  1. Herro :D, You guys can call me EOS or Gabe, I've been digging around online trying to find some decent forums / conversations outside of Reddit , twitter, and happened to dig into the Google rabbit hole enough to find VGR. Hoping to have some good conversations and get to know fellow nerds like myself. Some things about myself to break the ice and hopefully connect are: Been a die hard gamer since before internet came on a disk and the only emojis in a chat room were of the "XD", "^.^", " :D", ":P" ":'(" style haha. The game I've spent the most time on has to be Runescape, started playing around 2004 on and off for about 17 years. Would say WoW , Diablo, Path of Exile, Dark Souls all follow behind but were equally as addicting in their own ways. In terms of none MMORPG's Spyro the Dragon, MegaMan, GTA < the PS1 and PS2 versions , Sims, Age of Empires, RollerCoasterTycoon dominated my gaming life before internet gaming took over. Chances are there's a few titles I've played that could be listed but the above are what shaped my preferences in gaming today. Would love to hear about anyone that wants to chat so feel free to say hello and break the ice with us ❤️ Hope everyone has a rocking weekend, EOS

  4. Cooking standards vary wildly all over the planet. This may be the norm and totally acceptable in India. Hell, things like that are done here in the states in some locations. I know when I worked at Pizza Hut, we weren't required to wear gloves or anything. We used our bare hands to make the pizzas. A lot of mom & pop restaurants are like that too. It is what it is. But at least the guy in the video is using his right hand to cook and leaving his left hand away from the food.

  5. Goofy graphic style don't seem to date even in this year, seriously thats fantastic. The levels are always a fun adventure that can't be miss. Insomniacs classic series went in a bang that left a nice footprint that can't be removed. I'm glad I played this.

  6. The skateboard would've been in the third game, Year of the Dragon, but yes I remember that same love for it. I rate the games as thus: the first is the most replayable; the second is the best for refining the existing formula; the third is the most innovative, but I find one of the least replayable games because of its use of cutscenes, alternate characters, greater emphasis on minigames and greater difficulty. The first one, as you go on to say, is the one I play the most for its humble nature. It lets you go through the levels seamlessly and wastes no time. When I was waiting on my PC to be repaired, this was the game I played on the console itself rather than an emulator. Over, and over, and over. Got to 100% completion (sometimes completing the bonus level at the end), deleted my save and started over again. I'd probably completed it about 15-20 times before and after work whilst waiting for my PC to come home. Indeed. I recently did a Let's Play of the game wherein my main criticisms were the maps were too large and full of nothing, meaning you'd spend an extra 20-30 minutes trying to find any remaining dragon treasure/dragonflies, the enemy reaction times were stepped up (which is fine, given they've always been slow in previous games), and some of the minigames were flat out broken. I had to switch from the PS2 version to the GameCube version simply because a slide level didn't work and thus I couldn't get 100% completion. For anyone who would like to get into it, the GameCube version isn't as pretty but it's considerably less buggy (at least the GameCube version on the Dolphin emulator).

Ave This band of lunatics will give you no shortage of engaging discussions. There are a few people that could be something to worry about as we’re all crazier than the rest. But if you’re civil everyone else will be too. If someone is unduly an asshole, the staff is quick to nip it in the bud. In essence, we’re always welcoming to new members, so I’m sure you will make some good friends here. Ave

    Spyro the Dragon

Haven't thought about this game title in years but after replying to a fest post it popped into my head xD Did anyone ever get addicted to this game back on the PS1? I remember spending countless days playing this over and over again, just the skateboard, the fairy and riding around with that awesome music kept my little undeveloped brain attached to the screen. Probably one of my favorite games of all time do to its humble nature. If you have any games that gave you a similar feeling please do share. EOS

  13. Yes I have to admit it, it started during the beggining of the pandemic While watching facebook videos I came across some Indian street food clips, they looked interesting until I you notice how fucking nasty those places are, I mean dude is mixing vegetables with the food with his bare hands, no gloves, no water to wash his hands and if they use a rag they will just use the same old brown shit looking rag. And whats worse I cant stop watching them!!!

  14. That has nothing whatsoever to do with my original point. All I said was that some of the games I mentioned were exclusive to Sony at some point. You were factually incorrect about some Metal Gear stuff, so I pointed some of that out as well; such as the fact that only the MSX versions of the Metal Gear titles are considered canon. Exclusivity certainly means alot less these days, unless you are Nintendo because people buy the consoles for the Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Pokemon and Metroid stuff, etc.

    General Gaming Discussion

Yeah most people couldn't afford it. For some people that's the price of a brand new car or something. This is probably meant for people who have money they can throw away lol. Yeah, I guess there's more to it than that. There are sensors all throughout and I guess the floor simulates you walking, so that alone has got to cost a bunch.
    1 point
  16. Yeah, that's correct. I also find the Inky Reflection loading screen perk and Stygian Parasol Pickaxe so cool.

  17. Even after all this time, I had no idea there was a limit. As far as I know, points aren't awarded for likes (correct me if I'm wrong), so I don't actually see a reason to have a limit at all.

  19. LOL! If it weren't for my shooter games I'd likely be more aggressive at work. They kinda help calm me. I'm attached to an Animal Crossing character named Sherb. Does that mean I'm mental? Probably the reasoning behind the guy in the video is to make people think that video games cause everyone to be overweight. Not the case. And they have video games for exercising so that makes it pure choice. I feel like if people are going out and doing mass shootings it's because of their mental state prior to the video games as well as their own choices. I suffer from depression but that's not gonna make me go out and mass kill cuz I play Fortnite.

I'll be honest with you. All I see are colors, numbers, and letters. I have no idea how to read any of that. It's well beyond my comprehension. Now as for what I'm doing this weekend, I'm looking for a spat with a clear view of the sky with as little light pollution as possible to get my telescope out. I've signed up to host a get together, and that was what I chose to do. It's sometime next month, and I just need to find a good place. I have a couple in mind, but haven't been out to fully check them out yet.

  24. Go for quality RAM devices, the higher the RAM the bigger the phone performance in terms of gaming. Prices differs, I'll suggest the following mobile phones suitable for gaming: - Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra - Iphone 13 Pro Max - Asus ROG Phone 6 - Black Shark 5 Pro - Tecno Camon 19 Pro You can check their prices at Amazon store, but bear in mind, you'll spend more funds for this devices due to their high quality and features.
    1 point
  25. There's gong to be very little difference in gaming performance, but ROG 5 is a better phone - Red Magic 6 is a spec beast for sure, but not as good at being a phone. Black Shark 4 is going to be the same, stick with the ROG 5 if it's in budget.

  26. In some ways no. Like gaming in general is unhealthy, physically and mentally, for me at least. If you're doing VR games with a decent amount of physical activity as a component my first guess is you are not getting enough exercise and general physical activity in your normal day to day life. Lack of exercise is for sure a major underlying problem in a lot of people with depression and anxiety.

    Spyro the Dragon

Thinking of this right now the only title that comes to my mind for the Spyro: the dragon series is Spyro: shadow legacy which I played in the early 2000's on the Nintendo DS. It's was pretty fun for as much as I can remember.

  29. Absolutely loving your review right now, it's going to be something I can put on while I work to just listen to and have some nostalgia! Might not even need to replay it after watching / listening. You are actually really good at reviewing you go into details I wouldn't expect such as voice overs etc. Ah I wasn't even thinking about legal positions over emulators, I doubt that would be an issue where I'm located right now , but the viruses more or less. I'll just use an older laptop if I decide to give it a run! Thanks again for the replies brother and great series! EOS

  31. I'm not decided on it yet but give or take, I might end up getting it in the end. The stretch they have on the game being a yearly release stopped favoring it for a while. With their new release plans after the next one, we would see much changes ; I'm very sure of that.

  39. First off, the game that @DC gave away (Like I'm sure all of the games he has given away as part of the points system) was in the form of a digital code and, as part of the system, you have to provide proof you have redeemed said code in the "Post here when you get your reward" thread. So no, you can't just sell them off. The system wouldn't exist in the form it does if @DC wanted you to do anything with these games other than play them. Second, @Yaramaki didn't win that game by "bidding more". This wasn't like the Auction No. 17- $15 Amazon Gift Card currently going on. There was a set price for the code in points, first come, first served. Check that thread for Aquadine on Nintendo Switch and you'll see the difference. Lastly, and to expand on what @Yaramaki said, even if the system in place was meant for you to sell the codes you bid for, that would be unethical. Not only is it dishonest, but it also denies one of your fellow forum members the chance to grab a game that they actually wanted. Check out this thread for Tyrant's Blessing for Steam that I recently partook in. Given that I had already got another game called Hard West 2 through bid for rewards that was very similar, I was very reluctant to go for it and would only take it if nobody else was interested: As you can see, in the end @DC felt nobody else was interested, so I got the code, but that's not the point. The point is that it's expected for people to bid for these rewards because they want them, any other motive is not appropriate. I actually held of commenting on that thread for days to give somebody else the chance to claim that game, the thought of claiming the code to then sell it never even crossed my mind. The fact you think that it's OK to claim a reward then just sell it off is, quite frankly, alarming and I'm very concerned. Just in case it is not clear, claiming an award to then only sell it off or exchange it for credit to buy something else in NOT what the Bid for Rewards section is for, so don't even think about it.

  40. In as much as PC is good I had a better experience playing on my ps4 and From what empire said about switch been strained with this game the PlayStation 4 has a much better performance and having a much wider TV screen would compensate for the fonts size as well.

    Alone in the Dark

I'm a very big on survival horror video games. I started out playing the first release on the Alone in the Dark game series. Even the movie which I think came out in 2005, I never missed out on it. If and when this new release comes out, I'm most likely going to get it as well.

  42. The whole reason the newest COD sold less and has lost users is probably because of fatigue. I have no interest in playing any of the new CODs these days. I've played most of the games, getting the new ones every year, but I've since stopped because it's not fun anymore, at least for me. Gaming fatigue is a real thing, where you lose interest in a game or series because you have played too much of it. I think with a few years break, I may be interested in jumping back in.

  43. Hunting over here isn't really the same as in America, people who hunt here are usually the upper rich class who have there own private hunting territority don't know how it's in the rest of europe but my guess is other europeans here can relate to that hunting is a rich persons hobby. The only reason i can think of is why i keep getting these hunting games is for the exploration of the map. Hiking is my second passion besides video games and collecting and i feel like walking trough these maps would give me a sense of what an American or Australian national park looks like for example. Pretty much the same @Empire said above as i too wouldn't mind just exploring the map without the hunting. Makes me wonder does anybody remember the game Africa on ps3 where you have to photgraph animals? They should make something like this but with a national park setting instead.

    How old to start gaming?

Depends on the game and how old the kid is. Personally I was gaming as young as 3 years old myself. My nephew for example was playing around that age, but more closely to age 5 or so. Once he knew the point of a video game, he was playing without problem. I never let my nephew play games online, as I know he wouldn't have been able to handle it. So I just let him play stuff from gamepass. He's 12 now anyway, so he's capable of gaming on his own. But I'd say 5-6 is a good age to get started on gaming. But I know some kids start earlier with their parents letting them play mobile games for example.

  45. I'll apologise for the tone of this post as I'm hot and bothered, but not the message. Let's improve the quality of our contributions to this thread, and all others, please. I could see this working as a Telltale game given the amount of close calls the characters come to arrest, death or just having identities discovered. It was particularly interesting for Walter 'Heisenberg' White to maintain his civilian identity given he's married, his brother-in-law works in the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and he's a school teacher with one of his students being a meth dealer. The problem about the game is that it's done all it needs to do: any other arcs can and will be covered in a spin-off TV show because the Breaking Bad universe is too big to not capitalise on. So what would the game do differently? A fully digitised New Mexico? OK, but that's not going to work with the story of the show. With Jesse Pinkman on the run? What's he going to do that he didn't in El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie didn't? We go around shooting people as Mike Ehrmantraut? If he's not old, he's not Mike Ehrmantraut. There is a case for a Breaking Bad video game, but the immediate answers are the ones we're not going to get. I bet we'll get something like a Narcos-style game: isometric tactical raids on Los Pollos Hermanos, or a Tropico-style management sim with meth. He. Vince Gilligan. It says it in the title of the article and in Kane99's original comment. How will it be better by not being a Grand Theft Auto clone? What sort of game would you like to see Breaking Bad adapted into? That's pretty much how we got the games we do today. We wouldn't have Roguelikes/lites without Rogue. We'd have no Call of Duty without Doom. We'd have no Elder Scrolls without Ultima. We wouldn't have Grand Theft Auto without the Miami Vice game of '86. 'Cloning' in this instance does not mean a 1:1 copy; most users here mean 'clone' to mean an open world game set in the Breaking Bad universe, likely with a lot of gunplay and vehicle physics. Please could you elaborate on this comment? What makes you think what they "do or do not" "might be an epic or great result?" What is your opinion based upon?

  47. I want to let everyone know that Bid for Rewards is officially back. How it works is that you receive 2 Points for each post reply and 5 Points for each new thread. You can then use your Points to participate in auctions to "Bid for Rewards" for gift cards, cash, video games, and video game consoles. I also want to take time to introduce @Yaramaki as VGR's third moderator. He will be joining @The Blackangel and @Shagger. @Yaramaki has contributed thoughtful and insightful postings since first joining VGR and we're excited to welcome him to the team. Congratulations and we look forward to your continued contributions to VGR.

  48. When i first came here it was to talk about videogames, one thing that was immediately clear to me this is the messageboard i have been looking for years, fellow posters welcomed me when i first joined up like i have been here for years. Everybody is so open and genuine there is no hate and jealousy towards eachother wheter or not somebody has a different oppinion it doesen't end up in a flame war. I may consider myself more video game collector then gamer these days but being part of vgr has worked miracles like getting stoked again on current gen gaming and actually being encouraged to play games that are way out of my zone. I also want to thank @DC, @Shagger and @The Blackangel for their faith and trusting me with this task, i'll try my utmost best to be the best mod i possible can, so if there is ever anything you possibly think i could help out with wheter it's board related or not, do not hestitate to send me a pm. Also thanks to all of you guys the entire community for being the way you are, we may not always agree with eachother but let's keep doing what we do best and make vgr the best place it possible can be. Damn i almost sound like a politician.
