  3. I had to google what the "less than the sum of it's parts" means and i'm still not 100% sure what it means exactly but i'll try to do my best to cover a few games combined over a couple of posts. I apologize in advance that It may not be as in depth or as good as @Withywarlock posts but the least i can do is help out and keep this thread alive. Let's start with an obvious choice : Mafia III ( Hangar 13/2k games 2016 ) Mafia series has always been a favourite of mine, albeit the first 2 games are mosly linear in an open world city as there is little to no exploration possible in both games. The strength in both games were always the story, fun and varied missions, great likeable characters you know the sorta things you expect from a mafia game. Mafia 3 takes another route by going full blown open world because that is what all the games tend to to these days but boy in my humble oppinion New bordeaux is still one of the best open worlds to mess around with it, it's bursting with life, different communities in different disctricts, the 60 ies atmosphere shines trough and trough and you really feel like you are into late 60 ies. The story is top notch and has great production value, if you haven't played it i'm not going into details about the story, but's all about revenge and you're pretty much a man army kinda like a 60 ies John rambo. There are some really likeable characters like Donovan and that priest who's name eludes me sadly just to name a few. However the main character Lincoln Clay is as boring and generic as possibly can be, this is the first thing of critique that stands in the way of the game being a modern classic as you never feel really connected to the main character. Musicwise you'll get greeted by jimmy hendrix on the title screen so you just know it coulden't get any better then this. Killing dudes on the tunes of Creedence clearwater revival, the animals or even the rolling stones it never gets old. Just look at the sountrack and judge for yourself. Let's talk about the exellent combat it's brutal and there is a real sense of satisfaction when you kill everybody the stealth way with a rambo-esque knife, the gameplay is top notch, pretty much your cover/shoot affair nothing wrong with that. Guns handle well and each feel unique to handle. The cars feel heavy they way it should be and the handling is one of the better i've seen in open world games. There are some of greatest collectibles i've seen in any video game like album covers, playboy centerfolds, hot rod magazine you know items you would go out of your way to get. Now here is where "are less than the sum of it's parts" is in place. The whole premise of the game is to take over new bordeaux district by district, things you have done a million times already in ubisoft games. Not only that but the missions are repetitive and are just plain boring after a while and you just force yourself to continue playing because of the great story. You go on all this effort to make 90% of the game a potential modern classic just to was it all with these boring activities and missions why oh why hangar 13. I haven't played any of the mafia III dlc so this is just the base game i'm talking about. Also it's been a while like 5+ years since i played the game so apoligies if i forgot to cover anything in particulair, since this was the first title that came to my mind, figured i'd give it a go.

  5. That's right. TESII: Daggerfall re-imagined in Unity engine is now available completely free on PC from GOG. To get the game on GOG, click here. GOG link It is possible to claim the game on Steam as well, but is a bit more of a hassle. You need to claim the original game on Steam (Find it here. It is also free.) then download the updated version from the Daggerfall Workshop Website then install it like it were a mod. Check the site for full details.

  6. CD Project Red announced that they are currently working on a new Witcher game, apparently its not Witcher 4 and Geralt is not going to be the main character. Im not sure who is going to be the protagonist but the picture shows a Lynx medallion, so it will not be somebody from the wolf school. I was really hoping to see Ciri as the main character but we will have to wait and see.

  8. That isn't really hard to do to be honest. I mean, Bethesda has been using the same game engine for close to a decade and it has been used as the basis for a few games made by people who started out as Skyrim modders.

Of course it is real - it's a contact sport. I've done martial arts as a kid and ended up with a broken arm during a tournament final. I did win the final but it took my hand two months after to be fully functional again.

  13. There's a couple i can think of that would be great : Amsterdam would be a cool one for a change, a city with so many lore and history, needless to say it's quite a beautiful city that would probably work best if it's set into the years 1588-1672 during the Dutch golden age. The entire Nagano Prefecture in japan would also be a good one for a racing game, narrow mountain passes for touge racing combined with beautiful nature and ancient japanese architecture for a relaxing experience, you could do a lot worse as a setting for a forza horizon game. If we think outside the box the Nagano Prefecture would be an awesome place for just about any open world game, why not a farming game with exploration and management elements. A life simulator where you are on vacation and can do various activities and go explore the area with the moto the days are yours go do something fun and relaxing something ala the Boku no Natsuyasumi series.

  18. There's a very big chance that it's not going to be a flop. Game of Thrones didn't disappoint us. It depends on how your house is directed to the view of the sun that might make sun enter it too much and make it hot. I have been in such kind of houses. It's only at night that it's calm in it.

  20. The industry changed a lot in the past 4 years, I'm trying to avoid it in general, not because I'm not up for it, but because it's not standardized properly yet. I was working as a marketing consultant for a few operators and saw the switch from "We don't know what esports is" to "Ok let's offer esports betting on our site" and most of the larger operators who had an actual license to do it got burned in their first year. I'm not gonna name any companies, but the process looked like this basically, the operators thought that - they can do the numbers in-house with their own traders, not keeping in mind that their traders are not savvy with esports and don't know the market at all. - they can believe the "large brands" within the esports world, and the more noise a team has generated on social media, the better they must be. - the IESF organization will be open for partnerships (spoiler: they weren't) - (most important) the users who will gamble will be mostly 18+ for Europe and 21+ old for Canada In return what they got was an influx of minors with fake ID's and mom and pa's credit cards who wanted to gamble, and those who were old enough were also experienced within the esports world and knew the teams/players good enough to win almost every bet there was. I remember that the biggest flop was that match where we had a female team competing in one of the earlier LCL's, I think the name was Vavictus or something along those lines. In other words, the first few years were a disaster. Until the pandemic kicked, then all of a sudden the old traders were replaced by experienced esports traders, and the whole industry has somewhat matured. Nevertheless, there's still no historical data on a bunch of teams, and it's hard for the traders to set up the correct numbers.

A PC, preferably HP. If you're going for a gaming PC, iBuyPower is a good one. Possibly a TV, assuming you watch TV. TCL is a good brand. Actually anything supporting Roku is good. There's the normal's like a fridge, microwave, and stove/oven. I don't know much about brands there, so I can't recommend one. I can't think of much more at the moment.

  30. Not a city but a county: Yorkshire. You've got the dales and farmlands, the steel city of Sheffield, the coal towns, the shattering village of Skelmanthorpe, and some coastline. Set it during post-WW2 and you could have quite a strong atmosphere for a game. Call it Forlar' Farv (that's Fallout Five for those outside of God's Own County) and sell it for For'y Quid. In the meantime we'll have to settle for that Southern tripe, Fallout: London. I guess that'd be an alright place to explore. Might even work as a Yakuza-style world: compact and true to scale, if your hardware can handle all the pigeons.

  31. My own experience is even a bit more hilarious than yours. It was growing pubic hairs πŸ˜‚. I was so fascinated by it and my peer group and older boys I played with didn't make life easier for me back then. We usually go to the stream to swim and on getting there, we would all undress and if you haven't grown pubic hairs, you won't be allowed to swin deeper in the stream πŸ˜‚. I had to start using alcohol on my pubic area because I heard that it makes hairs to grow faster/quicker... πŸ˜‚. Today, I wish I don't have hairs down there πŸ˜‚.. I'm tired of shaving all the time 😩.

  32. I have to agree with @Shagger on this one. Game companies should restrain themselves from announcing a release date on a game until all that's left is the polish. That would give them more time to finish the game, and weed out as many bugs and glitches as possible. Sure they'll miss a few of those issues, but us as consumers will let them know. Announcing a release date too early is what causes pushbacks on the games and anger among gamers. So if they wait until it's ready to be released before they announce a release date, they will win out in the end. more people will be willing to wait for the next installment because the developers take their time to make it the best possible. I mean look at how long it's been since GTAV came out.

  33. I'd say its sensible, but I imagine a lot of marketing teams would say sensible is exactly how not to market something. Shagger's response above is far better than what I can put out, but for my most detailed answer see my Reddit post on Cyberpunk 2077's reception. Part of the reason was the game's development was announced nine years before it saw the light of day, with much chopping and changing going on behind the scenes before even the nucleus of the idea of Keanu Reeves hitting the stage was developed. Its release date was only one of its many problems leading up to launch. I would like to think developers and publishers have learned from this. I get that you need a proof of concept to get investors on board, and I get you need something for people to talk about but this should be for expos and not conventions (as said many times on this forum, E3 struggles to be either); the former is the business side of the industry, the latter the leisure side (i.e most of us here).

  34. That's a fact!! It saddens me that the man have retired from active wrestling. Only if it's possible to beat age, I'd have him do it and still wrestle. You're right about the bugs they 2K have been killing the franchise with in recent years. I can't forget the crap they did with WWE 2K20.

  36. Realistic physics can be part of graphics (rain, smoke, knocked up dirt, etc), but yeah I completely agree with what you're saying. One thing that's been standing out to me is AA. A lot of games look great but then have jaggies everywhere. I was playing Forza Horizon 5 maxed out and it felt like parts of the car were meant to saw wood with the amount of jagged lines it had along the rear bumper/trunk lip.
