  1. The working conditions of employees is a problem of corporate culture, not specifically that of gaming. The gaming industry is the same as any other competitive cutthroat for profit industry. The nasty practices like not giving low level workers employee benefits or paying them scraps exists all over the spectrum not just specifically in gaming. Crunch as they like to call it is not unique to games either. Any discrepancy is in the reporting. So it's not fair to say that this is a gaming problem. I have experienced first and second hand what is reported in the gaming industry. If you think mid management who gets off on humiliating employees is unique to the gaming industry then I have a bridge to sell you. What is actually a gaming industry problem, is deliberately making the products flawed, to later sell the fixes for it. No other industry does this that I know of. Sell you a deliberately broken product then sell you a fix for it. Or as we commonly know them as "time savers" and "xp boosts" Yes these aer a type of microtransactions too, and all of those are bad, but not equally bad. By far these are the most heinous.

  2. How sensitive are we talking? Like will I be able to taste the air like a snake? Either way I think taste would be better because I wouldn't be able to get to sleep if I could hear for miles or we. Teh again I don't think I would want to taste the air of a public bathroom. 😛

  3. I would remove exclusives. All that does is set us up to have different games for each system and paves the way to subscription only as they entice all the streaming companies, who jump at the chance to spread their exclusive only services. We already have exclusives from publishers who also make consoles, and that competition itself welcomes exclusivity. Streaming companies are having a wet dream to get their grabs in the gaming market. When that becomes mainstream, we will have to depend on the internet if you wanted to buy any game. Hard discs will become obsolete. And when everything is subscribe only, internet required, then gaming will also fall in line and become a gaming environment where every game requires internet. And when that happens, we will see advertising popping up all the time. I've seen the future. I was sent to this present age to stop this from happening. The world will cease if this happens. Machines will take over. There will be an apocalypse due to exclusivity. And when the internet goes down...only those with the hard disk can play. People will flock to you home to play. Protect yourselves!!! The end.

  4. MICROTRANSACTIONS i know that they exist to make companies make more money, but some companies are abusing the concept, i stopped playing many games just because the devs/company that made game made it completely based on microtransactions...

  6. I'm going to jump on the Microtransactions bandwagon as well, hate it and how more and more games are jumping on it. They all want what Genshin impact has going on.

  7. You see this is why I've always advocated for the unionization of employees in the gaming industry because this is what happens when you leave a corporation to see to the welfare of its employees.

  8. Yeah, actually that's what really matters. If I am satisfied playing with it, then third person's comments should not alter my own preferences.

  9. If we're talking about drunken nights, then the time I woke up duct taped nude hanging from the monkey bars on a catholic school playground with a bunch of 3-5 year olds looking at me would top my list.

    Arm Wrestling

The official rules don't say anything about that. I mean he's in the square position at the start, he keeps his elbow in the pocket and although I can't exactly tell from the video I'm assuming he has at least one foot on floor at the start. He's not cheating but just found more effective technique.

  12. I don't know how many times I'm ready for a scrap, I point, click click--oh f**k; really? I'm running and getting hit trying to reload. My screen goes all over the place; upside down, spinning, don't know what direction to run, get hit again and it stops my reload progress, then I start swinging, well that's that; they just killed me. Then it takes a while to get to where I was, going down the same road etc. I get to the point where I died, then click click. Oh f**k. Again?

  13. I concur with your choice. I would much rather lose my phone. Losing your passport can ruin your world. It gives someone so much information, that they can steal your identity from that one document, and you're completely fucked after that. I actually found a passport in my front yard one day a few years ago. It belonged to a woman I had never met or even heard of. I made a post on Craigslist that only said that I had found a passport. And that if the owner could email me and identify the name and sex on the passport that I would return it to them. Otherwise I would be taking it to the police department a couple days later. I don't remember the exact time frame, but for the sake of argument, and example would be I found it on Wednesday and said I wold drop it off at the PD on Friday. No one ever responded so I took it to the PD. But it was so weird. That a random passport wound up in my yard. And if I remember right, the woman wasn't even from my town. And this is a big town. Around 130k permanent residents. When school is in session it easily tops 200k. There are a lot of colleges here in town. So who, what, when, where, why, and how are questions that will bug me for the rest of my life. Who is/was she? What happened that got her passport in my yard? When exactly did it happen? Where did the passport come from? Why was it thrown out in the first place? How did all this come into play? Was there an incident that was never reported or at least unknown to the public? Like the judicial system decided to keep it under wraps for whatever reason? So damn many questions, and no chance for answers.

  14. I'm gonna agree with @m76 here, that requirement to have a Facebook account to use Oculus Rift is ridiculous and should not be necessary. I'd also suggest it should become a little cheaper as well, but I don't see that happening as the industry seems more interested in advancing the tech rather than making it more affordable.

  15. I'm pretty open minded when it comes to accepting people's gaming preferences, even if it's something that I don't fancy, I will definitely find a way to understand why they are into it.

  16. I haven't been as much into Pokémon as I used to be in many years, but I am playing a decent amount of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Crystal for the 3DS nowadays, and it's pretty fun. I wouldn't say either are my fave though. It tends to depend on my mood. They both offer different things that I enjoy.

  17. For racing, how about GRIP? I've had my eye on this for a while. Kind of a spiritual successor to Rollcage from back in the day and has 82% of on steam right now. For Adventure, after digging through my Steam library, I found Blades of Time. It is something of a product of it's time, but is a fun, action packed game sure to please even the most ardent fans of Devil May Cry. FYI, "indie" isn't a genre. It's a shortened terms tagged to an independently published product. So it's kina difficult yo generate a recommendation with such a vague term.

  18. Exactly, it's actually what matters most which is the happiness and gaming satisfaction of the gamer and not the opinions of others.

  19. Mario and Contra force were actually favourite games of 90s kids. Many people laugh at me to play such kids game being an adult, but frankly I don't care . As you said, as long as the games gives pleasure and entertainment, what else do we need. That's what we are looking while we play, isn't it?

  20. Seriously, when it comes to gaming, the most important thing is that you enjoy the game and it doesn't matter what particular game you actually played.

  21. I too agree with you. As long as the game is enjoyable, we should not have any problem playing it. Just like I still play Mario. From the childhood I love the character, specially the music is really a nostalgic one. Sometime I play Contra force also. these are my favourite childhood games that I still play whenever I get chance.

  22. I didn't do too bad there. The only one I got wrong was Rafe Adler of Uncharted, who I never would've guessed. There were only three I had to guess, with the Dark Souls king being the one that had me racking my brain. I almost chose Vendrick, but knew that couldn't have been right because he looks nothing like that.

  23. In my opinion, what's abnormal is to be stressed about feeling good and worrying what others think of the games you play. Im 27 and LOVE the legend of zelda and mario. But I also play dark souls. It's about enjoying your free time and if you find happiness in Mario then you keep on enjoying it! We only have so much time in life. Make the best of it 🙂 Growing old is required, growing up is optional.

  24. Not that I can think of - Honestly, gaming hasn't been that big of an influence on my life in terms of philosophy or how I socialize. In video games, you get to be who or what you want to be for the most part but we all know this won't last and we'll have to return to our regular lives once we turn off that console/PC.
