  2. Seriously - The constant thought of did I save my progress and having the urge to save over again and again is innate. You can't really save enough especially if you have auto save turned off.

  3. I'm not sure if they even really count. Yeah they might be missing an arm or whatever but most of them have artificial limbs or implants that if anything make them stronger. That's kinda sums up the problem with disabled characters in games. For the sake of gameplay you want to feel empowered not restricted. I'm all for diversity in games but, and I'm sure @The Blackangel will testify to this, it ain't fun being disabled in real life so it won't be fun in a game either.

  4. Now, The Elder Scrolls one I can almost understand, but why would anyone want to eat food based of food from the Fallout universe?

  5. I notice I easily miss on-screen instructions in games, even those that are permanently stamped on menu screens. Do others have this problem?

  8. I'm not joking. I wish I was. But that's the good thing about NES games. The difficulty and uniqueness of the games can make them a multiple decades long challenge. I may be dead for 100 years and reincarnated as a squirrel before I beat the dirty bastard. But I will at some point.

  10. That's quite good! Reminds me a bit of Celtic music. I admire her for singing in the gravelly voice for so long. I can imagine the sore throat she had & all the practice to make it sound so realistic.

  11. FFVII being described as "underappreciated"? Walks outside to find the planet is turning the wrong direction and the sky is purple with green spots.

  12. Parallels, leaving out spoilers: 1-The Quarian fleet and the Colonial fleet. The Geth and the Cylons. 2-Tricia Helfer's Six in BSG and EDI in Mass Effect clearly have some parallels. This was not a coincidence, given the casting. 3-Both stories focus on conflict between organics and synthetics (albeit organic synthetics in BSG). 4-Both stories focus on overcoming prejudice. 5-Picking the "green" ending in ME3 has somewhat parallel results to some aspects of BSG's ending. -"All of this has happened before/all of this will happen again." Both BSG and ME focus on cycles of violence between organics and their creations, and putting an end to those cycles. Thank you, @Shagger.

  13. Same here - I started replaying just last week. Some of the most innovative game mechanics of its time but just doesn't get the respect it deserves.

  14. It's not my fault I'm not a Snake Eater (MGS 3 reference/pun intended). I'm just not the type to eat any and every animal that may or may not be edible. I'd much rather let it get to live out its life than to satisfy a craving.

  15. Some Snakes are VENOMOUS, but none of them are POISONOUS. These are not the same thing and that's important for reasons I'll explain below. Obviously the meat from an animal can decompose or get filled with compounds like adrenaline to the point where it's not edible anymore. I believe that's what you were getting at here. But I think what @killamch89 was worried about is which parts of a snake contain Venom, but this is actually not relevant. The difference between a Venom and a Poison is that a poison is effective when ingested, but a Venom is only effective if it directly enters the bloodstream. As long as there were no open wounds on the inside of your mouth or oesophagus that the Venom could get into you can litteraly drink it and it would just urinate it back out. Otherwise the snake could easily die by ingesting its own Venom. So even the Venomous parts of snakes a safe to cook and eat.

  16. Your grandmother comes back from the dead. The zombie wants to come in and bake you cookies but is going to eat your brain immediately afterward. You have 2 options. Let her bake you cookies and get to spend the extra time with her then she eats your brain. Or chop her head off instantly and rebury her. What do you do? I would let her come in, bake me some cookies and then eat my brain. She would go away hungry, but it would be worth it to spend an extra hour or two with my grandma.

  17. I agree, it makes the experience more complicated because it's only human that you'll sometimes forget when to use tap or hold control and screw yourself over.

  18. If I remember correctly, there was Joker from Mass Effect 2 but he wasn't that prominent of a character. Honestly, it's difficult to name any because the disabled characters tend to be side characters or NPCs. Unlike me who doesn't mind playing as one if it created a unique experience, there's not a lot of appeal for characters like that in the traditional gaming market and companies tend to follow the money so most won't put in the effort to include one.

  19. I agree totally - As my grandma used to say" they sure know how to make em."

  20. If this "random silly chaos" includes bugs, anything from Bethesda. If this "random silly chaos" does not include bugs, anything from Bethesda. If this "random silly chaos" is by design... then it's not really "random silly chaos", bringing us right back to Bethesda.

  22. Having any exceptation would be setting myself up for disappointment. There was a fan made fallout series a few years ago, and while it captured the look and tone well, it was very boring.

  23. You mean the actual disc case? I didn't even know some people throw it away. As for games that come in special boxes / cases, those are collectible who in their right mind would throw them out? But I'm ocd about keeping the original packaging of everything. I always think that when I eventually going to sell it it will be easier if I have the original packaging, but ofc that is never the case. It just comes down to whether someone wants it or not.

  25. That sounds awesome - I have a modded follower in Skyrim that's a berserker and every time I start running around in battle he's like "you're the dragonborn, quit running around and fight like one!".

  26. I can think of a few, I'll start with this one: I'll prefix this by saying I love Ninja Theory, but the changes made to this franchise and Dante's character in particular were misguided and arrogant. I think I said in another how creators shouldn't let outside influence stifle their creativity, but this pushed it to far and an otherwise decent entry to in the series earned scalding from the fans as a result. I'll just say it, Gearbox and it's CEO Randy Pitchford flat out lied about what this game would be and to this day use misleading screenshots and footage on the Steam storefront. Don't believe me, even SEGA called them out! Of course Randy Pitchford remains in complete denial and defends still defends it. There's more than this but right now I don't have time, I'll probably post something later.

    Best opening to a game?

Seriously - I was actually looking up to Doom Eternal having or following the same set up, although it wasn't that much disappointing either.

  28. Games like Hatred keep me from going off the deep end. There are other games where intoxicants are a core feature, and you see what happens when someone uses such item. But it doesn't go in depth like this game does. I think it's a good idea if they can figure out the right way to implement it so that it reaches a broader audience of kids. The after school just say no campaigns failed miserably. It's documented that it actually drove more kids to try drugs as opposed to dissuade them from it. Maybe this will have it's intended effect since it's delivered in video game form.

  29. They must be holding a yoga pose playing games.

  30. How would they even implement it? Would they make high schoolers play it in school, or hope that they actually buy it from the store? And they should add alcohol to that list. BAM!!! Not gonna happen cause the lobbies have the money to protect alcohol and force the pills down our throats. If schools adopt it, then the government gets in there, then the lobbies get in there. And you are left with-illegal NO...prescription-YES. Come get your bump at the pharmacy. It's sugar coated for you. Say ahhhhhh. 🤐

  31. The classic fantasy board game, Hero Quest, was turned into a game on Amstrad CPC 464 back in the day. Absolutely loved it. I mean, look at the box art of the board game. It's freakin' AWESOME!

  32. I stated two things: 1. I prefer attractive or traditionally beautiful characters over plain ones all else being equal 2. That I'm uncomfortable playing games with my character in undies. The only one seeing a conflict between the two is you. So I don't know what twisted logic are you using when you are trying to say that it's me who thinks nude = more attractive. I caught you out for what I've been saying all the time. To quote one of my favorite writers: "sexual moralizing by public figures is a sign of hypocrisy or worse, and most usually a desire to perform the very act that is most being condemned" I know you are not a public figure, but you are constantly moralizing on this public forum, and accuse me of what turns out you are obviously guilty of. I'm not implying anything you hadn't already proven. It's done, own up to it. That would actually be a virtuous thing, rather than just virtue signaling all the time. You know, being angry doesn't solve anything, you are just digging that hole you are in deeper. That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence. I'll admit though that sometimes I do tend to be arrogant, but that's not personal, it's just the fact that when you hear the same false accusations laid at your feet without evidence for the nth time it becomes tedious to even argue against them. But then you actually provide evidence to the contrary yourself. How can I be a hypocrite if I stand by my words? And if I make a mistake I own up to it. Something which you seem incapable of. The misguided nature of others saddens me, but it does not change my views. You know what could? Reasons and evidence for the contrary that I hold true.If you want to sway me, use evidence, not insults. Insults only hurt if they ring true. Must be hard being you. You can't even create a proper echo chamber by hiding dissenting views. Please excuse me if I don't feel any sympathy for the hardships you endure because of me. Let's be diligent, let's recap what my "warped" philosophy is: Games should not always be an exact mirror image of reality Main characters in games should be more attractive than average Mandating racial or gender quotas in games is bad I can see now, I'm literally the worst. I don't know how can you measure my intelligence through a forum, but I'll take that as a compliment, thanks. And I'm not proud to be arrogant, but I'm humble enough to admit it.
