  1. I had a look trough my Gba games and you're missing three important games from your list namely tales of phantasia, sword of mana and riviera the promised land well for the gba that is, I also have Lufia: The Ruins Of Lore but i need to play it myself before i'm able to recommend it to somebody. You know what is cool, i haven't booted up my gba sp in a couple of years and the damn thing still work fine like it was charged yesterday, why o why can't modern controllers have this. I'll have a look trough my ds collection next time i'm at my parents place, there are bound to be some in there that are worthy of your or anyone elses time.
  2. How long are you planning on playing games? I think this is a question that nobody can answer, unless you came from the future but you aren't now are you. When i read these kind of questions that you can't really give a proper answer to. I always ask myself the question how much have i changed as a person over the years, you know people change and their interest can become something completly else over time. I mean ask yourself what was into 10-15 years ago, i'm i still into the same things and what not? Their are several reasons why somebody would give up on a hobby, maybe it's the lack of time, just losing interest alltogether is another valid reason to consider. I could give a few examples on how my interests and how i changed as a person the past 10 years but i would be going way offtopic and don't want to do that however one consistent factor is that gaming has always been part of my life and i can see it to continue to be a part of my life for the foreseeable future.
  3. Admiring is a big word to use but to me their is only one developer that i have the biggest respect for and that's Yu Suzuki , the man and his games shaped me greatly not only as a gamer but as a person. I had the pleasure of meeting and shaking hands with the man, first time i had the feeling i'm not worthy of your time and he was also kind enough to sign a copy of F355 challenge for me. Too bad we never toke pictures together would have been a great memo for me to keep.
  4. There is a lot i dislike about modern gaming and a lot has already been mentioned like companies releasing half finished games and lootboxes and whatnot so i don't want to repeat the same things over and over, However my major beef with modern gaming has not been mentioned : ->Companies who don't care about the preservation of their games would be my top pick. How many games have disappeared from digital storeshelves to be forever lost into time well unless you got them when they were around, there is no legal way to get them anymore. How many games are already lost when nintendo closed down the dsi store and how many more will be lost when something like the 3ds eshop will be closed or sony closes down the ps3 and vita store, sure they got backlash for it and rightly so. I can't believe something like forza motorsport 7 and all it's dlc for example a game that's like only a couple of years old is not for sale anymore . Music and movies are preserved well, why can't they just do that for games. You See this is why physical media is so important.
  5. It's simple because the library of games on nintendo handhelds was vastly superior if you compare it their consoles. It's probably even between gba and gamecube imo but if you look at the ds and 3ds library and compare it to the wii and wii u library of games, the handhelds win hands down. To this days the ds and 3ds library have been unmatched (well maybe the switch rivals it now) because there is something for everybody, games for children check, games for hardcore gamers check, plenty of nintendo first party games check. Hell even your grandparents could enjoy the system if they wanted to. Another big reason was probably the pokemon games which i'm sure whenever a new one launched it sold a ton of systems aswell. Consider in the fact you don't need a tv to play it was another huge factor for parents with little kids, their kids could enjoy their games, while parents watched tv. Atleast that's why i think as i'm guessing not every household has multiple tv's in their house/appartement. As pointed out already games and systems were also cheaper so yeah already a few good reasons why nintendo their handhelds did better then their consoles. Sure you could always argue the wii did extremly well but the majority of the people just bought it for wii sports and maybe one or two games if at all and once they were bored with that the system was just catching dust.
  6. Ha did you end up checking all those gba games out i listed last week already? Since these are kind of the threads i like the most, feel like i should give a reply. out of the once listed above i'd say play Chrono trigger first but i only played the ds version not the snes version.
  7. When the first halo came out it was a groundbreaking game because you diden't have anything like that on a console yet, maybe it's just nostalgia doing the talking but i had some of the most fun playing the first halo with 3 other friends on a small crt tv, playing until the early morning we all had the og xbox so all we had to was bringing our own controller with us. Man those were the days. By the time Halo 2 came out, i don't know what happened most of us went their seperate ways and we all moved on with our lives. Now time have changed while i like halo, i just play trough the single player campaign and i'm done with the game. I've been wondering did anybody played Halo infinite? it's dropped down to a little under 30 bucks, is it worth spending the money on it for just the campaign or should i hold off on it?
  8. I guess Forza Horizon 5 was okay, just more of the same, if you played the 4th entry and feel like skipping this one you won't miss out on much. It may be the best exclusive on "next gen" console that i've played so far but that says nothing. I think if they do a 6th entry the series need to come up with some new ideas because it's getting stale, mexico is beautiful and all don't get me wrong and i had fun with the game but you know only a couple of showcase event and that's it. In previous entrys they would gift you cars like crazy, now they don't anymore. Certain cars you can't even get even after completing the game and finishing all the race events. One thing i'm starting to hate about the horizon series is they start getting more and more multiplayer based and single player content gets sacrificed for this, sure theres a ton to do to keep you occupied but like what 80 events, i kind off want them to bring back the big list that forza horizon 2 had, yes it's usually a huge grind but you could race every event in different cars if you wanted to, because ingame money was always plenty that what forza horizon to me is about driving all kinds of cars around an exotic location. Also the clothing and what have you for your avatar it just doesen't make sense, i never used it once after i created my avatar. Whenever i would get a wheelspin and i got some clothes instead of credits or a car it pissed me off a little.
  9. People seem to forget that in the 90 ies when cartridges were still the norm it wasen't too uncommon for a game to cost even more then 60 euros, i remember super street fighter 2 was like a 85 euro game, my parents were nagging about the price being too high that's why i remember it so well, virtua racing was like over a 100 euro because of it's special processor it contained and that game had like 3 tracks and that was it. To answer the question i know it's an old thread but i wasen't here yet, no i don't find it too expensive but knowing full well if i wait for a year i can pick up the game for 30 or even lower why would i pay 60. Well unless it's a nintendo game those never drop in price (sadly)
  10. I rarely use the lie option because i don't find it right thing to do. I'm more of persuade type of guy since that usually is the most satisfying option, like nobody has to die really. I think an example is the first town you visit in Outer worlds called Edgewater, if your persuade skill is high enough you can save the town peacefully or you can do it by force, i won't go into details because of spoilers but that gave me much more satisfaction then taking the bloody route. If you played the game i'm sure you know what i mean.
  11. Well first things first I don't like that F1 games are under the ea banner now, let's pray they give codemasters the freedom to do what they want and keep bullshit practices out of it. Because codemasters clearly know what they were doing. I also enjoyed the breaking point story mode however i wish it would take longer, like you finished it and you're left with the feeling you are not done yet. I haven't read too much about f1 2022 but i assume it makes a return. You know it gives you more of an insight how it is to be a rookie (and veteran) in F1 a side you don't see most often racing games let alone in f1 and that is probably the best thing about it. For the rest i won both championships with my own team and while it was pretty much the same as the previous year i had a good really good time with it, by the time my team was a front runner, my teammate (gasly) and hamilton/verstappen give me a real run for my money for the victory. My wish for 2022 is that they would incorporate even more features to manage like managing your own personel and maybe able to sign more sponserships deals and whatnot being able to be more involved in your team, like why not being able to manage without being a driver you know what i mean, My team was a good addition last year but it could use some improvement. Another thing Codemasters should do is bring back classic F1 cars, because they were excluded entirly in f1 2021. Knowing it's under ea banner my guess they are going to be paid dlc. F1 2022 releases on july 1st, just in time for the summer.
  12. The big question what if? If they stayed together surely another giant electronics company would have stepped up, maybe the 3do would have succeeded because it had some interesting ideas and games for the time, they had ea and a few other studios behind the project aswell. Panasonic/sanyo and goldstar were also on board and those weren't exactly small companies either so it probably should have done better then it did, if only the price was cheaper for the system. Offcourse this is just talking out of my ass i'm doing and is irrelevant. You do have to realise the Phillips cd-i was originally designed to be a multimedia platform not a gaming machine, it's only later phillips started focussing on games because people wanted games for it instead of interactive/educational/video cd software. The machine was quit revolutionairy at the time because it could run the same stuff a computer could but on cd-rom technology, at the time most of the of computers just had floppy disk drives because cd-rom were just too expensive. Offcourse the system failed because of it's high price tag. On a funny note one of my teachers in elementary school, used his cd-i in class to teach us stuff like i remember getting french with the cd-i at one point and you know it worked as a kid we never had seen anything like it and were generally exited about getting french. He also believed the cd-i would replace computers alltogheter because they were big and bulky and the cd-i was a cheaper alternative.
  13. You make it sound like it's a bad thing, it's not something i can do much about either. My parents were always hard working and were quite busy with their careers and they always told me they diden't have the time to have more children offcourse now they admit they should have had atleast had one more child. After my dad retired we became very close because he actually started taking an interest in what i was doing, he went with me on hikes atleast once a week and whatnot he's getting older so those really long hikes he can't do anymore but we genuily do stuff together now , something we never did when i was a kid because they were always busy. I never felt lonely as a kid i spent a lot of time with grandparents and my 2 nieces were also there most of the time so we always played together, when i turned 12 my parents sent me to a Boarding school where i stayed until i graduated from said school, so i was always together of kids my age from morning till it was bedtime. But it's true being alone as a kid has shaped me somewhat, while i'm a pretty social guy i like being on my own too, like i don't have a problem when i don't see anybody for a few days as i like doing my own thing and not having to give a fuck about what somebody else think if you know what i mean.
  14. Yeah i'm not going to try that if there is one thing i learned while i'm here is that to not piss you off and i'd to be honest i'd much rather stay on your good side.
  15. Probably the most important aspect today for somebody to decide what console to get -> is what console do my friends have and that sums it up pretty much how a casual gamer makes a choice what console they want. Sony seems to get away with a lot of their bullshit practices from gamers lately just you know because it's sony, wherest if microsoft would do it, the internet would be an all out warzone with sony fan boys screaming blood and murder, i think some people need to stop seeing microsoft as this big evil corporation because let's face it is sony any better, they both want your money and if possible all of it. I never overly cared for backwards compatibilty because i own the original hardware, the only positive about it is you have to keep one less console under your tv but since not all games are compatible you have to keep it under your tv anyway. I prefer the xbox brand over playstation and you know that won't really change a whole lot for years to come, call me a fanboy or whatever but microsoft never let me down with any of their products and services. wherest sony has let me down in the past but I'll mostlikely end up getting a ps5 by the end of the year, maybe by then they fixed gran turismo.
  16. I forgot to add one important game in my list, i was going to edit it into a previous post but i was too late and coulden't do it anymore : It's the official game of tokyo 2020 yeah i know a licensed game but hear me out, it's the closest thing you're going to get to sonic and mario games on ps4/xbox and you know the fact it has sports that you barely see in other games makes it a good fit for local multiplayer. I've messed around with it on my own for a while and you know with a buddy on the couch the game should show it' full potential, the fact it's more arcade above simulation, makes it easy to pick and play by just anybody even younger gamers who are inexperienced can enjoy the game. It's a cheap game now i just checked on amazon as you can get it for about 12$.
  17. I buy atleast a couple every year but as you may guess it's mostly older stuff and variants of consoles i already have.
  18. Most money involved into a single transaction was 4k in euro money for a complete cib japanese sega game gear collection all 196 games probably 8-9 years ago, now with the way prices are going trough the roof that was one hell of a deal i got. Facturing in i only had to pay for postage once instead of maybe 50-60 times if i was to buy them seperatly and since it came from a french collector i diden't have to pay any import taxes either.
  19. It's doubtfull any normal human being is able to post 30 times in an hour. Even if you just read the topic title, the human brain doesen't work that fast enough to process like what am i going to write, that's 2 minutes per post taking into account scrolling through the forums, reading the topic title, typing even if they are just one sentence long and waiting for your post to load, but man it would be a challenging to do. Lol, maybe it's just me and i'm super slow because my posts usually take up to half an hour or longer. I just posted what was on my mind in that previous post, you're the moderator here and i'm just a regulair mortal.
  20. I do gotta say i've always had a soft spot for those late 80 ies american muscle cars there is just something special about them and you know hopefully you'll get a lot of enjoyment out of it. It's always nice to hear when somebody dreams about something for so long and then finally decides to pull to trigger and being able to get it. I'd personally would love to have a Subaru impreza wrx sti (the 05/06 model) someday, but the fact a lot of older cars are banned from the big cities over here makes it hard to use as a daily drive that and the fact their is no subaru dailership near me makes and i know jack shit about cars myself to fix something myself. I've been thinking about getting 2014 model ford mustang to use as a daily drive but with fuel prices as high as they are right now i can't see it happing unfortantly, it woulden't be wise to spend 30k on a used car while my current car can probably last atleast another 5 years.
  21. Well if we can post our thoughts here, i (sort off) started getting used to the spamming and if people want to post 30 posts a day eh who am i to judge, i'm not here long enough yet so my oppinion doesen't overly matter, however if you do please try and keep the following in mind i'm just speaking for myself and don't know maybe others will agree with me : ->Please start reading the previous posts instead of blindly posting something for the sake of it as it makes you look like a clown. ->Don't start talking trash or hype up a game or something else for the matter because someone else says so : for example @Reality vs Adventure clearly loves saints row 2 and 3, doesen't mean i have to agree with him, you get what i'm saying, the fourth is my favourite in the series if you're wondering. ->-If you know nothing about the subject at matter of hand, you know google it, read about it first before posting something gibberish, you can always ask what it's about it as i'm sure somebody will explain what it is or just don't post anything at all. I don't like to discuss politics and religion because both faith and politcal beliefs are personal imo, you're not going to change me from that perspective so i just don't post anything at all in that section. -> Please don't take this personal or offence to this as i know most of you who post on here a lot, love the board more then anything else and it sort off too became my favourite place to hang out in the past few months. It's Just the amount of posts to go trough is kind off overwhelming sometimes especially when you don't have a lot of time.
  22. I feel like a need to respond to this and make myself clearer a bit. You see there is a difference between collecting videogames and just buying videogames that you want to play. Let me give an example : When somebody buys 2 brand new games at let's say 60$ a piece that's 120$ total, their is a good chance those within the year are worth those games are worth next to nothing. Sure you may see me buying a stack of current gen games but all those i get on sales or whenever the price drops. When you spend 120$ on digital games you're even more fucked because you can't sell these on now can you. When somebody who collects videogames buys an older game for 120$ or 2 older games whatever you prefer to get. Those games have proven that they hold their value over time and chances are you are going to lose money on them is not even that big. if you buy one or two collectible games at 60$ a piece now and want to sell them off let's say in 3 years, i'm sure with how prices for retro games you might even make a small profit in the end. Surely not every retro game will be like that so you have to know what you are doing. I've never seen collecting videogames as a waste of money, neither as an investment but it's always nice to know some stuff is worth x amount more of what you paid for it and like i said i work hard and my bills are always getting paid in time, don't have any debt and aslong as i can afford it and you know i'm happy with that why would i quit.
  23. Haha, whenever i bring monopoly up as a videogame people give me this weird look but it's suprisingly well done. May i ask what version are you playing because there are atleast 3 different versions that i know off on xbox/ps4? Also I'd advise you to hold off on TMNT for a while because Konami will be rereleasing their entire Tmnt back catalog as on big compilation called the cowubunga collection, you can check their page of what games will be released on it here. Well unless you wanna play them on an emulator, you get pretty much all the best tmnt in one big package. While It doesen't have concrete release date, this is a collection i may get on release date well the standard version that is.
  24. No because i most likely own the game either on ps3/psp/ps2 or another platform, besides why should i pay twice for something i already own. Oh right because it's sony
  25. While i can understand watching along when you are in the same room when somebody is playing. I never really understood the appeal to watch a live stream of a dude/woman i don't know, like why i would watch somebody else play a videogame when i can play said game myself.
