintendo gaming device for some time now and I want to play things like Mario Kart and Smash Ultimate along with Breath of the Wild and some Pokemon.1 point -
Think Facebook will make their own console?
Aniekwe reacted to killamch89 for a topic
I want them to make so it can flop so badly that Facebook will never consider the idea ever again. Most of us don't even like Facebook or anything associated with it so why would we want a console from them? As you said, they're just going to come out with some generic unoriginal crap and make it overpriced. Why the hell would we want that?1 point -

Best advice if you don't need the money or space don't sell your old consoles, fat chance you are going to regret it later well maybe not right away but give it a few years time and it be like damn wish i could play that game again.1 point

I think the idea that certain game genres shouldn't exist on certain platforms in this day and age is ridiculous. Regardless of what control scheme you preffer for whatever gamer whether it be controller, mouse & keyboard, racing wheel or whatever they can and often do work on PC and consoles. Yeah, I have my own personal preference's to but I don't understand why people throw such a god damn hissy fit about what other people use to play the games that they paid for.1 point

Why does it cost money to game online on consoles?
Aniekwe reacted to killamch89 for a topic
@Shagger explanation is legit but couldn't they make it more affordable? Those subscription prices are a bit too much just to game online...0 points
